For sure, canned meat doesn't kill people outright, it's mostly if it's ill-prepared or not canned properly.

From the story I linked, the guy's entire stock of sardines were ill-prepared and went bad. He threw most of it out but kept some of it, which is... extremely dangerous. If most of his stock was visibly bad, then it stands to reason that all of his stock is bad and should not be used.
