It ended up causing a massive civil war, with the Nazis being deposed and Germany going Democratic again.

The backstory to this too is interesting because basically Anschluss failed so Austria remained independent, and then they tried to force the annexation of the Sudetenland, but then Czechoslovakia said "No.", so Germany declared war on them which led to Britain and France declaring war on Germany.

Meanwhile my nation, the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth, is just chilling, preparing to attempt to annex Latvia and Estonia.

Russia went from Stalinist to a military junta.

In this timeline, World War 2 is just a series of major civil wars throughout Europe.

Spain had their IRL civil war happening, Germany had a massive Civil War, Poland (My starting country), had a Monarchist coup, and an annexation of Lithuania into a return of the Commonwealth. Russia has a three-way Civil War going on with Ukraine, the Stalinists, and the Anti-Stalinist Coalition. South America has had a string of civil wars all over the place, China opted to become partners with Japan, and form a fascist alliance in Eastern Asia, effectively turning the Chinese Civil War on its head.

My current plan is to annex Latvia and Estonia, and then I'll decide whether I want to confront the beast that is Germany or Russia.

Current look at the world situation coming into April of 1940.

I've managed to annex Latvia, next will be Estonia. After that, I may decide to go Southwards towards Hungary, Romania, and Czechoslovakia.

Current look at the world situation coming into May 1939. Nazi Germany (me), has managed to form a more powerful nation than in real life, without any war. Anschluss with Austria took place a year early, and then Czechoslovakia was annexed later the next year. With France and the UK cowardly sticking to appeasement, Hitler took the whole of Yugoslavia, turned Greece into a Reichsprotectorate, and now is currently in the process of diplomatically ceding Slovakia to Poland-Lithuania in exchange for Danzig.

Belgium is undergoing a civil war, the Netherlands are fully under German influence, and Scandinavia has trade deals with Germany as well.

The current Axis Powers are: Germany, Latvia, Estonia, Italy (and their colonies), Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece.

The Allies are: France, UK, Australia, Canada, Indochina, Egypt, Transjordan, India, Oman, South Africa, and New Zealand.

I started a new game of stellaris as the default Earth start. This time instead of colonizing planets really quick like the tutorial implied you should, I'm just taking over solar systems for the resources and building out earth until I become scarce on resources and then I pick between my best candidates to colonize instead of just what's available

Currently playing as Duke Richard of Oxfordshire (really Hwicce and Winchester), after starting as an adventurer. Edward, Henry, and John were children when Richard was an adventurer while Roger and Gerard are children of Duchess Marina, who is Richard's second wife following his ascension to the Duchy. So I'm of course roleplaying some major family infighting and rivalries that are happening behind the scenes.

Update: Edward killed himself, John died from his injuries in a jousting accident, and Henry died of Consumption.

Also Richard birthed two more kids, Arnald and Eleanor. He's 96 years old. My man keeps on trucking.

Kinda sorta not really.

CK3 especially is kind of a role playing game but with strategy mechanics built in.

Big update:

Richard de Britannia passed away in 1159, at the age of 111, as the Duke of Normandy and Kent. His family saw a great cataclysm which would affect the dynasty in ways still to be seen. Edward killed himself from self-flagellation in 1139 at age 62. John suffered a grievous injury and subsequently died in 1142 at age 58. Henry got Consumption and passed away in 1143 at age 63. Roger de Britannia was killed in battle in 1145 at age 23.

With it, Richard de Britannia would outlive six of his 11 children. When it came to pass, his great-grandson via Edward, Sayer de Britannia, inherited Normandy, and Richard's 6th son Gerard inherited Kent. Gerard and Sayer spend a majority of the 1150s battling for each other's lands. Yet both would come away with nothing. Gerard's lands in Kent would be devoured by the crown of England (which had split apart after William The Conqueror's death), and Sayer's lands of Normandy would be taken from him by the Kingdom of France.

Sayer would spite the world, and become a criminal on the English channel, though God would have other plans for him. Sayer died of Typhus in 1166, 100 years after the formation of the British Band by his great grandfather. In its stead came Eleanor de Britannia, Sayer's daughter. She would follow in her father's stead and become a criminal.

Eleanor made progress re-achieving some prestige for the family, though Consumption would take her at age 30. Now comes Eleanor II, the new leader of The British Band, and nicknamed "The Wolf-Slayer". She is a tough woman, with an arrogance of untapped ambition, and a sadistic streak a mile long. She's 2nd in line to the duchy of Cornwall, and she will do whatever it takes to become landed again... even if it means cold-blooded murder. The year is 1203, and the House of Britannia will rise again.

So what is this game exactly? I thought it was an RTS

It's just a history nerd sandbox game, and absolute amazing at it. I play really slow and it's a lot of watching the map if you're not at war. You can do diplomacy, spying, war, whatever. And all the whole random events happen from medieval life like incest, beastiality, bastards, affairs, murder, etc. They're text events with nice animated graphics that you respond to.

The map and a lot of the people are insanely accurate, I did a save starting in Ireland and ended up conquering all of the UK as them and my whole game was basically centered there but meanwhile the entire map had their own stories still happening that I didn't interact with other than trying to marry people to them
