I was looking at some old r/squaredcircle threads last night, just for the sake of it. I find it so funny that in the thread about Scott D'Amore being promoted to President of Impact Wrestling (in early 2023) there's a comment from someone who I've noticed was extremely anti-Scott the moment he was fired. Apparently there is no better guy and the company is close to being self-sufficient. Interesting switch up.
The top comment in the post show discussion thread for Bound for Glory 2023 made me laugh. It says that surely Anthem has full faith in Scott. You would think... anyways, there's a reply from someone who claims to know some people from Anthem, and they have a very good relationship with Scott. In fact, the company is now profitable for Anthem! Interesting. Obviously, that might be bullshit.
The thread about Hard to Kill's attendance & live gate has a comment from the first guy I mentioned. He says Scott is his promoter of the year...
Fast forward to when Scott was fired, and he was everywhere, saying Scott actually wasn't that good & deserved to be fired, etc. I only noticed him because of his presence in every thread about Scott's firing, and he would absolutely glaze every Anthem decision. Looking back and seeing the switch up is so funny.
Also, the type of discussions regarding Impact back then - compared to now - feel quite different. Nowadays there's a lot of talk about WWE in TNA threads, back then it was all about how good the Impact shows were. More of a wholesome underdog vibe. Just some things I found interesting. I should probably not give this much of a shit lol.
