Yeah, I even said that the slippery slope doesn’t even apply here anyway because the constitution nor the law protects anything other than people. You can’t even legally marry an object or animal. It’s irrelevant.

Maybe he's so die-hard constitution he still recognizes the 3/5s clause of 1787.

The funny thing about that clause is it was a compromise to weaken the strength of the slave states. At the time there was a delicate balance between free and slave states and counting the slave population would have given slave states more representatives and since the founders didn’t want to codify slavery outright in the constitution like they originally wanted, they agree to count 3/5ths of their slave population as meeting in the middle.

Absolutely still a black mark on our nation, but there was some altruistic reasons behind it as well.

It’s absolutely insane to think people legitimately looked at another human and didn’t even think they were a real person. Despite looking human, being able to talk and have children like a human would.

A lot of the founders wanted to put a condemnation of slavery into the founding document, but had to remove it because without southern support, independence would be nearly impossible.

I’m just glad they found this compromise instead of giving the southern states what they wanted and made it a right in the bill of rights to own people.

Again, who cares about spelling, he continuously spreads hate and compares homosexuals to innanimate objects and worse, pedophiles. Why you want a person like that on this website is beyond me, the hurt he brings upon our members far outweigh any contribution he brings (which are basically none anyways). All that is required is courage, no amount of explaning will change him being an awful hate spewing person. You dont need to wait until he says something even more hurtful, just get rid of him so he doesnt have a platform here. There is no excuse to keep ppl like this around other than weird semantics. Stop catering to trolls and do something right for our lgbtq members that have to already put up w this shit irl. Stop being soft on hate.
