Hangman recently lost the world championship, and remember, when Okada lost the IWGP title after his monster run, we had Balloon Okada, he lost his way. During that time, he faced Hangman in the G1 as Hangman was in his first and only G1, and gave him a test. Afterwards, it took some time for Okada to rediscover his fire and reclaim the championship. And seeing Hangman grow since their first encounter, and from Japan, there is that respect where Okada may want to face Hangman as A: A challenge, and B: to maybe remind him what made him champion so that Hangman doesn't have a fall like Okada did

thats a great analysis . if this match happens thats two matches that I didnt really consider that much at first but make a heck of a lot of sense. Never really considered Punk vs Tanahashi but I think everything about it makes a lot of sense too.
