Usually I would agree... but BOTS is something very special. Winning that sideBOTS I already couldn't believe, especially with it being about Covers... then winning an actual BOTS season right afterwards still feels unreal.

I'm hoping you don't start this until a few days into January. My reasoning is this: I can get help from one of my students. Yes, in the year of our Lord 2025, I am going to seek help from somebody who is barely a teenager to determine which songs will be popular in a given category. This should tell everybody exactly how bad I am when it comes to popular songs. I'm only half joking.

So @PhantomStar since you said you love music maybe you’d be interested in this.
ok for anyone new this is what BOTS is
it's called Battle of the Songs because each round people will face off against each other in a head to head match up
each person must PM me a song that matches that rounds theme for example "songs that have the word rock in the title"
I will then post the match ups, the matches will not say who's songs are who's as to keep the judging based on the song and not the person who picked it
people will also rank their favorite three songs from the round and the top 3 get bonus points
It's fun as fuck
Spotify accessibility is a requirement for this as it's the easiest way to do this thing

Ok so we have 22 and I’m gonna lock that in if two more people want in I’ll expand it. And I’m gonna go ahead and release the topics this season. This isn’t the order they’ll be used per say.

• Song from a Movie not just on the soundtrack but actually prominently played in the movie itself. When you hear it you think of that movie
• Country song pretty self explanatory
• Male/Female Duet this time making it more specific it has to be them actually singing together not just one of them on the hook and no rap songs this time around
• A song from the Year you were Born
• Song with Up Down Left or Right in the song title
• Songs with an animal in the title
• A song with “good” or “bad” in the title
• A song with a persons name in the title
• Songs from 2001
• A song that would Make a Good Entrance Theme that hasn’t been used as an entrance theme in the past
• A song with a body part in the title
• A song that is almost all not in English. Only because some foreign songs have like an English word or two in the chorus or hook.

For the two newbies there is a list of previous used songs that aren’t eligible. It’s a Spotify playlist and there’s a google doc that I need to update last seasons songs in. Unless someone else wants to do it for me. We start January 5th.
