Universal Championship – 2/3 Falls Match
Seth Rollins© VS Finn Balor
At the Royal Rumble pay per view earlier this year the pair of Finn Balor and Seth Rollins. Had an equally huge night but for completely different and separate reasons, first Balor challenged for and reclaimed the WWE Universal Championship from then champion Brock Lesnar. And secondly in the 2019 Men’s Royal Rumble match, Rollins entered the match as the tenth entrant. He would make it to the final two of the match, but the other man was no easy opponent for him to claim victory. As it came in the form of the “Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman, meaning that Rollins had a herculean task in front of him.

When it was all said and done and the match reached its conclusion, it would be Rollins who was crowned the victor of the Rumble. The two men who faced off at Summerslam 2016 to crown the inaugural WWE Universal Champion were destined to clash inside the squared circle for a second time at WrestleMania 35. This second meeting ended a very different outcome as it would be Rollins who emerged victorious and claimed the title for the first time in his WWE career.

Rollins took to the ring on an episode of Monday Night RAW and invited the now former champion aka Balor to join him in the ring. Once both men met inside the squared circle they didn’t come to blows, instead Rollins offered a proposition to Balor for the rematch for the gold at MITB. He explained that the were tied in terms of the score regarding to their feud over the WWE Universal Championship. So why don’t they have a two out of three falls match at MITB to decide the overall winner and Balor agreed to it.

Whereas the duo of Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder challenged for and won the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship from the Revival on the Mania Kickoff Show. The new General Manager of Monday Night RAW that being Paul Heyman revealed that the trio of former champions would get their respective rematches. In a six-man tag team match at the 2019 WWE Money in the Bank ppv event.

RAW Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch© VS Nia Jax
Becky Lynch had been a monumental rise since the beginning of 2019, first by entering and winning the women’s Royal Rumble match. Then going onto WrestleMania 35 to make history not once but twice in the same night, as not only did she take part in the first ever women’s main event of WrestleMania history. She also defeated both the then WWE RAW Women’s Champion that being Ronda Rousey©. And the WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion that being Charlotte Flair© by pinning Rousey to win both the match and the titles.

After both members of the tag team known as the Samoan Slaughterhouse, that being the pair of Nia Jax and Tamina Snuka failed to qualify for the Women’s MITB ladder match. They instead set their sights on Lynch and the RAW Women’s Championship, leading to Lynch she would see whoever wanted to face her at MITB.

WWE Championship – Steel Cage Match
Kofi Kingston© VS Daniel Bryan

At WrestleMania 35, Kofi Kingston walked into the event as the Number One Contender to the WWE Championship. He would end his night in a new role, that role being that of the new reigning WWE Champion. In the weeks following the showcase of the immortals the duo of the new and former WWE Champions would continue to clash in brawls that also included the other members of the New Day and Erick Rowan.

Tuesday Night Smackdown GM Paige had enough of all of this took to the ring to lay down the law. She announced that the rematch for the WWE Championship would take place at the Money in the Bank ppv event, not only that it would have inside a steel cage.

Smackdown Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch© VS Charlotte Flair
Another rematch for a piece of WWE Championship gold, this time for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. And like the WWE Championship rematch before it came about as a direct result of a match that took place at WrestleMania 35.

Becky Lynch captured the gold at Mania from Charlotte Flair the then WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion in the night’s main event. The now former champion aka Flair would take to the ring and state that she would get her rematch at MITB.

United States Championship
Ricochet© VS Samoa Joe
The final match announced for the 2019 Money in the Bank card was yet another WrestleMania 35 championship rematch. This time around the championship up for grabs was the WWE United States Championship. And it concerned the recently newly crowned champion that being “Sky’s the Limit” Ricochet©.

And the former champion who was not someone who the WWE Universe could count out of reclaiming the gold. That being the “Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe, who was out for revenge on a man he called a fluke of a champion.

Kickoff Show Matches
It was announced that the Kickoff Show of the Money in the Bank ppv event would consist of a total of three matches. First up a rematch for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship between Tony Nese© and Buddy Murphy. Next up a women’s division tag team match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Featuring the reigning and defending champions the Boss & Hug Connection©, and in an effort to prove the duo of Bayley and Sasha Banks wanted to face tag teams from all of the company’s brands.

The tag team of Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir stepped up to challenge for the gold; this wouldn’t be a permanent move to the main roster for the challengers. And third and finally a singles match between former tag team partners turned the bitterest of enemies. That being the pair of R-Truth and the Miz a WrestleMania rematch but this time around with a Loser Leaves TNS stipulation.

A pair of pre-recorded promos from the former members of the tag team formerly known as the Awesome Truth. In the first one a hyped-up R-Truth was really confused why Miz was being so grumpy, just because he beat him at mania. In the second an enraged Miz yelled that it was all Truth’s fault. He bitched and moaned about having an error of judgment when he decided to reform the Awesome Truth. Then concluded by delivering a threat in the form of stating that he would send Truth packing from the blue brand.

"What’s Up?" by Ron Killings

In the third and final match to take place on the MITB Kickoff Show saw two former tag team partners in R-Truth and The Miz. Clash in a WrestleMania 35 rematch only this time with the added stipulation of Loser Leaves Tuesday Night Smackdown. Truth held his own in the early going of the match by unintentionally capitalizing on the obvious anger of his opponent. However, as a direct result of this Miz just decided to cut corners to get the win. He did this by first poking Truth in the right eye and then rolled him with a handful of tights.

WWE United States Championship
Ricochet© VS Samoa Joe

Next up it was time for the rematch for the WWE United States Championship between Ricochet© and Samoa Joe. Albeit the very obvious difference of the roles of champion and challenger reversed. Just like their first meeting over the WWE United States Championship, this one was a crash course in clashing styles.

With Ricochet’s high flying and high paced offence being the perfect foil for Joe’s mix of stiff strikes and submission. Ricochet ended up getting the victory by way of pinfall after he hit the Recoil then dragged his opponent over to one of the corners, then proceeded to climb up to the top rope. Then put an end to things in a rather spectacular fashion with a 630 Splash for the win.
Winner & Still WWE United States Champion: Ricochet

As AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio from Tuesday Night Smackdown. Clashed with Baron Corbin, Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Roman Reigns from Monday Night RAW. In this main event, we had a total of four former MITB winners all looking to reclaim the glory that comes with the briefcase.

While we also had four superstars that were looking to win their first MITB ladder match. It came down to the pair of Ziggler and Styles who duked it out on top of a ladder. Only for Ziggler to descend a few rungs on his side of the ladder and hit a low blow on Styles. From here he climbed back up to the top of the ladder and unhooked the briefcase for the win.
