Hopefully the time back in NXT will do well for Axel, I like the guy as a wrestler and his mic work isn't AWFUL, I heard some comparisons prior to seeing him in the WWE to DiBiase Jr but I don't see it, Curtis has heart for the business Ted I don't believe really did.

He had a really decent match against Itami this week. They let him show off a little bit (before losing the match) and his trash-talking was spot on.

It's good to see him in NXT, at least he's doing something useful there.

He just needs a proper chance to shine. He will impress if given the right opportunity and/or feud. I could see him doing some great things with Generico.

I've always had the feeling that Axel/McGillicutty/Hennig has the stuff to be a real star, maybe even a guy who could stick in the main event for a while, but I also feel like his personality has been completely stifled the entire time he's been on my television.

I figure if they'll trust him and let him show who he is, he'll be fine.

And if they do and he doesn't, at least we won't have any doubt that it's him, not WWE.

I feel like Tyler Breeze and Axel could have a nice program.. or maybe Rojo Mawley.

Is he still going to do a real man gimmick? That could be loads of fun, especially with Regal there

For now it looks like he'll have the same character that he did when he came back to the main roster recently for that short period of time.

Ah, I'm sure he'll get some input and his character will slowly evolve into greatness.

Hopefully the damage done by Vince isn't beyond repair.

Make this guy shine, Hunter.

Yeah, they'll most likely adjust him a tad.. if they didn't feel him on the main roster I doubt they'd waste time for him in NXT without altering him slightly.

I like Axel going to NXT. I absolutely care nothing for him, and wouldn't be bothered much if he was gone from the roster completely before this. I believe he can be better in the ring than I have seen, and I like that he is being given this chance to show it. I liked him in his match against Itami this past week. I had almost forgotten that he was even around, and this could be fun watching him show what he can do.

I don't think he's bad in the ring at all, being a good mic worker was never his strong side, though and hopefully he'll improve in that field.
But, he can definitely put on a good match and has some sweet moves. Can't wait till he shines in matches with the likes of Balor and Zayn.

Everybody deserves a second chance and I'm glad he's got it. It's like he was doomed when he joined Heyman. I love Heyman, but Cesaro, Axel and Ryback have all failed while being paired with Heyman. It's kinda weird.

I agree about him being a good worker. The Heyman thing didn't work for any of them I think because they just never really went anywhere with them and it ended up not making any sense for any of them. Axel most of all just seemed like a hanger-on trying to ride Heyman's coattails to success, instead of a partnership that benefitted them both like what we saw from Heyman and Punk being together. Going this route with NXT just makes more sense overall. Plus, with the growing popularity of NXT, this gives Axel a chance to showcase himself possibly to new audiences that might not know him as well and not have prejudices already against him for his past.

You know, Axel is a funny deal. It's clearly obvious that they want him to succeed, but they just can't make the dude work. I feel this is probably his last shot, I guess they're gonna leave him in NXT and expect him to develop a good character/get over and if it fails, well, too bad for him.

Watched his match the other day - dude is thinning on top bad. Lights in the NXT arena highlight it lol
