Variety.com.com has an article up on WWE Films. The article that notes the next projects for WWE Films are a remake of "Missing in Action," a comedy called "Suckerpunch" which would star the Big Show, another straight-to-DVD sequel to "Scorpoion King," and a sequel to "12 Rounds" starring John Cena. No mention of the Triple H Western that was supposed to have been in the works.

Variety.com also has an article up on the rise of WrestleMania, featuring comments from Vince & Linda McMahon.

Variety.com also has an article up on WWE expanding ancillary business. The article notes that WWE plans to expand DVD, online, and magazine releases.

Variety.com also has a WWE history timeline.

The following was issued on WWE.com: Kid Rock and Nicole Scherzinger to perform at WrestleMania Written: March 23, 2009

WWE has announced that Kid Rock and lead Pussycat Doll, Nicole Scherzinger, will perform at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania on April 5 at Reliant Stadium in Houston.

Five-time Grammy nominated artist Kid Rock is slated to play a medley of his hit records, including “Cowboy,†“Bawitdaba,†“Rock & Roll Jesus†and “So Hott.â€

In WrestleMania tradition, Scherzinger will open the show with a heartwarming rendition of “America the Beautiful.†Scherzinger joins many musical legends, including Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Ashanti and John Legend, who have kicked-off the pop culture extravaganza.

Members of the WWE Universe from 24 countries, including all 50 states and seven Canadian provinces, are expected to attend the event, making the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania an occasion only two of America’s biggest recording artists could handle.

Tickets for the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania are still available at Ticketmaster outlets throughout Texas and at www.ticketmaster.com. Be sure to get yours now to be part of history at Reliant Stadium in Houston. Or watch the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania live, and only on pay-per-view, April 5 at 5:30 p.m. ET."

Well, atleast we won't have to hear "All Summer Long" one more time. Wasn't Bawitaba for the Undertaker? Or the Raw theme? Or something?

Rock and Roll Jesus sucks.

So this is the '25th Anniversary'. They've had John Legend, Aretha Franklin, Ray Fucking Charles, and now for the biggest of them all..

Nicole Scherzinger?

:laugh2:

Btw, Kid Rock sucks as well.

20 bucks Lilian pronounces Nicole's name wrongly at WM. Not that anyone knows how to...

My thoughts exactly!

I vote AC/DC for 'America The Beautiful'! :y:

...They should have had Marylin Manson do that by now too!

AC/DC are on a Euro Tour, I almost said for them to perform would make much more sense, but then I remember. And yeah, I do know your post is sarcastic Airfixx, but I felt the need to point that out.

So is Kid Rocks performance just going to be completely random?

You can sort of understand Nicole Scherzinger (not that hard to say) as they need someone to sing America the Beautiful.

But I dont think Kid Rock performs anyones theme tune or any song linked to WWE...so will it just be a random performance!?

Kid Rock did American badass for Undertaker once upon a time, so I guess he kind of still has a link to the company. Shame really given how bad he sucks.

Not the most exciting news of all time.

But I just remembered, Nicole can't sing. WTF will she be doing there then? I would mark if she was a surprise entrant in the 25 Divas Battle Royale and came out to 'When I Grow Up'.
