The NFL is about to change in a way that no one had foreseen. For the first time ever, all rosters will change due to a Fantasy Draft, in an effort to get fans to become invested in the off-season. The goal here is to make the NFL a 12-month a year league. This will add a wrinkle into a lot of the current storylines in the NFL.
Drew Brees outdueled Peyton Manning to win the Super Bowl XLIV. Can Brees continue his career as a top quarterback with a new team and lead them to another Super Bowl? What about Manning, who will get a chance to play with a new team for the first time in career? Brett Favre just put together a stunning season at age 39…but he’ll be on his fourth team in four years, can he make one last run? Will Tom Brady prove he’s more than just a product of the Patriots system? Will one of the old guard of running backs, names like LaDainian Tomlinson, show that he has more elite football in him? Will new top defenses emerge? Anything can happen in this brand new NFL.

Ok, obviously some fiction here. Some notes before we get started. We’re using a Madden from the PS2 days, and we won’t be using any NCAA games, so future draft classes will be fictional (so no Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, etc.). For disclosure I don’t plan to sim games, but to actually run them with CPU vs. CPU. This is because the sim engine for late PS2 Maddens are pretty bad. This will move a lot slower than Modern NBA, but hopefully it will be just as enjoyable to follow!
