I'd agree mostly, but also, I think if he'd win the title, the place to do it would be Chicago, and to be as a transitional reign to MJF

But I think, in this fantasy scenario, assuming things would have been iced over, him beating a heel Cody before losing it to MJF would be box office

And also I think if Cody would have stayed, had that brief heel turn as champion, he'd then have the chance to turn face again before fighting for the belt as a babyface

But in IRL, with the circumstances around how he was being recieved, maybe not liking the pressures of being both management and a wrestler, he was justified to leave, and as we see now, it was all worth it

Though I still think him winning last year would have been preferred in my book, even if the win was satisfying
