Without any spoilers and without having seen this week's episode of the show....

Apparently Owens is injured and could miss the next few months of action. What a damn shame, though I guess having Zayn v. Balor v. Neville for the vacant title could be a hell of a way to fill the next special, and tread water until Owens returns. Again just speculating.

Owens gettin' injured can add more intrigue to the eventual Zayn rematch. Almost like it doesn't really hurt anything about the feud, just lengths it and the story of Zayn/Owens(Generico/Steen) gets even better if WWE doesn't shot itself in the foot that is. There is a good enough talent pool on NXT already as it is that can fill the void.

He can show up on NXT every time someone moves up to the main roster with that "I am the measuring stick! If you want to be the future of this company, you'll have to go through me to do it" line.
