They're called Mark because it's something from the old carnival days of the 1900s where the carnival folk would "mark" potential people to get their money from. A Mark in wrestling can generally mean either that it's someone who actually thinks wrestling is real, or otherwise someone who overreacts to wrestling in certain situation.
