I think houseshows is where the performers should learn the tricks of the trade and find their shortcuts to maximize the audience by doing the least. The mark of a great worker imo. Ever wonder why a Jericho shoulder tackle gets more of a reaction than a Cody Rhodes moonsault? Jericho stops and stares at the crowd, involving them. Same goes for Cena, milking the "let's go Cena....Cena sucks!" before he goes for moves. It's just the little things that workers should look for to make it easier on themselves.

Yeah... but playing to the crowd isn't just something you pick up from house shows. It should be something you just have, to be honest. It's a basic element of match psychology.

It very true how basic it is, but it's something not everyone can do. I.E. Brie Bella.

It doesn't negate the fact that it's an invaluable tool that noone masters until years into their careers. Basic match psychology was something killed off by people who thought a good match was all you need, not knowing that storytelling makes a match memorable.

Basic match stuctures should always be this, seesaw, seesaw...get the heat, then the waltz and someone slips on a banana peel.
