there's no talk of non-competes. He may have just been terminated immediately. There were seemingly issues of some sort that could have resulted in a "we don't give a shit if you show up anywhere else we don't wanna see you again" mentality.

The 90 days stuff is not ever a real non-compete. They just don't terminate contracts until 90 days after they inform the talent they will be let go.

See there's one thing that disputes that though. That's when Black showed up in AEW after 30 days instead of the 90 days, because they forgot to update him from the NXT contract. I don't know isn't they do it differently now, but yeah it's definitely have had to be a thing for that mistake to have happened. Plus you'll see them sometimes doing indie dates before the 90 days is up as well. Just nothing on Television.

We don't really know the rules now tbh and I think it would be healthier if we admitted that. That TV only rule for example was basically just a no TNA rule at first but it got real muddy when indie companies started streaking regularly, I can think of a lot of examples in the last few years where Gcw announced talent exactly at their 30 or 90 day end dates.

Andrade himself even got a special thing when he got released the first time so he could show up in AEW earlier but as time goes on it doesn't seem like that's actually an option for everyone, bc some still act like they're forced to wait 90 where that would be very misleading of they were choosing to for the paycheck. I think it's mostly a thing nowadays where no one sees it worth fighting bc the non competes with pay aren't that unreasonable especially if you have another contract with AEW for example so take that time off to refresh. But the ones that do fight it seem to get out easily

I think also even in the old days you could waive the 90 days if requested to work earlier as a couple did so Andrade might have done that
