They were the better team in that series if nothing else, and more deserving of going to the second round.

I feel like this debate boils down to hypotheticals vs. reality. Like, you can say the Celtics had a better chance against the Nuggets in last year's Finals, but that's pure speculation. I can say that they weren't even good enough to beat the Heat, and the Heat got stomped, so who's to say the Celtics woulda stood a better chance? They got handled by the Dubs the year before, I think hypothetically it wouldn't have been any different against Denver. Neither of us will ever know for sure. Like I said, games aren't played on paper and the only empirical facts we know is that the Heat beat every team in the East that they needed to in order to be in the Finals. In my book, that makes them the best team in the East, at least during the 2023 postseason.

I'll tell you what I'm loving about this year's Playoffs...

I'm not rooting against a single one of these teams. Literally every team that made it to this round, I would be happy to see them win the chip. I'm rooting for different teams in each matchup but I'm not against anyone.
