WWE chairman/CEO Vince McMahon's new vision ater taking over control of WWE Studios includes more PG-themed movies and WWE wrestlers in supporting roles rather than playing lead actors, reports Variety.

McMahon's shift is a result of drawing fewer dollars to R-Rated movie offerings starring WWE wrestlers. McMahon wants to offer PG-family movies with established actors in the leading roles.

Another reason for moving WWE talent to supporting roles is to work around TV schedules. "They're too important to take away for two months to work on a movie," said WWE Studios VP Mike Pavone.

One example of the change is WWE passing on a third version of "The Marine" series that would have required a WWE wrestler in the lead role of another action movie, and instead casting John Cena in a supporting role for "Brother's Keeper."

Variety reports "Brother's Keeper" will come out this summer, while Big Show's movie, "Knucklehead," has been pushed back to a fall 2010 release after it was slated for release in April.

Randy Orton is also slated for a movie role. He will be featured in a "coming-of-age" drama titled "Big Red" that we reported several weeks ago will be set in the 1960s. WWE also has a "thriller" starring Batista and two more comedies, one of which will star John Cena, in the works.

WWE is scheduled to film nine movies by 2012 as the company takes over control of their film division to handle production and distribution that includes theaters, video, and eventually WWE TV when the channel launches in one-to-two years.

According to Variety, Randy Orton will star in the WWE Films production of Big Red. There is no word on what role Orton will play yet. Here is the description of the film… "In 1965, as the world changes all around him, 12-year-old Andy Nichol comes of age when he's asked by his favorite teacher, Mr. Simon, to partner with school outcast Big Red for an English assignment."

So Orton will either be a 12 year old boy or a teacher. Both roles seem PERFECT for him. :D

^^^^ Ahem drop it lol

I hope at least 2 or 3 of the movies they will make between now and 2012 do not all go straight to dvd. At least get one or two more to the mainstream.

I wanted Cena in another Marine movie, but looks like we won't be getting it.

^^^Wait. Condemned was pretty damn good. Hell, I'd rate it higher than See No Evil and probably higher than The Marine. The Marine 2 = classic, but in the bad way, lol.

Condemned wasn't that bad. I loved See No Evil, I think that character wise and what they did with the movie was the best out of them all. Kane suited the big horror monster role really. Plus that move in parts was also legitimately creepy.

Vinnie Jones made the Condemmed good. I hated Austin's soft spoken character. And since he was the star and in most of the scenes, kinda hurt it for me.

The Marine > The Condemned > See No Evil > Kennedy's Shit on a DVD

I refuse to see the Marine 2, because I know it cannot fill John Triton's shoes.

Condemned was the best WWE movie in my opinion. At least the plot was creative and trying to something new. Death Race which came out after it was pretty much the same idea but with cars.

Batista's thriller will focus on whether or not he will get a rematch or not.
