With how connected the cultures and the world is nowadays, why the fuck are people desperately trying other people how to "properly" eat what

The main culinary culture is really shifting to experimenting with hybrid cuisines now and some of them are def failed experiments but we're also finding some cuisines are amazing together and we've had them both for a hundred years but everyone said it was a sin to mix so we didn't

Damn people wanna pretend they're unique individuals, but wanna make people do and buy the same things as they do, wear the same clothes, eat certain foods in a certain way etc...

As religion becomes less important the negatives don't go away they just get bundled up with nationalism or political identities instead tbh lol

2000 years ago it was my God vs your God, we stepped up to my government vs your government, but didn't change any tactics or rhetoric so it's the same

I know I'm probably just taking the phrasing too literally but any kind of "so and so doesn't belong in such and such" shit is a form of thinking I cannot comprehend. When it comes to sheer subjective opinion, that doesn't pertain to anything harmful specifically. Pineapple doesn't belong on pizza, deathmatch spots don't belong in wrestling, things like that. What a terrible perspective to view the world through.

It's probably healthier to just translate it from dum dum speak to mean "I don't like x on y" instead bc that's what they actually mean, they just can't communicate properly but yeah it always irks me when people give no exceptions statements like that

And then you respond and they just instantly go to "oh so I'm not allowed to have an opinion" when their opinion was policing all of humanity lol

Like if I see some random list of "best anything in the world" and sometimes seems wack af on there, food or a movie or whatever, the first thing I want to do is try and figure out why people like it, not tell them why they shouldn't

It feels like on the wrestling thing specifically a lot of people don't understand the difference from saying "I don't like this" vs "I don't think anyone should do this or enjoy it" they think if they don't like something it really should be banned lol
