This is an idea I got from a wrestling review YouTuber named Londrick. And for the moment I've decided to put my WWE PPV review thread on hold for a couple different reasons.

1. I'm poor and this ESPN deal is gonna make it harder for me to watch them.

2. I'm kinda sick of their shit right now to be honest.

Londrick recently announced he's bringing back his subscriber suggestion reviews so I thought this might be a good way to see some matches I've never seen before and watch some old favorites. I'll allow everyone to suggest 8 matches at a time and I'll review all of them. Once I've reviewed your list, you become eligible to suggest more, but keep in mind, it might be a while before I get to your suggestion so please be patient.

The only matches I won't accept are from WWE PPVs, just in case I ever go back to my first thread. But WWE TV matches are still eligible.

Terry Funk's Wrestlefest: 50 Years of Funk
No Disqualification Match: Bret Hart def. Terry Funk (25:12)

1000023772.jpg

The thing that surprises me more than anything else is that ECW got Vince to let them borrow Bret Hart for a night. This was meant to be Terry Funk's retirement match and you honestly can't ask for a better last opponent than Bret. Its kinda funny but also not funny how Terry was in WWF only three months later wearing a pantyhose over his head. Before the match begins, Paul E. some of the wrestlers and Funk's family gets in the ring and Paul E. gives a nice speech to send Funk out (on vacation). Bret grabs the mic and everyone boos. Bret calls Funk the GOAT and then says he's gonna give a Canadian ass whooping. It starts out being a wrestling match. Collar and elbow, tie-up. Bret works the match like a heel ‘cause he was in the middle of his “Fuck America” gimmick. Funk tries to go for the Spinning Toe Hold early, but Bret escapes and rolls out of the ring. Bret comes back inside, backs Funk up to the ropes and kicks his knees out. Bret employs the tried and true targeting of a limb for the next several minutes. Funk sells it like the pro that he is. He starts to back away from Hart, while also leaning in his direction with his good knee, keeping the bad one farther away to try and protect it. And he just throws a few jabs. I appreciate some subtly in wrestling. Bret reaches Funk's bad knee though with some kicks. Funk rolls outside and Bret starts attacking the other knee with a chair. Bret throws Funk back inside where he locks in the Figure Four and grabs the ropes for leverage. Two of Bret's brothers are outside for this match, and Funk starts talking shit to them as he's in the hold. That's funny. Terry rules. Bret eventually lets go of the hold, figuring and probably knowing Funk won't tap out to shit. One of Bret's brothers hits Funk in the head with a chair. More like a tap honestly. Bret grabs Funk by the hair, but Funk is on his knees now at this point and apparently the chair shot must have woken him up because he starts throwing body shits from the knees. Bret is throwing punches too, but Funk stands back up and drops Bret with a left jab. Funk hits a piledriver on Bret and gets a two count. Then Funk throws Bret outside, they brawl out there and Funk gets the better of it. But he doesn't have the advantage for long. He gets back in the ring and from the outside, Bret trips Funk and pulls him to the post so he can lock the Figure Four in around it. Bret goes back to the legs of Funk and brings a chair into the ring and he Pillmanizes Terry's knee. But Funk starts to clip Bret's knee back from the floor and gives Bret a taste of his own medicine. A couple fans toss Funk their chairs and Funk slams them into Bret's knee now. Funk throws Bret outside and sets up a table out there. He lays Bret on it and I thought he was gonna go for an Asai Moonsault through the table. But he goes for like an Asai Vader Bomb or something, but Bret dodges him and Funk goes through the table. Bret picks Funk up and we see that Funk has been bloodied. Bret throws Terry back inside and tries for a Sharpshooter, but Funk pulls Bret into a small package to get a two count. Funk catches Bret by the foot, sweeps him off his feet and puts on the Spinning Toe Hold. But Bret counters by pulling Funk into a small package and gets a two. Bret starts throwing clotheslines and Funk gets back up every time. The two run at each other and crack heads. Funk picks Bret up and hits a back suplex, both men's shoulders are down, but Bret gets his up just before the three count. Bret beats Terry Funk. I liked this match. Its not the most thrilling match, its more of a good wrestling match, but I think it does Terry justice. Its amazing that he was still able to have great match at 53. R.I.P. you crazy ol’ Funker.

ECW Hardcore Heaven 2000
Yoshihiro Tajiri def. Steve Corino (10:22)

1000023773.png

Before the match even starts, Corino grabs a microphone and he says some REALLY racist shit to Tajiri. So already, I'm hoping Tajiri whoops his ass. And it doesn't disappoint. He beats the shit out of Corino here. Tajiri kicks Corino down and the bell rings. Tajiri chops Corino in the corner and whips him to the buckle. Corino ducks a kick from Tajiri and hits an enziguri. Corino hits a sit-out powerbomb for a two count and backs Tajiri into the ropes, but Tajiri counters and traps Corino in the Tarantula. They head out onto the on ramp where Tajiri hits a brain buster and hits another hard kick to Corino's head. Corino crawls back into the ring where Tajiri grabs him, bites him in the forehead and spits in his face. Tajiri hangs Corino in the tree of woe and the visual of his own blood dripping into his hair and onto the mat is pretty sick. Tajiri runs and hits a baseball slide to Corino's bloody face. Tajiri brings a chair in the ring and plans to do the same thing with it. But Jack Victory grabs onto Tajiri's feet from the outside which gives Corino the chance to get up and superkick Tajiri but only gets a one count from that. Corino picks up the chair and runs at Tajiri with it. But Tajiri gets his feet up, the chair goes back into Corino's face. And then Tajiri does it, dropkicks the chair into his face. The chair flies out of Corino’s hands and towards the camera man who thankfully was saved by the ring ropes. Tajiri heads outside and grabs a table and sets it up, standing near the ropes and dropkicks into Corino's face. Jack Victory gets on the ramp to help Corino up, but as Corino gets up, Tajiri leaps off the middle of the top rope to hit a double clothesline them. Corino stands back up and leans on the ropes. Tajiri takes a run at him but gets back dropped through the table in the ring. Corino gets a two count off that. At this point in the match, you can hardly see his face under all the blood, his blonde hair has been entirely coated in red. Corino motions for Jack to throw in a table. Corino sets it up, but Tajiri gets Corino in an Octopus Stretch and as he does, Jack Victory gets in the ring and tries to save Corino, but Tajiri spews green mist in his face. Corino hits Tajiri with a powerslam, but Tajiri gets up and starts lighting Corino up with repeated jabs and kicks and backs him up against the table! I lost count of how many it was! Tajiri lays Corino down on the table, goes to the top rope and double stomps him through the table, then hooks the leg, 1, 2, 3. Tajiri takes an absolute dominating victory!

ROH Supercard of Honor (2006)
6-Man Tag Team Match: Do FIXER def. Blood Generation (20:34)

1000023774.jpg

Straight, just put your foot to the gas pedal kind of match. This match was insane, quick and all around spectacular! I've only heard about how good this match was, my first time seeing it was today. And to say I was blown away would be an understatement. First of all, I'm glad that they mentioned that this was Dragon Gate rules. As someone who's never watched Dragon Gate, I didn't know what their tag rules were. The crowd was really hot for this before the bell even rang, so they were all in for this ride. They save a lot of the crazy stuff for the last 10 minutes of the match. But they keep the pace quick enough in the first few minutes of the match to keep you interested. And the teamwork in this match is off the charts. This might be the purest form of teamwork I've ever seen in wrestling. In the beginning, Blood Generation have some trouble outmaneuvering Do FIXER despite the unreal speed Yoshino shows as he runs off the ropes. Each man comes in the ring at one point in the first few minutes to keep the matchups fresh. I do have one criticism, and thats that the hot tag aspect of the match feels ultimately pointless if the rule is that guys can come in and out at any point. Thats all I'll say about it. Blood Generation attempt to isolate Dragon Kid from his corner, but he manages to tag in Saito after dropping CIMA with a jumping roundhouse kick. Doi comes in and faces off with Saito and they start lighting each other up with chops, an exchange that Saito wins. Do FIXER pull some sweet double team moves. Dragon Kid hits like a 619 to Doi but only using Saito as if he were the ring ropes. Horiguchi goes for a suplex on Doi, but Doi backs him up towards his corner, allowing CIMA and Yoshino to grab Horiguchi by the tights towards their corner. And from there, they start isolating him from Kid and Saito. All 3 members of Blood Generation come in to take turns throwing Horiguchi across the ring by what little hair he has left. Yoshino tilt-a-whirls into an Octopus Stretch on Horiguchi. CIMA and Doi run in to prevent Kid and Saito from breaking it. They continue to wear Horiguchi down for a few more minutes until eventually, he finally reaches Saito. And from this point forward, it is nothing but full speed ahead! Saito throws Doi to the outside with an overhead belly to belly. Dragon Kid sends Yoshino outside with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors. Horiguchi comes back in and hits a tope to Doi. Dragon Kid hits a moonsault off the top rope to Yoshino to the outside. Saito and CIMA get in the ring and they light each other up! Saito drops CIMA with a chop, but CIMA quickly kips up and dropkicks Saito. CIMA goes for a head scissors, but Saito counters with a powerbomb. Saito hits 3 Fishermans and gets a two count. O'Connor roll by CIMA and then a double stomp. CIMA calls his partners back inside. They triple team him. Dragon Kid comes in, but Doi kicks him and stacks him on Saito's shoulders so CIMA hits a bulldog on Kid, which causes Saito to faceplant too. This is what I mean. The teamwork is honestly incredible. Yoshino hits a slingblade on Dragon Kid, goes to the top rope and gets so much height on this missile dropkick, its unbelievable! Dragon Kid reverses a suplex by turning it into a stunner. Kid runs off the ropes but Doi shoves Yoshino out of the way, reverses Kid's tilt-a-whirl and drops him face first on the mat. Doi misses Kid in the corner and Horiguchi comes back in, hits a dropkick and goes to moonsault Doi. Doi gets his knees up, and picks Genki up on his shoulders, but gets countered into a reverse DDT. Doi drops Genki with a facebuster off his shoulders, heads up to the top rope, only for Saito to meet him up there. Saito lifts Doi up on his shoulders. Dragon Kid springboards in and head scissors Doi off Saito's shoulders! And then Saito follows that with a splash on Doi. And I thought that was it. And the count was so close that I thought it was over. But then I see the referee holding up two fingers and the commentary says “ONLY TWO!” And the action doesn't slow down from there! Doi holds Dragon Kid as if he's going for the Styles Clash, so Yoshino can hit a baseball slide kick. Missile dropkick from Horiguchi to Yoshino. CIMA comes back inside and goes at it with Genki. Doi comes in and drops Genki. Saito comes in and sends Doi out. Yoshino comes back in and gets a clean German Suplex out of a tilt-a-whirl from Saito that gets another very close two count. Dragon Kid springboards in and hits a Frankensteiner on Yoshino. 1, 2, so close but Doi stops the pinfall! Dragon Kid goes to the top rope, but CIMA leaps in and hits a jumping chop to the face. Saito saves Kid by hooking CIMA's waist from behind. Kid sunset flips Saito, which in turn sends CIMA flying with a German Suplex. Genki comes back in and hits CIMA with a Dead Eye Piledriver. He slowly covers CIMA as his teammates hold back CIMA's teammates. 1, 2. 2.9999999 again! Yoshino and Doi trip Genki as he hits the second rope. Saito tries to help his partner but triple teamed and stacked between the shoulders of Yoshino and Doi so CIMA can double stomp him from off the top rope. He lands on his feet and rolls forward to hit a backbreaker to Horiguchi. Dragon Kid springboards in, gets caught by CIMA, who hits a celtic cross for another close 2 count! The crowd is losing their minds. Doi comes in and takes Dragon Kid to the ropes, but Kid escapes whatever he was attempting and hits a cutter off the top rope! Kid goes back up and flips forward to hit a Frankensteiner on Doi to finally get a 3 count. Amazing performance by everyone in this match! This was insane in the best way possible!

Love seeing your thoughts on these matches and I'm glad you fucked with them. My ratings for the matches would essentially be the same. I think all three matches are great examples of doing it "for the love of the game". I often lament that Tajiri never had a chance at being a killer in WWE, but the silver lining is that he was also excellent at comedy.

An interesting matchup to start this next batch. Because a match has never made me feel equally stressed out and bored. Scaffold matches are just a bad idea in general just because of the danger, as well how limited you are to what you can do on top of something teetering 20 something feet in the air. They worked with what they had but I was bored out of my mind watching this because its just punch, punch, more punching. Invader 3 throws a dropkick, thats about the only that stands out until the finish. The part where Invader 3 is hanging on to the scaffold and uses it like monkey bars to get back on the scaffold. Chicky thinks he's won, but we all know he hasn't. Invader 3 wails on him and sends him over the side. Chicky is hanging on for dear life (as would I). Invader 3 stomps his hands. Chicky goes down, hitting the mat feet first and I would be shocked if he didn't break both his legs. I didn't like watching this at all.

NOAH Navigation, Uprising Spirit 2002 Day 15
GHC Heavyweight Championship Match: Mitsuharu Misawa (c) def. Yoshinari Ogawa (23:26)

I've never seen an Ogawa match before but I have seen a handful of Misawa matches. This dude is a 5 star machine so I was looking forward to this one. And its… Ehhh, its fine especially for a 23 minute match. It could definitely be worse. But I don't feel like these two ever really clicked throughout the match. Ogawa is able to outwrestle Misawa at the start. Ogawa is on top for several minutes while Misawa has to fight up. Ogawa backs Misawa into a corner and breaks the tie-up just to slap him in the face. This riles Misawa up who comes out with an elbow to the face, but Ogawa still manages to bring Misawa down. Misawa escapes a headlock by lifting Ogawa up and dropping him to the outside, and he goes for a crossbody to the outside and misses. Ogawa is just one step ahead of Misawa on everything so far. Misawa drops Ogawa with an elbow though, rolls back inside and hits a suicide dive. That finally allows Misawa to get some skin in the game. Misawa throws him back in the ring and hits a frog splash off the top rope. He hits the first Tiger Driver of the match that Ogawa kicks out of. Ogawa rolls outside and Misawa goes to the apron, attempts a senton and hits the floor with a big splat. The two men end up on the onramp where Ogawa goes for a back suplex, but Misawa escapes, just to get DDT'd a moment later. Ogawa throws Misawa back in the ring and hits him with 3 back suplexes. Gets a 2 count. He picks Misawa back up and Misawa goes for an elbow, but Ogawa ducks and hits 2 more back suplexes. Misawa escapes the 6th one for a moment, but Ogawa hits an enziguri and then the 6th back suplex of the match. Misawa kicks out after that. Ogawa whips Misawa to the buckle and Misawa comes out of the corner with a rolling elbow. Misawa heads to the top rope, but Ogawa follows him up and hits a superplex and covers Misawa but gets a 2 count. Ogawa hits another trifecta of back suplexes and gets another two. Ogawa hits another back suplex which pisses me off. I'm sick of seeing this move at this point. And then he does it again to get another two count. Do something else please. Misawa ducks a clothesline and hits another Tiger Driver, but is too exhausted to attempt a pin. They both get back up and start trading blows back and forth. Ogawa rakes Misawa's eyes, but Misawa drops him with an elbow to the face. Ogawa tries to get Misawa with a few rollup pins but none work. Misawa drops him with some elbows and hits a 3rd Tiger Driver to get a 2 count. Ogawa tries a back suplex again but as Misawa resists, he instead goes for an O'Connor roll and gets a two. Misawa drops Ogawa with some more elbows, hits a 4th Tiger Driver and finally gets Ogawa with an Emerald Flowsion. A fine match but not one I'll probably be going back to. It just got too repetitive at the end.

NOAH The First Navigation 2005 Day 9
GHC Hardcore Openweight Championship Match: Naomichi Marufuji (c) def. Haruka Eigen (7:40)

Okay, so Haruka is a bonafide comedy wrestler is what I've gathered from this match. I also learned he was like 60 in this match. I could tell right away what kind of wrestler he was by how he escaped the arm wrench by Marufuji. Because Marufuji had countered Haruka's arm wrench into his own. But Haruka opted to run to the ropes to get out instead of trying to outwrestle him. Haruka runs off the ropes, Marufuji leap frogs over him. Haruka hooks his arms in the ropes to stop his momentum so Marufuji would flop on the mat as he goes for the dropkick. Haruka sends him out of the ring with a shoulder tackle. Marufuji rolls to the apron and gets knocked off by Haruka. Haruka goes for a suplex on the apron, but Marufuji lands in the ring and goes for a sunset flip bomb off the apron. But Haruka hangs onto the ropes escapes with a kick to the head. Both men make it back in the ring and Haruka tries to chokeslam him, Marufuji escapes for a moment, but then runs the ropes, but gets caught and chokeslammed by Eigan. Haruka goes to the top rope, Marufuji tries to stop him, but Eigan shoves him off. Eigan gets off the ropes and goes back up again. Marufuji grabs him by the crotch and throws Haruka off the ropes and back to the mat. Marufuji goes for a top rope dropkick but Haruka moves and Marufuji hits the mat. Haruka hooks his legs and then spins Marufuji around the ring. Both men are dizzy and stumble around from that, but Marufuji still manages to land a superkick in his dazed state. Marufuji picks him up and goes for a Shiranui, but Haruka shoves him off into the corner and throws a huge, disgusting wad of spit at Marufuji. Haruka rolls Marufuji into a small package and gets a 2 count. Haruka goes for the Shiranui himself, but Marufuji shoves him off and rolls him up for two. Marufuji chops him, superkick and then the Shiranui for the three. Not a match I was meant to take serious but still not really one I liked too much. It serves its purpose though.

El Dorado Game of Treasure (2008)
UWA World Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders Match: Kota Ibushi & KAGETORA def. Shuji Kondo & Kinya Oyanagi (22:17)

I love me some Kota Ibushi so I was excited for this one. He was the best part of this match unsurprisingly. I love the contrast between Shuji and Kinya. Kinya is scrawny and tall while Shuji is a little shorter but an absolute man of beef. I'm watching this with the assumption its Dragon Gate style. Because all tag rules are thrown out the window. Kinya and Kage start the match. Kinya just basically outwrestles him clean and fair until Kage decides to tag Kota in. Ibushi comes in and faces off against Shuji, who outwrestles Ibushi. Kinya comes back in and wrestles Ibushi into the mat but then he tries to get in a striking match with Kota, and loses. Kage comes back in and gets outwrestled again by Kinya, who gets him down into an STF. Shuji gets in and prevents Kota from saving his partner, locking in his own STF. Kinya eventually lets go, and Kage is able to drop Kinya with a kick to the gut and then a spinning heel kick. Shuji comes in and knocks Ibushi off the apron to prevent him from getting in. But Kage knocks Shuji down with a clothesline and Ibushi gets back on the apron and tagged in. Kota comes in and starts kicking in the chests of Kinya and Shuji, knocking them both out of the ring. Kage hits a suicide dive on Shuji while Kota takes Kinya out with a moonsault. Kage throws Kinya back inside and Kage hits a couple big clotheslines on Kinya. Kinya tries to surprise Kage with some rollups but doesn't get it. Kinya gets Kage down into an armbar, but Kage gets out of it by standing up and hits a sidewalk slam. Both men tag in their partners and Shuji runs in, but Kota springboards in and hits a dropkick to Shuji. Its easy to see why he sticks out in this match. Ibushi runs off the ropes, but Shuji throws him up in the air, catches and then drops him with a powerslam. Kinya hits a baseball slide to Kage to prevent him from saving Kota, so Shuji hits a Dragon Screw on Ibushi as he's sitting on the top buckle. And then Shuji locks him in the Prism Trap. Kage saves his partner but gets tossed outside by Shuji. Kota thwarts three attempts at a clothesline on the third clothesline, Ibushi doesn't duck. He falls back and kips up, Shuji quickly grabs him and tries a German Suplex, but Kota lands on his feet and hits a jumping sliding kick to the chest. What a sequence. Kage gets back in and now him and Kota start double teaming Shuji. Kage hits an elbow drop from the top rope, covers Shuji and gets a 2 count. Shuji sits up and gets kicked down by Kota who tells Kage to quickly cover him again. Kota tries to stop Kinya, but Kinya gets passed him and breaks up the pinfall. Kota and Kinya head outside while Kage sets up for something inside. He comes out of the corner and gets a lariet by Shuji. Kinya gets in and takes advantage of a hurt Kage. He hits a hard enziguri to the back of his head and then a piledriver. And he gets a 2 count off that. Kinya gets Kage in the Octopus Stretch and then we see Shuji trying to hold Kota back from saving Kage. But Ibushi breaks free and keeps the match going. Kage runs off the ropes, but Shuji shoves Kinya out of the way, catches Kage and hits an Olympic Slam. He picks Kage back up and gets in a Dominator position but then instead of a Dominator he hits a piledriver. He hooks the leg, but Kota saves the match. Shuji grabs Kota and holds him in place for Kinya. But Kota kicks Kinya in the face and switches behind Shuji. But Shuji grabs Kota by the air and throws him forward over his (Shuji's) own body. Shuji picks Kota back up and hits an inverted suplex. Shuji runs off the ropes to lariet Kage. Kage stomps him for a second with a kick to his chest, but Shuji still follows through with that lariet. Kage stomps a second lariet with a kick to Shuji's head. And then he drops Kinya on his head with a back suplex. Ibushi heads up and hits a Frog Splash on Kinya to get a 2 count. Kage sits Kinya up on the top rope and Kinya is able to fight Kage off him, but then from all the way across the ring, Ibushi cartwheels and backflip pele kicks Kinya! Kage picks Kinya up on his shoulders, but Shuji boots him in the face and lariets Kota. Kage takes Shuji out with a (checks notes) Gurumakakari Kai, which I've never seen and is already a favorite move. Kage picks Kinya back up and hits a Brain Buster from the second rope, which gets a two count. Kota hits a Dragon Suplex on Kinya and Kage follows that up with a Brain Buster. Ibushi holds Shuji back from stopping the pin, but Kinya still kicks out! Kage hits a missile dropkick to Kinya which sends his body straight into the corner and he sells it like he's a ragdoll. Kage picks him up one more time and hits an Emerald Flowsion out of a fireman's carry, 1, 2, 3. What a match! These guys killed it and it isn't even for the Tag Titles, its just to be the #1 Contenders.

UWF Fighting Square Hakata (1989)
Masakatsu Funaki def. Tatsuo Nakano (9:04)

Jesus fucking Christ, I was so unprepared for how violent this would be. I could actually believe these guys wanted to kill each other because they pulled no punches (or kicks). Funaki tried to shake his hand and Nakano just kicks his hand away and these guys beat the piss and shit out of each other! Funaki fucks up Nakano's face. Blood runs from his nose to his mouth and chest. A guy comes inside to look at Nakano, who says he's okay to go. There are some breaks in the action and it is kinda funny how the crowd goes silent during a submission hold, and then rises to a fevor pitch when one of them bitch slaps the other. Nakano knocks Funaki down with a couple good kicks to the head and the referee starts counting him out. Funaki stands back up and Nakano takes him back down. Funaki gets out by kicking Nakano in the brains! This crowd is firmly behind Nakano by the way, they love this guy and it made me start to root for him. Funaki gets Nakano in the single leg boston crab, but Nakano reaches the ropes to escape. Nakano gets looked at again and when they leave, the fight continues. Nakano boots Funaki in the head and he's down again. He makes it back to his feet. Funaki backs Nakano up to the ropes, so Nakano brains him with a boot. Funaki is stumbled back to the corner by Nakano with a couple more hard kicks. Funaki gets up a little quicker, but Nakano knocks him down with a spin kick to the gut. Nakano rolls him into a single boston crab. Funaki rolls again and slaps Nakano in the head. Nakano responds with a slap of his own. Funaki gets back up, picks Nakano up and hits what's like an Alabama Slam, but flips forward with him. Funaki rolls Nakano on his stomach and locks in a deep Boston Crab and the referee calls for the bell. I loved this. A bit concerning at times, but these guys kicked ass.

CMLL Martes De Coliseo (1996)
CMLL World Mini Estrella 2 Out of 3 Falls Match: Damiancito El Guerrero def. Mascarita Magica (c) (17:00 (general guess))

First time seeing both these guys. This is the first time I've heard of either. They don't do anything too crazy in the first couple falls. Magica sends Guerrero outside with an arm drag, Guerrero's foot takes out some poor guy's food. Magica gets Guerrero to tap out with… what the fuck is that? Whatever it is, it was cool. (Seriously, I don't even know how to articulate this move). The second fall begins after a commercial break, and the second fall is even shorter than the first. A fresh start it seems, there's more of a fast pace in this fall though and Guerrero is wrestling much better than he did in the first fall, but still, not much of note. Guerrero gets Magica in a surfboard stretch and Magica gives up, leading us into the third fall, where they kick it up a notch. Guerrero tries to shake Magica's hand and I kinda hoped Magica would've kicked his hand away like Nakano did to Funaki. I'm guessing Guerrero is the heel here because Magica hesitates to shake his hand, but ends up doing it. Magica starts the third fall with a dropkick and then sends Guerrero off the ropes for a back body drop. He picks him back up and hits a powerbomb for a 2 count. Guerrero pops off a German Suplex for a 2 count. Magica knocks Guerrero down and catapults him across the ring. Magica looks like he's gonna do it again, but Guerrero, spins his body and kicks his legs up, catches Guerrero by the head and brings him down into like a victory roll, but Magica kicks out. Guerrero runs and leaps to the top rope, before coming off with a missile dropkick. Magica runs the ropes and hits the top rope to hit a moonsault on Guerrero. Magica sends Guerrero to the outside with a dropkick and then suicide dives into him. Guerrero retaliates a little later though with a corkscrew off the middle rope to Magica on the outside. Guerrero slides back in the ring first and Magica follows him quickly back inside and tries to catch him by surprise with a rollup. Magica hits the corner and comes back with a crossbody for a 2 count. Magica takes a swing at Guerrero, but Guerrero catches his hand, wrenches the arm and brings him down into a pin that keeps his shoulders to the mat for a 3. New champion. A good match but it depends on spots mostly towards the end.

Promociones Mora (2001)
2 Out of 3 Falls Match: Rey Misterio Jr., Damian 666 & Vampiro def. Rey Misterio Sr., La Parka & Halloween (24:55)

Please bare with me here because we see this match entirely filmed from the perspective of one person recording and it becomes very disorienting. A couple unimportant things I'll say off the bat. I never knew Rey Sr. was so fucking big, for some reason I've always assumed he was of similar stature to Rey Jr. This crowd does not fuck with La Parka at all. The bell rings before they've decided who's starting as the disputes are happening, Rey Sr. marches up to Junior and shoves him, almost causing a fight to break out. It takes a bit for the action to actually start, but after a few minutes, Vampiro and Halloween start the match, but then both Misterios get in and they have a good mini match. Jr. tries to shove his uncle and Sr. just slaps him in the face. But Junior uses his speed to outmaneuver his huge uncle and send him outside with a dropkick. Damian and Halloween become the legal men and Damian hits a crossbody from the second rope, but he gets too close to La Parka, who yanks him back by his hair and gets in to stomp his ass out, this causes all 6 guys to get in and a big brawl breaks out. Again, we see this match entirely from one perspective so it feels extremely chaotic as he tries to capture as much as he can. But the team of La Parka, Rey Sr. & Halloween get the upper hand in this brawl, they really kick some ass here. Halloween drops Rey Jr. crotch first on the guardrail and Rey Sr. clotheslines him into the crowd. La Parka grabs a board off the floor and props it against the guardrail and body slams Damian through it. I could believe La Parka had legitimate beef with Damian because he just focused all his attention on him. Halloween pins Rey Jr. in the ring and they win the first fall. La Parka brings another board in and props it in the corner. And again, he drops Damian through. La Parka fucking hates this guy. Rey Jr.’s team regroups on the outside, Damian is on the ground recovering from La Parka trying to kill him. Rey Jr. gets in to start the second fall and the referees are doing a terrible job at controlling Rey Sr.’s team as they start triple teaming Junior in the ring, all the while holding Vampiro back from helping him. Rey Sr. and Halloween set up another board in their corner. La Parka plans to throw Damian through it, but Damian turns the tables and throws La Parka through it. The crowd pops big for that! A brawl breaks out again outside the ring with Damian taking it to La Parka. Vampiro whips Rey Sr. over the guardrail into a row of seats. La Parka starts to beg Damian off, but it doesn't work. The legal men change with Rey Jr. and Halloween. Vampiro gets Rey Sr. in an STF, holding him back while Rey hits a springboard bulldog to Halloween. He stacks him up in a pin while Damian stops La Parka from stopping the pin. Rey Jr.’s team takes fall two. We've reached the final round. Rey Jr. and La Parka start the third fall and we get a nice interaction. La Parka tries to back drop Rey over the ropes, Rey lands on the apron and La Parka gives a little strut. Rey goes for a crossbody but gets caught by Parka, who sits Rey on the top rope and slaps him in the face. La Parka struts and Rey Jr. sends him out of the ring with a head scissors. Vampiro and Halloween get in the ring, but Halloween's valet (sorry I don't know her name) comes in and shoves Vampiro off. She goes to slap him in the face, but Vampiro grabs her by the hair and it looks like he's gonna hit her. But La Parka comes in and shuts that down. Maybe he's not such a bad guy after all. Damian comes in and the legendary beef between them continues. Both Misterios come in and Rey Jr. misses a dropkick, but Vampiro superkicks Sr. Halloween knocks Vampiro down with a spinning kick. Halloween traps Rey Jr. in the tree of woe, but misses the shoulder block as Rey simply lifted his upper body so Halloween hits the post shoulder first. Vampiro hits him with a crossbody to the outside. But back in the ring, Rey Jr. hits a baseball slide to Rey Sr.’s nutsack as he sat in in the corner. Senior rolls outside and Junior hits a baseball slide to the outside and turns it into a head scissors. La Parka slides Damian back in the ring and hits an Alabama Slam, twice La Parka covers him and lifts Damian's head off the mat, because he for some reason hates his guts. It feels like La Parka loses the plot here at the end as he covers Damian up with flags and t-shirts and seems as if he's gonna go to the top rope but he goes to grab Damian, who pulls La Parka into a small package to score the 3rd fall. Rey Jr.’s team takes the win with a weird finish. The quality on the footage isn't great but if you can handle that, I'd recommend this. I had fun with it.

JWP Exercise Hall Three Day Festival Day 1 (2005)
DOJO Selection Three Day Tournament First Round 2 Count Rules Match: Tiger Honey def. Command Bolshoi (6:56)

So the special stipulation for this match was that you lose on two counts. And honestly, if it were, I'd definitely fuck this up because kicking at two is more natural. For being only a 7 minute match, they were really working. Its just a very good, quick wrestling match. Both ladies wrestle each other down to the match, no one surprisingly tries to get a quick pin, which would be my plan if all I needed was a two count to win. Tiger Honey definitely lost early, but she's supposed to go over brother. Bolshoi applies an ankle lock on Tiger's kickout and Tiger sells the leg as she goes to run the ropes. Bolshoi whips her to the ropes, but Tiger 619s back inside, ducks a clothesline and hits a double underhook suplex. Bolshoi gets whipped to the buckle and kicks Tiger back. Tiger rolls backward and catches Bolshoi in a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Tiger tries a Frog Splash, but Bolshoi rolls out of the way and pops off a Frankensteiner into a pin that Tiger kicks at one on. Bolshoi hits two side slams and gets a one on both. Tiger ducks a clothesline and switches behind her to hit a German Suplex. Tiger hooks Bolshoi's arms from behind, but Bolshoi standing switches and hooks Tiger's. And they repeat several times before Bolshoi finally counters by rolling forward to bring Tiger to a victory roll pin. The two try several times to get a quick pin. Bolshoi lands on Tiger's shoulders, electric chair style and counters to a head scissors into a pin. Tiger still kicks out. Tiger finally gets the win with a split leg pin. Again, pretty good for 7 minutes.

NOAH 2nd Great Voyage 2005
GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship Match: KENTA (c) def. SUWA (16:16)

First impressions of SUWA is that he is a massive dick and I love it. Because those are the heels I wanna see get their ass kicked the most. SUWA comes down holding a huge case in his hand and slides it under the ring. SUWA grabs the card out of Joe Higuchi’s hand as he's reading it and rips it up. So KENTA runs and boots him in the head. SUWA is gaining heat with everyone here. The bell rings and they charge each other with KENTA kicking SUWA in the face. SUWA rolls outside, but KENTA does not allow this man a break. He follows him out and whips him into the rail. But SUWA grabs the ring bell and brains KENTA with it and then throws him back inside. SUWA grabs the case from under the ring, clocks KENTA with it. The referee warns him to stop, but SUWA ignores him and clocks KENTA with it once again. Referee rings the bell, SUWA has been disqualified. And I'm shocked because I know Japan has a more traditional style that they stick to most of the time. One of the guards grabs a mic and says that the match will restart and go on as planned. By this point, SUWA is already almost to the back, he doesn't care about this match at all. KENTA sprints up the aisle and stops SUWA from leaving. KENTA brings his ass back towards the ring and hits a suplex on the ramp. SUWA rolls out of the ring and kicks the rail where Higuchi is. Higuchi stands up like he's about to fight SUWA, even gets his jacket off as SUWA talks shit. SUWA rolls back inside and KENTA beats him around the ring a bit before SUWA is able to put KENTA on the mat with a neckbreaker. SUWA uses his wrist tape to choke KENTA. SUWA takes the turnbuckle pad off and hits the referee with it once he gets it off for trying to stop him. And then he tosses it in Higuchi's direction. He knows they restarted the match for a reason. He can basically do whatever he wants now because he knows he's not gonna be disqualified for it. KENTA makes it back to his feet, the two trade blows and SUWA kicks KENTA square in the balls. He turns around to see some ringside guys trying to put the pad back on the turnbuckle and he kicks them all off. One of them tries to get in the ring and the referee has to hold him back. This is a master heel performance. SUWA beats on KENTA in the ring and hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker before rolling him to the outside. SUWA picks KENTA up and slams him balls first into the post. He gets back in the ring to taunt the crowd who boo him. SUWA rolls KENTA back in the ring, sends him off the ropes. KENTA slides under SUWA’s legs and gives him 2 kicks to the chest and spinning one to the jaw. KENTA heads to the apron, goes to springboard inside, but SUWA shoves the referee into the ropes, causing KENTA to hit the mat face first. SUWA starts to wear KENTA down, but KENTA eventually gets back in it with a head scissors off the second rope and big boot to the face. KENTA hits the mat already exhausted, but SUWA is stunned now and goes down too. KENTA sends SUWA off the ropes and hits a running dropkick. KENTA goes back to the apron and springboards inside to hit a missile dropkick and gets a two count. SUWA moves to the corner and KENTA starts throwing big kicks in his face, dropping him in the corner. KENTA hits a big dropkick in the corner. But SUWA is able to get on top again after dodging a kick and hits a flapjack. SUWA heads up top and hits a diving clothesline. KENTA rolls to the outside and SUWA hits a suicide dive. SUWA rolls back in first and KENTA rolls in at the count of 16. SUWA hits the ropes and hits a lariat for a 2 count. KENTA gives some hard kicks before hitting the ropes. SUWA lifts KENTA on his shoulders before dropping him forward face first to the mat. SUWA hooks KENTA’s arms, but KENTA escapes and switches behind him to hit a Tiger Suplex. KENTA sets SUWA up for the GTS. SUWA escapes, punches KENTA in the jaw, takes a run at him, but KENTA gets him with a head scissors, but SUWA comes back with a dropkick towards the corner. SUWA hooks KENTA's arms again, but KENTA counters and nails the GTS before collapsing. Both men get up to their knees and start throwing punches. They stand back up and KENTA drops SUWA to his knees again with a kick to the gut! KENTA hits 3 hard kicks to SUWA’s head before covering him. SUWA kicks out so KENTA hits with a Busaiku Knee! SUWA gets up again and KENTA hits him with another to finally return after a damn good match!
