[Gimmick]

Adam Cole vs. Silas Young - ROH Defy or Deny II
Yep, I'm officially a fan of Silas Young. After only two matches it's clear that this guy is an exciting (33 year old) prospect in ROH. Here he managed put on a really good performance against the consistently good Adam Cole in a match filled with a high tempo, nice sequences and perfectly executed moves. Everything flowed really well together and electric crowd made everything come off that much better. A great weekend of performances from both of these men. ***1/2

Davey Richards vs. Kyle O'Reilly - ROH Defy or Deny II
It's strange to see that after all these months they decided to have this match take place at a house show. The feud may have been underwhelming enough, but I would have expected they'd have this match at a bigger show. Anyway, I thought it was a really solid match. They could have done with slowing down the match at bit more in parts, but knowing these two guys I guess that was never going to happen. The wrestling from top to bottom was top notch though, so I can't have too many complaints. ***1/2

WWE Night of Champions 2011 - World Heavyweight Championship: Randy Orton vs. Mark Henry

This is just wonderful. Without a doubt Henry’s best match of his career as he’s finally being booked correctly. The finishing sequences was great i loved the storytelling with Orton tiring himself out trying to beat his opponent and Henry capitalizing with his superior strength. I remember watching the feud and thinking no way they put the title Henry, Orton just to the belt back a month ago and then watching this LIVE and my JAW just dropping. The last time i was LEGIT this shocked was when King Booker won the world title. ***1/2 The looks on the faces of some of the fans makes the title win that much better.

Kevin Steen vs. Roderick Strong vs. Eddie Edwards vs. Michael Elgin - ROH Defy or Deny II
The perfect kind of Elimination Fatal 4-Way in many ways. No need for a big story to be told, or any need for a body part to be worked on, just 4 guys going at it from bell to bell. That's what happened here, with every guy busting out their usual moves, while exchanging in some good spots and sequences. Most of the good stuff came from Elgin as well, who, although was eliminated first still showcased some amazing strength on all three guys. The only gripes I have with the match was how easily Elgin was eliminated in the end, and also the finish of the match. The low-blow and Package Piledriver should have been enough to down Edwards, and also would have given Steen a cheap win. But instead we saw Edwards kick out, only to be hit with the Piledriver again for the 3-count. Not a major gripe, but you'd wonder why they insisted on making it go on that tiny bit longer. Still though, it was really fun stuff all round. ****

WWE Night of Champions 2011 - WWE Championship: John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio

Cena drives out ADR's Ferrari to steal his thunder. Justin Roberts starts to introduce both but ADR steals the mic and wants Ricardo to do it in Spanish instead. Lawler: “Yeah, take that you gringos!” Cena then gets the stick and cuts a promo introducing himself. Cole: “What a suckup!” I was mad surprised they put the title back on Cena already and off Del Rio after less than a month, but the match itself was great stuff and far better than I had expected it to be. I just wish Del Rio would of just work the arm more. The guy can hit enziguri kicks from anywhere and delivers a flying senton splash, but he can’t work the arm when his finisher is centered around the arm. ***1/2

WWE Night of Champions 2011 - No Disqualification Match: Triple H vs. CM Punk

If Hunter loses, he must resign as company C.O.O. This was originally supposed to be Nash facing Punk, but he wasn't cleared in time for the show so they plugged Triple H into the match instead. The match was technically fine and entertaining for a brawl, both men did a great job of bumping and selling for each other. but then the overbooking at the end happen and sure it made sense seeing how Johnny Ace wants HHH out of the COO job, Nash still had issues with both men and Awesome-Truth is pissed off because, well really i have no idea why they got involved apart from both guys thinking WWE has a CONSPIRACY against them. But what i don't get is why would Miz/Truth beat up HHH then put Punk top for the cover, just for a couple of minutes later Punk hits the GTS and truth pulls him off the cover? ***1/2

WWE Hell In A Cell 2011 - Sheamus vs. Christian

No real story here as WWE is building Sheamus as that number one or two babyface and Christian wasn't doing anything plus they know he's a solid worker so lets just throw them on a PPV and hope they get the crowd going. A not to anyone surprisement they delivered in a great match that was full of counters and exchanges. ***1/4

WWE Hell In A Cell 2011 - WWE Tag Team Championship: Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler vs. Air Boom

Cole blames the viewers for the nickname Air Boom and says it's the worst nickname since Harlem Heat. anyway the action was hot, the pace was fast which made the 10 minutes given just fly by. But while i was watching it just didn't have that feel to a PPV to it (if you know what i mean, it's like i was watching a Raw or SD match) ***

WWE Hell In A Cell 2011 - Hell in a Cell Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Randy Orton vs. Mark Henry

This was a lot better than it may have looked on paper and Henry comes out of it looking like the biggest monster heel champion in many years, but i have no idea why this had to be a Cell match, the feud wasn't even that bitter or violent for them to even be in a cell. Thankfully they delivered on psychology and the heat segment by Mark was good, Orton's face once Mark kicked out of the RKO was phenomenal. ***

WWE Hell In A Cell 2011 - Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match: Alberto Del Rio vs. CM Punk vs. John Cena

This was a very enjoyable match, that had great psychology as everyone pretty much knew exactly when picked their moments to strike. They did have good usage of all sorts of crazy table spots, chairs, and good usage of the cage as well, especially from a standpoint of story-telling, as late on, plus locking Cena out of the cell was pretty much brilliant in my opinion. Except for that (to be fair, that was a big part of the story of the match) this really would have been just as good had it been a standard triple-threat. But what the match will be known for will be the ending, as the Cage was being lifted, two men in jackets came down and attacked all three men AKA Miz and R-Truth appear in black hoodies to attack everybody in the cell. COO-HHH and John Laurinaitis head out to put a stop to this, but the cell has been lowered back to the floor! The locker room empties, heel and face alike to stop this. Oh well. BOLT CUTTERS TO THE RESCUE! New Orleans cops cuff Miz and Truth and carry them out. Before they get escorted to the back, COO-HHH EXPLODES and lays a beating on them. ***1/2

WWE Vengeance 2011 - WWE Tag Team Championship: Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler vs. Air Boom

These guys are perfect at opening a PPV. They don't steal the show, but they excite you enough to keep your hopes up that the rest of the event is going to be entertaining. We saw lots of back-and-forth action and the match never really slowed down. It was even better than their previous match last month at Hell in a Cell. ***1/4

WrestleMania 19: Shawn Michaels versus Chris Jericho

Ten years later and this match still holds up. Michaels has only been back for a couple of months and both he and Jericho have stated he was himself heading into this match. Whatever Michaels thought he was missing, he found in this match. Both men told an excellent story, Michaels did an excellent job selling the back that Jericho worked on for the majority of the match. They had the crowd in the palm of their hands for the entire match. Great match and I loved the Jericho swerve at the end. **** 1/2

WWE Vengeance 2011 - Sheamus vs. Christian

But this wasn't very different from the matches they've already had at Hell In A Cell, and on Smackdown. Again, glad it was given a fair bit of time, and it was solid, but what's the point of having Sheamus go over 3 straight times. This one started off slow because the crowd seemed drained from the last few matches, but once these two guys got their signature counter-trading and high impact moves going along the crowd got right back into things and this was another great match with a hot finish. ***

WWE Vengeance 2011 - Triple H & CM Punk vs. The Miz & R-Truth

Even though Triple H did most of the work, bumping and such, but I never really got into it. Miz and Truth just don't captivate me at all, I find their offence boring and their attempts at getting heat Is just awful. Kevin Nash's appearance and taking out Triple H when the ref wasn't looking was predictable. So with HHH out of the picture, The Awesome Truth hit their double team finisher and picked up the win. Nash then delivers a powerbomb to Triple H, post match. This was quite uneventful, which was disappointing. **3/4

WWE Vengeance 2011 - World Heavyweight Championship: Champion Mark Henry vs. Big Show

This match had a certain intensity to it that you don't see very often. These guys told a great story, going after each other like crazy and resorting to whatever they needed to win, even going to the top rope. I don’t think anyone should have been expecting a classic here, but again, Henry does a good job of playing the believable giant, with realistic offence, and his matches are always well paced. What this’ll be known for was the spectacular ending of the Superplex Spot the broke the ring, in a carbon copy of Lesnar vs Big Show from Smackdown back in the day. ***
