So there's thousands of movies that have been made, and many of those into sequels, trilogies, and so on. There are movies that get better with each sequel and those that got worse as they went on. So what are the series of films you think continued to get better and what are those that you think sucked as they went on? (prequels included)

Good Series:
Star Wars
Lord of the Rings
Jurrasic Park
X-Men
Rocky
Pirates of the Caribbean

Bad Series:
Spider-man
Saw (starting to lose it's "sting")
The Date movie/epic movie franchise

The Spider-Man series started off good with the 1st one, but the last one was a complete love story. And for some reason, all the villains became good guys at the end with the exception of the 1st one.

I'll almost completely agree with you. Of the ones you named, I'd sort them like this:

Good:
Spiderman 2
Rocky 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Pirates o fthe Caribean 2
Lord of the Rings 2, 3

Bad:
X-Men
Spiderman 3
Saw (any after 1 and 2)

There's other sequels, but I just got out, and can't be bothered thinking of any other than the ones you named, I may add some later.

There shouldn't be any film sequels, everything should end like The Sopranos.

I'm glad they're not going with another Jurassic Park sequel as well. As for the topic, SAW is definitely one of the most dragged concepts ever. They were good at the start but now they are just ridiculous.

I'm going to have to agree that the Spiderman films after 1 both sucked, and they really need to step it up for the next one.

Also, I heard there will be a Pirates of the Caribbean 4... 3 sucked imo, and 2 was the best, they also better step up as well

Actually, they are.
Oh, and things still can end like "The Sopranos". The sequels still can end like that.

to be fair i dont think lord of the rings should count becuase it was always a trilogy each film a diffrent "act" in it as it were therefore not "sequels" per se

Nice source.

Still though. Does anyone actually want to see the return of the Ninjasaurus? I mean, he's bigger than the T-Rex, nastier too. But SOMEHOW he can't be seen or heard until it's too late.

That fucking thing was a ninjutsu master!

Back To The Future is the greatest trilogy IMO.

It was like one long movie cut in to three parts as each one starts off right where the other left off. I still watch them every single time they come on.
