I mean technically by the rules yeah. But he only ran the first 13 laps. Parker Kligerman ran the rest of it and took the checker flag. But the record book will show Connor Zilisch got his 7th win of the season

Also it's kinda weird that they allow that. Isn't it a bit of an unfair advantage to substitute drivers?

The worst case of that tbh happened to Aric Almirola. He started a race before because Denny Hamlin was off doing quilfying for the Cup Race so couldn't start the Busch Series (the now Xfinity Series) race. Aric Almirola was actually doing great in the race. Denny gets there kinda late into the race...and the team takes Aric out of the car for Denny. Denny wins it... but its counted as Aric first win in the series. He eventually gets won and said how's thats what he counts as his first .

most of the time the driver doesn't win tbh. Like this and the time I mentioned are only times I recall it happened

Like nowadays it doesn't matter as much with playoffs. But back in the day, it happened so drivers could still get points while trying to heal from an injury.

Still seems really bad rules... is there at least a minimum of rounds they must drive? It feels like there should be for that.
