With rumors going around that WWE is looking to end the guest host thing shortly, most likely after Mania we're obviously going to need a GM for the show. So who do you guys think would fit best in the role?

IMO, Matt Striker, without a doubt. I know taking him off the table would leave a huge hole in commentary but whatever. What's more important the actual product or the commentary? The guy is phenomenal on the mic, unparalleled wrestling knowledge and I think would probably take a matter of three sentences to cement himself as an amazing heel or face GM. WWE has pure gold in Striker, thankfully he survived his lackluster wrestling stint and made it to this point.
Striker for GM IMO.

or bring back JBL. This time as a GM instead of an announcer.

Yup, that'd be my second choice if he were willing to return.

For me, Id go with Bret. He'd need a couple weeks to get him back into things, but getting Bret on board, on a full time basis, after they've played out whatever storyline there gna go with, will work wonders. Stryker, after a few years. Let him become the No.1 guy on the table first, then, in 5 years or so, sure.

Bret is nowhere near good enough on the mic to pull of something like that.

He definately is. Okay, so he was looking a little frail the other night. But after a few months of this storyline playing out and getting some much needed practice, he'd be ready for it, without a doubt. What he will bring is an enthusiasm and passion that you wouldn't get from anyone else. Plus knowing how to put on a wrestling show, that always helps.

It would make people love wrestling again.

The guy re-debuted last week and supposedly found "closure" with HBK and I don't think the majority of the people gave a flying fuck, I know I sure didn't give two shits about that forced and awkward reconciliation between the two of them. If people didn't care about that, what makes you think they'd want to see Bret shuffle around with his hands in his pockets cutting iffy promos every week.

Besides, how long do you think it would take Bret to become sour on the business again? Not that long.

I say have HHH as GM... Just to keep the haters nicely fuelled-up! : P

SD: Regal (to reprise the push that was abandoned on Raw)

Raw: Interim manager Vikki G. Long term replacement JBL (Imagine how over APA-style JBL would get if he ousted Vikki????)

ECW: Tiffany (She's doing fine - Still a little wooden, but she's getting there and not painful to watch in the meantime.). A fued with Washington could be cool if/when they decide to ditch the chat show too.

I think the debut served its purpose in that, the whole screw job thing is all that surrounded Bret and therefore Shawn by association, (In terms of them being on the same show). I wasn't overly impressed by it, but hey, it was Bret Hart and Shawmn Micheals in the same ring!!!!! N Id disagree, Id say a fair few people gave a shit. Me being one!

Bret needs some time, (12 years away from your job, and you'd be shaky the first night back too) to get himself reacclimatised, grow in confidence and start back with what he loves. The fact the him and Shawn 'burried the hatchet' means that in a few months whenever Bret comes out, we aint got to think that its going to be about montreal, however there's always that possibility, which is kinda exciting.

he would have the kind of influence and authority he always felt he deserved, plus have the chance to shape/ re-shape the business, and add the final chapter to his legacy, that hopefully didn't end in him being screwed.

And that would be the only thing that would make him 'sour' on the business again imo.

P.S, regal on SD with some sort of angle with Vicki, would be epic!

^^^As per Bret having "the chance to shape/ re-shape the business" as a GM...

How'd you figure that'll happen from a pure kayfaybe role like that?

He'll be at the mercy of the writers.

Well, I suppose thats a bit of an exageratted statement, I just think he'd bring so much to the table. However, I' love to see, and like to think that if he came back, Bret would be involved in booking and using his expertise and experience as well being a visible component on the show. I.E GM. Hell i wouldn't even mind hiim being a freakin commentator. I just want him involved. Front and Back.

Aside from my take on the rights and wrongs of the screwjob, I was always a big Bret fan too, but to be honest the one area he DID excel in, which tied every else together for him was his RING WORK (and that's not an option for him anymore). They certainly ain't getting a flair/piper/jericho-like mic god... He'd get by on the mic in a short-to-mid term storyline or GM role providing the storyline and fellow performers were strong enough, but I don't see much else he has to offer in the long term aside from a bit of training and advice for the young guys.

I honestly don't know of any direct experience Bret has of booking and such..... You?

Once the angle with Vince is over, I think the best long term option would be to have him make a long term commitment to the HD and actually work with them as a manager/non-wrestling part of the faction (which would also free Natalia up to be the credible competitor SHE should be by now... Beth v Natalia for a title anyone?).

Then I'd sign up the perenial TNA 'nearly men', the MCMGs(*), and work towards an epic fued between the two.

(*I mean, surely Shelly & Sabin are getting pissed with their booking by now????)

I'm actually getting the vibe we may actually see the HD become anti-Bret if anything. If their current alignment with Jericho(heel/anti-DX) means anything. It seems they're going to be his newest vessel to get to DX, which are faces and currently on the side of Bret (assuming)... so the story just seems like a big fucked up tangle at this point. They'd probably be better off holding off on any Bret/HD interaction until well after Mania.

Totally agree. (I think I said as much already. : P).... I hope DX butt-the-fuck-out and leave it to Vince & Bret for WM too.
