I dunno I'm really getting bored with Edge's schtick of winning World Titles by treacherous means. Has he won ANY title cleanly? I'm trying to remember. I understand a heel is supposed to cheat sometimes, but ALL the time? I would like to see Edge undergo some tweaks in his character. He doesn't need to turn face, but something different than the ultimate opportunist who never wins a title clean. Encores get tiresome after awhile, because you come to expect it. Surprise me.

You misunderstand me. At first it was shocking like when he cashed in his first MITB. But after awhile it was getting to that point that he needs a new act. I didn't know exactly HOW he'd win another belt, but I knew it wouldn't be clean cause it never is. It's always pretty obvious that Lita( back in the day), or Vickie(currently), or one of Vickie's cronies(Big Show, The Edge Heads, Chavo etc.) is gonna help him somehow.
He can still be a heel, and get clean wins. I don't think that's too much to ask.

In my opinion although cheating is what a heel is supposed to do, the amount of cheating and trickery Edge does is ridiculous. The guy can't even pull off a single actual wrestling move anymore without immediately following up with either a cheap shot or getting mauled by the face. It gets to the point where he looks so damn weak, that you can't believe he could beat ANYBODY without cheating.

So basically under that logic, Santino Marella can be World Champion 9 times. Hell I CAN BE world champion 9 times. I don't need any wrestling talent, I don't need any sort of training, preparation or effort. All I gotta do is give the guy a low blow a rake to the eyes and a shot with his own belt or briefcase and I can be a WWE main eventer!

Edge needs to completely drop the Vickie angle -_-

He should start acting like the Rated R Superstar from when he first won the belt. That would make Edge more watchable to be honest.

Maybe, maybe not. It's tough though. When you think about it, Edge does this role better than anyone has in a long time. He continues to get heat for it, and he continues to make it work. I can see why they stick with it. It works. With that being said, I wish he could've won cleanly last night. For a while, he looked to be getting a bit more of his rugged, crazy side back, but that all went away when he 'cheated' to win. I'm glad he won, and I can understand why they did and continue to do it, so I can't actually complain, but as a matter of personal preference, I'd like to see a bit more actual winning out of him, while getting a bit more brutal and viscious.
Oh, and TJ, the Vickie thing has been dropped for a while.

I would accept those terms as a wrestling fan. lol. Just like alot of smarks would shut up about Cena if he simply "turned heel" I would shut up if Edge would just drop Vickie once and for all. Yes we get it, they are both heat machines, so Edge doesn't need Vickie to get over, AT ALL!

Edit: And the Vickie thing hasn't actually been dropped since Show and Edge are still fueding/working together. Until I see an official promo with Vickie moving on with someone else/something else and Edge returning to his true roots as a crazy heel, his angle isn't dropped yet.

Edge is the Ultimate Opportunist, hence, he always win taking advantage of the situation. And if you're looking this way

You're ignoring the other half, as while Edge does cheat, he actually does take a beating, and actually does wrestle and take a shitload of punishment. Sure, he did sneak at NWO into the EC, but he wrestled and beat everybody in that EC. Sure, he won because of the interference, but how strong had he looked from getting up from all those AA.


Edge's character rotates on the fact that he takes a lot of punishment and he trusts his wrestling skills (see his clean victories against other talent), but when that isn't enough, and because he's desperate on always being the champion, he resorts on every trick he can do to be the champion.

He should pretty much be getting wins like Randy Orton, some clean, some not so clean. He looks weak as hell right now, what with the love angle and not winning a match by himself in god knows how long.... He just has lost his it factor recently from the booking. Distance him from Vickie, and he should be back to normal in a couple months.

I'm going to have to half agree with this one.
To say that he can't execute a wrestling move without cheating is ridiculous. The guy is incredible in the ring and works some fucking amazing matches.
I am however disgusted with this whole "Ultimate Oppurtunist" bullshit...another wonderful name tag that Cole slapped someone with that sadly stuck.
The problem is that guys like Orton...although occasionally cheating to win... are booked as a legitmate threat in the ring and a BAMF.
Edge on the other hand has really never cleanly picked up a world title...with the exception of cashing in his MITB...which was on already beaten men.
Don't get me wrong, Edge has been my favorite along with Jericho for a long time now. However, I really think it's about time we see him pick up a clean victory for a world title. I think part of the problem is that he's been heel for so damn long that he has never really had the oppurtunity to do so.
On the plus side they do keep coming up with great ways for him to pick up the belt so it never really gets old.
Although he's a heel...and yeah he's supposed to cheat...he does look insanely weak right now. Separating him from Vicky while looking like this was a shit move. A clean win over Cena would have really given him such momentum going in to work as top heel on Smackdown alone. He's got no lackeys and no backup right now. It should be interesting to see how his character morphs to compensate for that.

YESSS!! finally someone agrees with me..im also sick of edge and his stupid and boring ways of winning!! i dont know whats up with everyone saying hes the best and it adds to wwe! gosh this is one of the reasons i stopped watching wwe and whenever hes on, i switch the channel ..the guy is a piece of shit in and out of the ring! and to answer your question HELL NO! hes never won a heavyweight title cleanly ..for all those fucks who say hes the best and is a decorated champ..FUCKYOU!
