I'm probably the closest to anti-religion here and if anything my biggest gripe with them aside from indoctrination of the youth is that they aren't taxed. Which they should, just as a matter of opinion.

To expand on that, in a tldr version of things:

- Are you an organized religion? Yes

- Are you recognized as an official religion by the limits set by the US Government? Yes

- Do you own property within the borders of the United States? Yes

Then you should be taxed according to the value of stated property, at a %, of all properties owned within the United States of America.

It's the indoctrination of the youth that I hate the most.

I dated a guy once and after we did some stuff, he decided he didn't want to be gay. He then later accepted himself and was also cross dressing for a while. But his religion kept making him ashamed of what he is doing and he believes that conversion therapy works. He advocates for it. Religion has literally destroyed his life because it keeps him from being himself.

As horrible as my father was, the one thing he never did was indoctrinate us religiously. He let us explore religion and find what was best for us.

In other words, they're not being taxed for being a religion, they're being taxed for owning property. Which everyone should if they own property in the US, pay taxes, I mean.

This is why I tend to try to give more leeway on these things as long as it’s more so their indoctrinated hateful opinions, and they’re not actively pursuing harmful policy. It honestly sucks when we’re talking politics because I will agree with these people more on the non-social policies. I kind of wish there was just a Christian party itself and then a separate Republican party could just be its own thing that focuses on the fiscal stuff and international issues.

Thankfully politicians tend to wise up, politically speaking, even when they don’t personally agree with something. Like I was saying earlier gay marriage policy, and by that I mean, trying to repeal it has been dying off because even Republicans see that it’s a losing issue.

Make that social conservative party and not specifically Christian because there are some cool Christians that probably don’t believe in the social conservative polices like I do as Roy said.

This way, other religious social conservative could also vote for the social conservative party.

Thankfully politicians tend to wise up, politically speaking, even when they don’t personally agree with something. Like I was saying earlier gay marriage policy, and by that I mean, trying to repeal it has been dying off because even Republicans see that it’s a losing issue.

When the Defense of Marriage act and Don't Ask Don't Tell both came out (different times of course), I saw this as what it really was. It was the beginning of the end for keeping gays out of the military and it was the beginning of the end of not allowing gay marriage.

These things happen as people see the tides turning against their beliefs so they legislate the beliefs and then eventually overturn them. It is now happening with trans issues. They are being legislated because the tides are turning. Things in about 20 years will be drastically different...

I don't know. I've played a lot of those games and that still was graphic to me.

I’m a pretty avid fan of slasher movies and I’ve seen my fill of gore and that video still heavily affected me.

I have seen things that would give people nightmares. While I was in school and I was going in the direction of profiling serial killers, I saw some really graphic videos and photos that most people will never get a chance to see.

But I am not desensitized to it. I am going to do my best to NOT see the video of this happening because even with all of the real gore I have seen in my life... I would probably want to start drinking after seeing it.

I haven’t seen the close up video but saw the far away version which was not pleasant. I remember someone I knew that wasn’t as internet savvy as me asking me to look up an execution video and I didn’t want to but I got talked into it even though I wasn’t happy about it.

Although I think the Ukrainian girl’s murder on the train, well not as gory in the video is a little bit more gut-wrenching because she gets stabbed in the neck and you can see her brain trying to understand what’s going on and she’s just scared and doesn’t even realize that she’s been stabbed and then she kind of slowly slumps to the floor and then you can see the blood start to pool all over the floor.

Anyways, I’m still pretty out of it and just numb about everything that’s happened the last 24 hours so if there’s any still lingering issues from this thread that I don’t recall addressing feel free to bring it up with me so it doesn’t leave this thread or leave this day.
