I’m not surprised at all with this result but doesn’t mean I agree with it. I’m sure Cena wanted to put Gunther over in the biggest way possible but I didn’t wanna see him tap in his final match. Oh well.

One way or another it hurts to say goodbye. The memories will live forever.

The thing is I am like 1000 percent positive Cena made the call to tap out. And it is the right decision. The guy who built a legacy on never giving up giving up in his last match is exactly how he would want to go out. Pay it all forward. He gave Gunther something no one else could give anyone. That’s what you do….and he did it as you know he wanted to

Cena came out and felt like the biggest babyface on the planet. These 19,000 people did not come to see this guy lose. The crowd chanted BULLSHIT at the finish. This was not a crowd concerned about Gunther getting heat going into 2026. They weren’t worried about Cena putting a guy over on the way out. This crowd chanted for Super Cena, literally chanting Don’t Give Up as Cena was in the sleeper hold. They wanted the moment of Cena rising above another monster of the month and standing tall, the way he has countless times before. Gunther winning and having this accolade for the rest of his career is the smarter decision. But when you teach your audience to value MOMENTS over telling actual stories, which they didn’t bother to do for this match, you get them turning on the company for doing the objectively smarter decision.
