Post-PPV Update:

Adam Cole’s contract status and call-up update

In a shocking moment, Adam Cole has been called up from NXT and is now the leader of The O.C. This was not a planned development for the group and only came about after Finn Balor’s recent injury, ruling him out of action for the next 7 months. For those wondering because Adam Cole was reported to have his contract up in the summer, he still has not signed a new deal with WWE, and it remains to be seen if this spot on SmackDown will convince him to stay or if he will end up in AEW as speculated.

Smackdown is getting an extra 30 mins this Friday per Fox

The SmackDown Live episode this week, dealing with the fallout of Armageddon, will be getting an extra 30 minutes overrun, it has been confirmed. It promises to be an action-packed episode of SmackDown Live with Daniel Bryan confirming online he will be defending his Universal challenge in another open challenge and 3 Queen of the Ring first-round matches!

I hope Adam Cole stays in WWE after this main roster call up especially now that he is in The OC

Daniel Bryan giving open challenges for the WWE Universal Championship...is that really smart? Yeah I get being a fighting champion and giving opportunities but really what the hell are you doing?

But I can't wait to see this QOTR tournament start

HOUSE OF MEMORIES - P!ATD

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Match 1: Queen of the Ring 1st Round match: Alexa Bliss vs Mercedes Martinez

Match summary:
Monday Night Raw this week kicks off right in the middle of the action as we get the first Queen of the Ring match of the evening with Alexa Bliss taking on Mercedes Martinez. The commentary team mentions that no one is allowed at ringside for Queen of the Ring matches, while also pointing out that Mercedes was competing on the Armageddon pre-show, whereas Alexa Bliss comes into this match fresher and more rested.

Early on in the match, Bliss is wary and keeps her distance from Mercedes Martinez, respecting the superior power that her opponent has. Martinez has no patience for the games of Alexa and stays on the attack, giving Bliss a bit of a beating early on before working over her with a bunch of submissions. Bliss is tougher than she looks and fights out of Mercedes Martinez's hold, starting to take control of the match by bending the rules to stay on top of Martinez.

As the match heads towards the closing stages, Mercedes Martinez is in control of the match and looks to lock Alexa in her in the BRASS CITY SLEEPER CHOKING THE LIFE OUT OF ALEXA BLISS! Bliss is in big trouble and can’t seem to find any way to escape until she FLIPS HER BODY OVER INTO A PINNING PREDICAMENT! Mercedes realizes a bit late, tired from her match last night, and ALEXA BLISS ESCAPES WITH THE PINFALL VICTORY!

Winner via pinfall: Alexa Bliss (10:25)

Mercedes Martinez lets go of the hold just a little too late as Alexa Bliss rolls off and chokes on the mat, feeling the effects of the sleeper hold. Martinez looks furious and kicks the ropes in frustration whilst Alexa Bliss celebrates and gloats, heading up the entrance ramp. The commentary team confirms she will face the winner between Bianca Belair and Stevie Turner in the next round as we cut to a commercial break.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When we return from the commercial break, we see Sheamus walking out of the gym with a frustrated look on his face, clearly still unhappy about being currently locked out of the Intercontinental title picture. His mood gets worse, though, when he comes face-to-face with The Miz! Sheamus tells the A-Lister he already said no to his help and doesn’t need The Miz to teach him anything. Sheamus walks off, but The Miz tells Sheamus that he should hear him out and even has a special Miz TV for him to guest star on. Sheamus glares as Miz asks him to hear him out. Sheamus says it better be good or Miz will have his Hollywood smile ruined, and storms off, leaving The Miz standing there with a smile.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next, we cut elsewhere backstage as Trent Seven is standing backstage in front of his new allies, The Grizzled Young Veterans. Trent looks furious and says that tonight he should be fighting Andrade Cien Almas in the Intercontinental title series, but instead Elias has stolen his spot thanks to the jealousy and bitterness of British Strong Style! Zack Gibson chimes in to say that Trent’s old boys could not bear to see their former friend thriving, so they had to try to drag him down.

Zack goes on saying that Trent was all that was keeping them relevant, and now they know their time in the spotlight is closing, so they knew they needed to make sure they couldn’t move on from them. James Drake says British Strong Style has made a huge mistake because if they stayed out of their business, they would have left them alone as they focused on becoming tag team champions, but now not only will they win the number one contender’s match, but they will make them grit their teeth!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We then go backstage as The New Day stand, getting loud cheers from the live crowd watching them on the titantron. Big E speaks first with the WWE title on his shoulder, saying that last week he teamed with Cesaro to take on a common threat. He notes that, while he respects Cesaro's abilities, he isn’t there to be a footnote in anyone else’s story. Big E emphasizes that he waited a full year to become WWE Champion, and he intends to keep the title around his waist!

Big E says he has no plans on waiting 3 weeks for a fight either and tells Wade Barrett to find him an opponent next week. Kofi Kingston talks next, saying he is keeping a close eye on the Intercontinental series and wishes all 4 men good luck, promising to watch the final next week up close. Xavier Woods then takes over, saying that he is planning to see his Cruiserweight title challenge in the ring. His best friends tell him they will be on standby in case of any fun business before Woods heads to the ring.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When we return from the commercial break, Xavier Woods makes his way to the ring as promised with his Cruiserweight title around his waist and a microphone in his hand. Woods says he came to this ring as he wants to see the man against whom his first one-on-one defence of the Cruiserweight title will be and look him in the eyes. He tells the crowd that Oney hits hard and is one of the most proficient wrestlers on the Raw roster. Woods, though, says he knows Danny Burch has a habit of getting involved in his fights.

This leads to Oney Lorcan coming to the ring, joined by his tag team partner, Danny Burch. They climb into the ring and stand across from Xavier Woods. Burch seems ready to fight right now, but Oney puts an arm in the way, looking to keep the Brit under control for the time being. Oney steps forward and comes face to face with Woods as he asks the Cruiserweight Champion why he feels he can talk about people needing to do things alone.

Danny Burch pipes in to say that Woods has leaned on the New Day his whole career, getting a head shake from Woods. Xavier says they have all supported each other, and there was a time people could get to him by calling him a weak link, but those days are long gone. He tells both of the men in the ring he intends to prove he is a worthy champion, so he asks Danny to stay in the back next week. Oney has a cocky smirk and nods at his partner, agreeing to fight Woods alone next week, but only if Xavier does the same, bringing the promo to an end!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut backstage as we can see Mustafa Ali sitting in a stairwell looking off into the distance before speaking to the camera. He says he spent weeks after WrestleMania 37 unable to leave his bed due to the pop-up powerbomb given to him by Kevin Owens. He takes a moment to pause before asking the fans if they forgot how much they loved him. Ali talks about the cheers he would get during both his Cruiserweight title reigns, but it was all forgotten when he was wronged by someone the crowd loves more.

Mustafa says he can understand that because he knows the general public can be fickle and they need someone like him to lead them. Ali shakes his head and says his anger is aimed at Sami Zayn. He tells us that people call Sami someone super moral and the conscience of WWE, but where was he when his so-called best friend powerbombed him onto the ring apron? Ali says if Sami had the morals that he says he does, he would have confronted Kevin Owens in public about using that move.

Ali even points to the Armageddon PPV and says Owens even tried to do the move to someone else last night! Mustafa says the fans can make their choice tonight before the bell, but he will show in the ring who the morally superior and better athlete is when he beats Sami Zayn in tonight’s main event. Ali rises to his feet and says that once he gets past Sami, it doesn’t matter if it is Elias or Andrade Cien Almas. Neither man will stop him from claiming the Intercontinental title before Ali leaves the stairwell and Raw goes to a commercial break.

Match 2: Drew McIntyre vs Dolph Ziggler w/OMOS

Match summary:
When we return from the commercial break, we get a clash between two former World Champions in Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler. Dolph, for all of his talk coming into this match, keeps away from the Sinister Scotsman as much as he can, knowing Drew can overpower him with ease. Ziggler can only play keep away for so long as Drew grabs hold of him and dominates Ziggler from the middle stages to the finish as he puts away Dolph with the CLAYMORE!

Winner via pinfall: Drew McIntyre (6:43)

Drew McIntyre gets back to his feet and soaks in the cheers from the live crowd as he celebrates the victory. OMOS steps into the ring and looks to attack Drew McIntyre… BUT DREW IS READY! He hits a GLASGOW KISS INTO A CLAYMORE DROPPING THE GIANT! The crowd loudly cheers as Drew leaves the ring and backs up the entrance ramp, still celebrating… RANDY ORTON RKO’S HIM! A loud mixed reaction as Orton tilts his head, smirking, before we cut elsewhere backstage…

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We see Baron Corbin and Tommaso Ciampa sitting together in a locker room, with neither man happy about their loss in the main event of Raw last week. Both men talk about being held down and the fact that they belong at the top of this show. Corbin suggests an alliance, which prompts Ciampa to ponder it for a few moments before he says he would need to see how it works. Ciampa suggests they throw a challenge out to Cesaro and see if he can find a partner for them to both beat. Corbin nods and offers a hand to Ciampa, who says he will save the pleasantries until after he proves this partnership can work.

Match 3: Intercontinental series match: Andrade Cien Almas w/Zelina Vega vs Elias

Match summary:
The 2nd hour begins with the first of the two semi-final matches in the Intercontinental title series, as Andrade Cien Almas and Elias collide for a spot in the final. Early on in the match, Andrade is very cocky and dismissive of Elias, not taking him too seriously. This costs him as Elias takes control of the match and shocks Andrade by overpowering him. Andrade shakes his head and looks to get back on track, using a well-timed distraction from Zelina to take control of the match.

Andrade starts to realize that Elias can match him power-wise and instead starts to use his agility/lucha skills to overwhelm his challenger tonight. Elias is struggling but is giving the former World Champion a tough time in this encounter as the fans are loudly behind him. In the closing stages, Elias is trying to put away Andrade, but as he goes for the DRIFT AWAY… ANDRADE COUNTERS HITTING A FLATLINER INTO THE TURNBUCKLE! Andrade follows up with SEEING SHADOWS before dragging Elias out of the corner and making the cover to advance to the final!

Winner via pinfall: Andrade Cien Almas (9:00)

Andrade gets to his feet and is joined by Zelina Vega in the ring, who lifts his arm into the air as they gloat in the ring to loud boos from the live crowd. Elias, meanwhile, rolls to the outside, sighing and looking disappointed to have come up just short tonight, as we cut to a commercial break.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When we return from the commercial break, we see Tegan Nox and Rhea Ripley hanging out backstage. The two women are in good spirits as they talk about their plans to kick Charlotte Flair’s ass the next chance they get. Before they can carry on with their talk, we see Piper Niven walk into the ring, wincing in pain as she does. There is a tiny bit of tension between Piper Niven and Rhea Ripley after their talk about Rhea not getting involved in the match.

Piper smirks slightly, saying that was a good way to get around not getting involved, as Rhea holds her hands up and tells Piper that no matter the result of the match, she was coming out there to beat Charlotte’s ass. Rhea even has the Women’s Universal title on show and says she would have gladly welcomed a challenge from Piper too. Niven smirks saying well, when she wins Queen of the Ring, they will have to see if Rhea changes her mind.

Tegan Nox chimes in to make it clear she plans to win her Queen of the Ring match next week and talks about the fact that she made it further than Piper in last year’s tournament. Piper doesn’t look happy at that comment and fires back that they both didn’t walk out winners. Rhea gets between both of them and says they can save it for the tournament, which gets a look from Piper, who backs away and leaves the room as Tegan and Rhea go back to talking to each other.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut to the ring as The Swiss Superman Cesaro walks to the ring in a suit with a serious look on his face. He plays to the fans a bit, who are cheering, but he mostly remains stoic as he enters the ring. He says he is not one for long speeches and is more someone who believes in action. He walks around the ring and says he will start with the most important piece of business: The WWE Champion Big E. He says he heard what Big E had to say, and he is glad he made their alliance clear last week.

Cesaro makes it clear that he was under no illusions about the nature of their alliance last week, and he just wanted the chance to beat up Andrade one more time. A slight smile crosses his face, but as he turns to address Big E, his expression grows determined. He tells Big E that while Big E might have waited a year to cash in, Cesaro has been waiting for this his entire career. The smile fades, replaced by raw anger, as Cesaro says he has people telling him he doesn’t have what it takes to be a World Champion and that he doesn’t grab “the brass ring”.

Cesaro shakes his head, frustration visible, and calls it a stupid concept because you can work and only get one opportunity at the wrong time. Calming himself, he tells the crowd that when he fought Drew last year, he was under bad management who were not going to guide him to the top of WWE. Instead, they held him back for their golden goose. Cesaro says at WrestleMania 37, he broke free from those chains and slayed the golden goose, so now he is free to take the spot that should have belonged to him, his tone growing more resolute.

He makes it clear that he has already proved how much he has learned in the last year by beating Drew McIntyre, the man who stopped him last year. He says Big E should hold that title tight and keep his friends close because he’s going to need them soon. Cesaro smirks before finishing the promo by saying he heard Corbin and Ciampa's words, promising he knows just who will team with him and confirms he will team with his friend Ilja Dragunov against them next week!

When we return from the commercial break, we cut to the interior of what appears to be a music studio. The camera pans around as we see Swerve Strickland sitting down next to his friend AR Fox. Swerve smirks, starting the promo, and looks to AR Fox, telling his friend it took him a while to see sense. Fox nods in agreement with Swerve but says it’s better late than never. AR looks to the camera and says he tried to do things the right way, but where does that get him? He came to Raw for success, not to be another person on the roster.

Swerve nods and says that’s the mindset The Hurt Business needs. Morals don’t matter; all that matters is the results, and he beat Lio Rush in the middle of the ring to remove him from The Hurt Business. Swerve gives a toothy grin before saying they are taking care of some business this week, but they will return to Raw next week for a business meeting with the rest of the group. Both men smirk before Swerve pulls out a phone and makes a call, whilst we cut to a video package.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut to a video package that shows us highlights of Lyra Valkyria’s performances in NXT UK, showcasing her impressive in-ring skills. We even hear from Lyra, who talks about Becky Lynch being a big influence on her when she was breaking into the business, and she plans to become Queen of the Ring.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Match 4: Queen of the Ring 1st Round match: Lyra Valkyria vs Mia Yim

Match summary:
Lyra gets a decent reaction from the live crowd for someone appearing on Raw for the first time. Mia Yim is very dismissive of the Irish superstar early on and even taunts her. Mia soon comes to regret it when Lyra fires back with a series of strikes and plants Yim to the mat. Mia has to roll to the outside, but Lyra has no intention of letting up as she dives through the ropes, keeping up the pressure with a suicide dive! Lyra stays in control throughout, and in the end, she manages to put away Mia Yim with NIGHTWING (SAMOAN DRIVER) to advance to the last 16!

Winner via pinfall: Lyra Valkyria (8:17)

Lyra Valkyria gets to her feet and has a big smile on her face, having pulled off to a lot of fans watching at home a huge upset. Michael Cole is full of praise for the NXT UK superstar and even speculates that her win tonight might put her in line for a call-up in the draft as Monday Night Raw. Pat McAfee adds that she will face the winner of Isla Dawn and Kay Lee Rae in the last 16, wondering if we will see another NXT superstar pull off an upset as we cut to a commercial break.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When we return from the commercial break, we see Keith Lee standing backstage with his Money in the Bank briefcase on show. He doesn’t look to be in a good mood and says that last night an old enemy came back into his path. Keith Lee talks about his history with Adam Cole in NXT and their battle over the North American/NXT title. He says Adam Cole has to always have a group behind him and someone to call on to help him. He tells the camera that doesn’t mean Cole is a weak competitor, quite the opposite, as he wags a finger.

Adam Cole is a capable athlete and an elite wrestler on his own, which makes his need for a group at his back even more baffling to Keith Lee. The limitless one says Cole doesn’t need it but insists on it. He tells the fans that will be for him to deal with on SmackDown in the coming weeks, but he has some business still on Raw. Keith Lee says there is one man on Monday Night Raw who holds a victory over him, and he is calling that man out: Samoa Joe! Keith tells the former WWE Champion to name the time and the place for them to fight, ending the promo!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We next cut backstage as Cathy Kelley stands ready for an interview with her guest, Ricochet. She welcomes the high-flier before asking him how he has been feeling lately. Ricochet says he remembers just over 2 years ago, he was fighting Roman Reigns for the Men’s Universal title, but since then, he has gone downhill and hasn’t been close to gold. Cathy asks him what might be the cause, as Ricochet takes a moment to sigh before saying he can only blame himself.

Ricochet says he forgot what got him gold in NXT, and it is time for him to get back to what he used to be. As Cathy is about to ask him what his plan is, they are interrupted by Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo. Angel mockingly says Maybe Ricochet should join them in the Ungovernables, and he might remember what success feels like. Ricochet chuckles and says they look as successful as he right now. This angers Humberto, who challenges Ricochet to a singles match next week, which the One and Only accepts!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Match 5: Bobby Lashley vs Shelton Benjamin w/MVP

Match summary:
Bobby Lashley marches out for this match by himself with a scowl on his face, but he does flex and pose for the live crowd. Once in the ring, Shelton makes his way out next, joined by Samoa Joe, Cedric Alexander, and MVP. MVP makes a point to send the other two to the back, walking to the ring with Shelton Benjamin. Before Shelton enters the ring, MVP makes it clear that they want a clear match and then to talk with Bobby, glaring at MVP.

Shelton, early on, is smart enough not to try to match Bobby Lashley when it comes to power moves and instead uses his agility to keep in the match, avoiding the power moves of the All Mighty. Bobby thinks he's no slouch and catches up to Shelton as he starts to lay into him with a series of power moves. Shelton mounts a comeback, but in the closing stages, Bobby catches Shelton leaping off the ropes with a WICKED SPEAR! Lashley makes the cover and picks up the victory!

Winner via pinfall: Bobby Lashley (7:06)

The crowd loudly cheers as Bobby picks up another win on Monday Night Raw. He looks serious as he gets to his feet, whilst MVP slides into the ring looking to check on his client. We see Bobby Lashley walk up to him and shout about what they did to Lio Rush, but MVP once again denies having any involvement in AR Fox’s attack last week. Shelton gets up to get in between the two men and offers Bobby a handshake, saying they have no issue with him. Lashley looks at the hand and shakes his head before heading to the back as Raw goes to a commercial break.

Monday Night Raw’s 3rd hour starts with Rhea Ripley making her way to the ring with her ally and friend, as of late, Tegan Nox. Both women get loud cheers from the crowd as Rhea says they have come out here for one reason, they want Charlotte Flair to come to this ring and accept the ass beating she is due! The fans love this from the Women’s Universal Champion as Tegan Nox takes over and says Charlotte showed her true colours months ago when she tried to injure her best friend, Dakota Kai!

Tegan carries on to say that they teamed with Charlotte to take down the bigger threat in the MMA Horsewomen, but The Queen was just a snake in the grass waiting for her time to strike! Rhea says it is time for her to cut the head off the snake, and if Charlotte is not going to make her way out here, she will go backstage to find her! Rhea gets sick of waiting, but eventually Charlotte walks out onto the entrance ramp, getting loud boos from the fans in the crowd.

She stands with a smirk and asks Rhea why she is so eager to get her ass kicked early, getting furious boos from the live crowd. Charlotte tells Rhea that she should be thankful that The Queen is willing to wait until the Queen of the Ring to take back what she never should have lost. Rhea Ripley replies, saying no matter what, she would have walked out of WrestleMania 37 with this title around her waist, and all Charlotte’s injury did was delay her getting her ass kicked by her!

Charlotte shakes her head and tells Rhea to ask herself what happened last time they stepped in the ring at Queen of the Ring! Rhea scowls as Charlotte tells the fans she made Rhea tap in the middle of the ring! Rhea tells Charlotte she is not the same nightmare she was back in those days and says she will prove it to Charlotte right now. The Queen says she would love to fight, but she isn’t fighting two women at once, and tells Rhea she will see her soon, bringing the segment to an end!

Match 6: Number one contender’s match for World tag team titles: British Strong Style vs Grizzled Young Veterans vs Jeff Jarrett and Heath Slater vs Breezango

Match summary:
The Street Profits make their way out before the start of this match and head straight to the commentary desk. They talk about all of the teams and are full of praise for all of the potential challengers except for Jeff Jarrett and Heath Slater, who they rip into. They call Jeff Jarrett a coward and a snake oil salesman who has corrupted Heath Slater with false promises of gold. The match gets underway and is a chaotic affair with 4 men in the ring at all times.

During the match, it becomes very clear that British Strong Style and The Grizzled Young Veterans are focused on fighting with each other. In the closing stages, the bad blood between the two British teams spills over, and they end up brawling with each other in the crowd. This leaves Breezango alone with Jeff Jarrett and Heath Slater, with Heath Slater catching Fandango with E-MINOR to give him the tag team victory tonight and earn the World tag team title shot in 3 weeks!

Winners via pinfall: Jeff Jarrett and Heath Slater (8:56)

Jeff Jarrett and Heath Slater celebrate in the ring with the live crowd giving them a ton of heat. They grab their guitars from ringside and slide back into the ring, ready to clock Breezango… BUT THE STREET PROFITS RUN INTO THE RING TO MAKE THE SAVE AND SEND THEIR CHALLENGERS PACKING! Both teams jaw-jack with each other as the commentary team hypes the upcoming tag match, whilst Raw goes to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, we see Bobby Lashley with his suitcase ready to leave Monday Night Raw when he is stopped by Lio Rush, who comes to have a chat with him. Lio says he appreciated what Bobby is doing for him and thanks the main man for having his back. Bobby smiles and says he considers Lio a friend, so he wants to make sure The Hurt Business gets an ass kicking for how they screwed him over. Bobby, though, notices that Lio doesn’t smile in response and asks what’s wrong.

Lio Rush says he wants payback on the people who screwed him over, but he believes the Hurt Business didn’t know what Swerve and Fox had planned. Bobby looks confused, but Lio says that MVP might not be a good man; however, he has a code for how he handles business. He also brings up Samoa Joe’s recent issues with Swerve Strickland and how he is acting. Bobby pauses to think about it as Lio suggests they leave together and talk in private about this, leading to both men leaving the arena for the night.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We then cut to the ring as Ruby Riott makes her way out, getting a decent pop from the live crowd. She has a microphone in hand and looks pretty furious before telling the fans that she hasn’t been a perfect person since she came to Raw and SmackDown. She has made plenty of mistakes and treated Liv Morgan horribly. Ruby says the best thing she has done recently is making up with her former friend Liv Morgan because she is starting to wonder if she made a mistake ever being friends with Shotzi!

This prompts Shotzi Blackheart to storm out with her arm still in a sling and a microphone in her other hand. Shotzi asks Ruby to forgive her, but she did what she thought was best for their team. Ruby shakes her head, annoyed with this answer, and tells Shotzi she never asked for her help to win that match against Dani Luna. Shotzi says she felt bad because she caused the match to happen, but Ruby replies that if she felt bad, maybe she should stop causing problems for Ruby.

Liv Morgan makes her way out next, getting loud cheers from the crowd as she looks to come out and play peacemaker! Liv tells both of them this is not what she wanted when she reunited with Ruby Riott. Shotzi tells Liv to stay out of it, but this further angers Ruby, who tells Shotzi this is the exact problem. Ruby says Shotzi has done nothing but be jealous of Liv Morgan ever since Ruby made up with her. Shotzi tries to deny it, but Ruby says her friend can’t even be honest with her.

Shotzi tries to speak, but even Liv is getting fed up with this and tells Shotzi she needs to sort this out, as they both have the Queen of the Ring to focus on this week and next week. Shotzi is furious at this and tells Liv Morgan she would be in the tournament if not for her dragging them into a war with the MMA Horsewomen. Shotzi gets right in Liv’s face… AS RUBY PUSHES HER OVER AND TELLS HER TO STOP IT! Shotzi looks shocked as Ruby drops the microphone and leaves the ring, joined by Liv Morgan, who shakes her head as we cut to a commercial break.

Match 7: Queen of the Ring 1st Round match: Piper Niven vs Natalya

Match summary:
When we return from the commercial break, we cut to the ring for the 3rd and final Queen of the Ring match of the evening. Piper Niven starts the match like a house on fire, but it becomes clear very early on that she is starting to be aggressive as she is coming into this match hurt, and Natalya looks to take advantage, targeting the right leg of Piper in relentless fashion! Piper at first stays in control, but Natalya slowly dissects the right leg of Piper and starts to grind her down!

The crowd looks to will the Scot on, hoping for her to overpower the MMA Horsewomen veteran, but Natalya is in her element, even having picked up a few tricks from Shayna Baszler and Marina Shafir. In the closing stages, Natalya gets Piper Niven trapped in the SHARPSHOOTER! Natalya wrenches everything she has into the hold as Piper tries to find a way out of the hold… BUT SHE CAN’T ESCAPE AND IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING! Piper doesn’t want to do it, but in a huge shock… SHE TAPS OUT!

Winner via submission: Natalya (8:05)

The crowd boos, though a lot of them are shocked, having expected Piper Niven to overcome the injuries to walk out with the victory. Natalya gloats to the crowd and shouts off-mic that winning the Queen of the Ring is in her genetics. The commentary team hypes up The Queen of Harts' family history and her submission skills, which they believe could be vital in this tournament, as we cut to Piper Niven in pain in the ring, furious at her loss.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut to the back as we can see MVP in The Hurt Business locker room talking to his clients, though it is clear that Samoa Joe, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander are not in a good mood. Notably, EJ Nduka is sitting in the corner, working out, and seems stoic rather than angry. We soon see Tom Phillips walk into the room as he looks for an interview with MVP and outright asks him if they had anything to do with AR Fox getting involved in last week’s loser leaves The Hurt Business match.

MVP looks to answer the question by saying no, but before he can say another word, SAMOA JOE LOSES HIS TEMPER GRABS TOM AND PINS HIM AGAINST THE WALL! Joe screams in his face and tells people to stop asking stupid questions. MVP comes over and pulls Joe away as he tells the big man to cool it, leading Joe to back off for the moment. MVP makes it clear that the group wanted to see who the better man was, so Swerve's cheating to win goes against that.

Cedric Alexander chimes in to say he was pro Swerve Strickland winning the match as he felt Lio wasn’t cutting the mustard, but he wanted it to be between the two men. EJ stays quiet in the corner as Cedric carries on and says that if Bobby still wants to blame his tag team partner for what happened, he’ll gladly see him in the ring next week. Samoa Joe wraps up the promo by telling Tom that he will fight Keith Lee in two weeks and show there are limits when it comes to getting past him!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We then cut to Sami Zayn walking to the ring ahead of tonight’s main event, when he is stopped by Cathy Kelley for an interview. She asks Sami how he is feeling ahead of tonight’s main event, now two matches away from a chance to get his Intercontinental title back. Sami says it has been a long road to get back to the title he lost to Swerve Strickland, but he knows he is worthy of being a singles champion again on Raw. Cathy then asks him about what Mustafa Ali had to say earlier in the night.

Sami sighs and takes a few seconds before answering the question from Cathy Kelley. He says he has had a lot of respect for Mustafa Ali and even considered him an ally in the lead-up to WrestleMania. He says he is not responsible for Kevin’s actions and never will be. He tells Cathy that if Mustafa Ali has a problem with what Kevin Owens did to him at WrestleMania 37, he needs to confront Kevin about it! Sami Zayn wraps up the promo and heads to the ring as we cut to the final commercial break of the night!

When we return from the commercial break, the commentary team confirms before both men make their way out that James Strom has accepted Big E’s challenge and they will collide on Raw next week!

Main event: Intercontinental series match: Mustafa Ali vs Sami Zayn

Match summary:
Sami offers a handshake to start the match, but Ali responds to it by SLAPPING SAMI IN THE FACE INSTEAD! Loud boos from the crowd as Ali shows a lot of the same aggression he did last week in the ring with Dolph Ziggler. Sami struggles early on to fight back against Mustafa Ali and even has to roll to the outside of the ring to get a breather… BUT ALI RUNS THE ROPES AND DIVES TO THE OUTSIDE WIPING SAMI ZAYN OUT!

Mustafa Ali is in total control of the mat before grabbing hold of Sami Zayn and rolling him back into the ring. Ali climbs onto the ring apron as he lines up the prone Sami and hits him with a SPRINGBOARD SENTON! Ali is in control of the match, but he can’t seem to put Sami Zayn away as the match carries on. The former Intercontinental Champion puts up a bit of a fight and starts to get in control of the match, getting him in the corner for the HULLEVA KICK…

ALI COUNTERS WITH A KICK OUT OF THE CORNER!
Sami stumbles backward as Ali follows up with a SUPERKICK! Sami falls to the mat before Ali turns around and climbs to the top rope! He dives off looking for the 054… SAMI MOVES JUST IN TIME! Ali crashes and burns, allowing Sami to get hold of him as he connects with the BLUE THUNDER BOMB! He makes the cover as Ali kicks out! Sami looks to stay on top, lifting Ali up… BUT ALI COUNTERS LOCKING IN A KOJI CLUTCH… BUT SAMI FIGHTS OUT AND COUNTERS INTO A ROLL-UP TO SECURE THE 3 COUNT!

Winner via pinfall: Sami Zayn (11:53)

Sami Zayn uses his technical ability to outwrestle Mustafa Ali and advances to the final of the Intercontinental series! He gets to his feet and celebrates the victory whilst Mustafa Ali looks furious. Sami, after he finishes celebrating, looks at Ali and once again offers him a hand. Ali looks at it for a few seconds before shaking his head and storming off towards the backstage area. Sami responds by shrugging before going to celebrate in the ring as Raw comes to a close!

- Looks like Mustafa Ali has turned heel and honestly his heel turn makes a lot of sense. Kevin Owens nearly ended his career and Sami Zayn did nothing. With Sami beating Mustafa Ali in the main event to move on in the IC Title series to crown a new #1 Contender...I wonder if this leads to Ali feuding with Zayn after this?

- Randy Orton targets Lashley and now Drew McIntyre...the better question is why is he setting his sights on McIntyre again? Didn't they have a whole feud like last year in this diary? Reigniting the feud out of nowhere

- I wonder if this leads to Lashley & Rush reuniting as a team? I mean they do have a common enemy in The Hurt Business

- Natalya does have Queen of the Ring in her blood...her uncle who is a WWE Hall of Famer Bret The Hitman Hart was a 2 time WWE King of the Ring and her other uncle the late Owen Hart was also a King of the Ring...Natalya a 3rd generation superstar granddaughter of Stu Hart...this tournament is practically tailor made for Natalya because of her family because they made their names in this tournament and Natalya would just be adding to the family legacy.

- Jeff Jarrett and Heath Slater become #1 Contenders for the World Tag Team Championship to face The Street Profits...what a match that will be

- Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women's Universal Championship is a dream match I know I wanna see again

It was about over a year ago they had a feud the lead up to the Royal Rumble and WM. Orton will cut a promo next week explaining why he attacked Drew this time.

SmackDown Live
Hartford, Connecticut
XL Centre

May 14th 2021

SmackDown Live starts with a cold open showing THE BLOODLINE arriving at the arena: JACOB FATU, JEY USO, JIMMY USO, NAOMI and THE WISEMAN PAUL HEYMAN! Noticeable by their absence are Roman Reigns and Tamina as KAYLA BRAXTON approaches them for an interview, asking for a few words from Paul. He looks to the rest of the Bloodline and says he will handle it. All of the Bloodline heads into the arena, leaving Heyman with Kayla Braxton.

Kayla asks first of all where Tamina is, and Paul Heyman confirms that she is still feeling the effects of going through four tables on Sunday, so the family felt it was best that she get some time at home to recover ahead of the Queen of the Ring. Kayla goes on to ask if there is any potential tension between Naomi and Tamina regarding who might win it, but Heyman shakes his head. He makes it clear that whoever wins out of the two, the Tribal Chief will be happy, as it means even more gold for the group.

Kayla next asks how the family are feeling after Jacob Fatu and The Usos keep their title at Armageddon with Heyman doing his signature creepy smile. He says he and the Tribal Chief are happy with how everything worked out at the PPV before saying tonight will be a truly great night for The Bloodline. Kayla asks Heyman what he means by that, but Paul says it would be a spoiler and walks off before the opening video cuts in to get the show underway.

*FLIGHT OF THE VALKYRIES*

DANIEL BRYAN
walks out with ALPHA ACADEMY behind him to get SmackDown Live officially underway! Bryan lifts his Men’s Universal title into the air, prompting loud “YES” chants from the fans in attendance. KURT ANGLE, CHAD GABLE, BUDDY MURPHY, and DANIEL GARCIA all have smiles on their faces as they watch their unofficial leader lead the way. Corey Graves and Beth Phoenix welcome us back to the show as they promise a big evening as we see the fallout of Armageddon!

Alpha Academy climbs into the ring as Daniel Bryan is about to speak first, but instead Kurt Angle asks if he can speak first. Bryan nods and smiles, asking the crowd if they should let Angle speak, getting a resounding “YES” from the fans in attendance. Kurt smiles, thanking both the crowd and Byran, even making a joke about being used to them telling him he sucks. This starts up the signature chant, which Kurt plays along to with a big smile on his face, before saying he would like to get serious now.

Kurt Angle says when he took over as a mentor for Chad Gable, he had only planned to help one of his son’s best friends make it to the top, where he belongs. Chad pipes up to say he misses Jason before Angle carries on and says Gable proved to be a great United States Champion on two occasions. It was when coming to SmackDown that they found a man willing to teach the future and bring the next generation up with him: Daniel Bryan. The crowd loudly cheers Bryan, who hoists the Universal title into the air.

Kurt Angle says they now have Buddy Murphy and Daniel Garcia have joined the group, and he can see the future of this business growing. Garcia nods with a serious look on his face. Buddy now asks for the microphone from Kurt, which he accepts. The Aussie superstar turns to Bryan and says he wants to thank him. He tells Bryan that thanks to him, he escaped the mess that was The O.C. He says now he feels like he is learning from someone who wants to teach him and not use him.

He tells Bryan that he wants to thank him, and he feels that with his teachings, he will soon be a champion once again. Bryan says he appreciates the kind words from everyone, but he wants to thank someone first before speaking: Chad Gable. Daniel Bryan tells the former United States Champion Chad that he was the one to invite him into the group and to get him back to his best. He tells Chad Gable that if it wasn’t for him, he wouldn’t be Universal Champion right now!

Chad Gable beams with pride as Daniel Bryan turns to the fans and says that’s why he will keep putting the title up in open challenges until his body breaks. Until someone beats him for it! The crowd is going wild and loudly behind him as he carries on. He confirms in tonight’s main event he will be defending the Men’s Universal title in an open challenge, saying it is open to ally, friend, enemy! Anyone who wants to fight for this, try to take it from him! The crowd loudly chants “YES” for Bryan as SmackDown goes to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, we can see ALPHA ACADEMY walking through the backstage area with smiles on their face. They seem in good spirits when they are stopped by THE SINGH BROTHERS??? Kurt Angle is confused, asking what they want, but the Cruiserweight tag team says they were paid to stop Alpha Academy. Garcia asks why, but the other twig is too late… AS THE BLOODLINE AND SHINSUKE NAKAMURA ATTACK ALL OF THEM FROM BEHIND!

The group laid a beating on Alpha Academy, and even the Singh Brothers helped in whatever way they could. Jacob Fatu focuses his beating on Daniel Bryan as it seems The Bloodline has plans to injure the Men’s Universal title in this attack! The beating carries on for a couple of minutes before Fatu finishes it off with a MIGHTY MOONSAULT OFF A PRODUCTION CRATE CRUSHING DANIEL BRYAN! PAUL HEYMAN appears after the beating is done as he passes Nakamura and The Singh Brothers a wad of cash, thanking them for their service as we cut back to the ring.

*SUBCULTURE*

DANI LUNA
makes her way out, getting decent cheers from the live crowd. The Raw superstar has a determined look on her face as she heads to the ring. Corey Graves, on commentary, says Dani Luna is repping the colours of SubCulture and will look to become the Queen of the SubCulture. Beth Phoenix says Dani has an underrated submission game, and her opponent, Billie Kay, will have to keep on guard if she wants to make it to the last 16!

*SEDUCTION*

BILLIE KAY
makes her way out, getting a mixed reaction from the live crowd. She has a “Peyton is my Queen" sign with a bunch of the fans at ringside wanting Billie to take a picture with them. Corey Graves comments that these fans are starting to love Billie as much as she loves Peyton. Beth Phoenix tells the fans at home to cherish any friend who shows the same love Billie does daily for Peyton. Billie Kay steps into the ring as the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway!

Match 1: Queen of the Ring 1st Round match: Billie Kay vs Dani Luna

Match summary:
Dani Luna takes control of the match early with a few suplexes as she slams down one-half of the Iiconics. Billie does make a bit of a fight back and gets the live crowd behind her as we get to the closing stages. The flurry doesn’t last, sadly, though, as Dani Luna gets trapped in CATTLE MUTILATION! Billie tries to escape but is forced to tap out, giving Dani the victory!

Winner via submission: Dani Luna (5:45)

Dani releases the tight hold and drops Billie to the mat as the fans give a bit of a mixed reaction, hoping for Billie to win more and more as the match goes on. Billie Kay gets to her feet and looks disappointed, but gets offered a handshake from Dani, which she accepts to cheers from the crowd. Corey says Billie would have done Peyton proud tonight, whilst Beth Phoenix confirms she will fight the winner of Ember Moon and Xia Li later on in the last 16, as we cut to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, EMBER MOON is shown pacing up and down with an angry glare whilst holding the Money in the Bank briefcase in her hand. She is furious and says Sunday was supposed to be the night when she got to cash in her briefcase and take back her WWE Women’s title! She says Bianca not only cheated her out of a win but also had to take her moment. Ember laughs and says that she will make Bianca pay when she least expects it.

She says now it is time to focus on a new goal, and she has her eyes on becoming the Queen of the Ring. She smiles, saying that just because she has this briefcase, it doesn’t mean she can’t earn another title shot. She plans to run through the entire field, especially because it might give her the chance to stop Bianca Belair from getting her hands on the WWE Women’s title. She finishes the promo saying that Deonna Purrazzo attacking Xia was her work, but tonight, she’ll be happy to get her hands dirty instead!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*EMERGENCE*

THE O.C.
make their way out when we return to the ring with JORDAN DEVLIN leading THE GOOD BROTHERS onto the entrance ramp. LUKE GALLOWS and KARL ANDERSON too sweet each other before doing it with Jordan Devlin. The trio waits on the entrance ramp for…

*UNDISPUTED*

ADAM COLE!
The crowd does give the former Undisputed Era leader a loud mixed reaction, but it does lean toward boos as seemingly the new leader of the O.C., Adam Cole, signals to the other 3 and leads them towards the ring with a cocky smirk on his face, timing his walk to the ring to play to his signature boom as well. Corey Graves puts over all the titles Adam Cole won in NXT, with Beth Phoenix saying Cole has never been one to play second fiddle.

The O.C. are now standing in the ring with Devlin and The Good Brothers behind Adam Cole. He has a microphone in his hand as he asks the live crowd if they are ready for story time with Adam Cole! The crowd gives a mixed reaction, which brings a smile to his face as he cockily says the reaction from the fans tells him a lot of them know who he is, but he figures it would be time to introduce him to anyone not watching NXT! He tells everyone that his name is Adam Cole Baybay, pointing at himself in the ring.

He runs down his accolades in NXT: NXT, North American and Tag Team champions whilst leading one of the most successful factions in WWE history: The Undisputed Era! He brought about a prophecy as their leader and took them to the top before everything fell apart! He blames Kyle O’Riley, Roderick Strong and even Bobby Fish, making it clear that he knew it was time to destroy what he created when he brought an end to the group, but Kyle couldn’t accept it!

Adam Cole says he had every intention of ending Kyle’s career for good, but one man’s misfortune is another man’s opportunity. When Finn Balor got injured by AJ Styles last week, he called him and asked him to take his place as the interim leader of the O.C. Cole brings up his history and says when it came to the US branch of the O.C. before he came to the UK, he was their leader and took care of business so Finn knew the group would be in safe hands.

Adam Cole has a slightly smug and suspicious smirk on his face as he says those lines, but none of the rest of the O.C. suspects anything as he carries on. He says Armageddon was just the start for The O.C. and promises a bright future for the group. Adam Cole points out the fact that he was able to pin AJ Styles on his first night as a SmackDown superstar. Cole says he is a future World Champion and that’s Undisputed, bringing the promo to an end with a cocky smirk.

When we return from the commercial break, we cut to THE BLOODLINE’S LOCKER ROOM with the signature table set up. The chair at the head of the table is empty, with JACOB FATU and PAUL HEYMAN sitting across from one another, whilst JIMMY USO and NAOMI sit on one side next to each other, whilst JEY USO sits across the table as he asks The Wiseman what his plan is for tonight. Paul does his signature evil smirk and tells Jey that his plan is tonight, we end the reign of Daniel Bryan.

Jey Uso nods with a smile, saying it is about time, before asking which one of them is going to land the final blow in honour of the Chief. Paul says he has made the call, it will be Jacob, which gets a nod from the group, with Fatu saying he loves Roman and will honour his chief tonight. Naomi still looks annoyed, but Heyman says that Tamina was needed to make sure The Ones stay on top. Naomi nods before saying it is time for her to become Queen and walks off towards the ring, ending the segment.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*WHERE I BELONG*

XIA BROOKSIDE
makes her way out first, getting little reaction from the live crowd. The bubbly NXT UK superstar slaps hands with the fans and looks to hype them up on the way to the ring. Corey Graves says Xia is a young talent who has been impressing on NXT UK, as Beth chimes in to say she faces a big test if she is looking to become Queen as she takes on…

*AMAZING (REMIX)*

NAOMI
makes her way to the ring, getting loud boos from the crowd, and she noticeably looks even more pissed off than normal on her way to the ring. Corey Graves says Naomi is likely still furious after failing to walk out of Armageddon with the WWE Women’s title. Beth Phoenix points out that Ember Moon’s interference and the lack of Tamina to stop it will be the excuse given by The Bloodline, but Naomi will have none of those excuses if she loses tonight. Naomi steps into the ring with the plucky youngster as the referee rings the bell to get the match underway!

Match 2: Queen of the Ring 1st Round match: Naomi vs Xia Brookside

Match summary:
Xia offers a handshake to Naomi, who looks at it with disgust before CLOBBERING HER WITH A FOREARM SMASH! Naomi dominates the rest of the match and takes out a lot of her anger on the rookie. Xia does a little bit of a fight back before Naomi cuts it off with a SIT-OUT FACEBUSTER INTO A SPILT-LEGGED MOONSAULT to advance to the last 16!

Winner via pinfall: Naomi (3:53)

Naomi gets to her feet, but there is barely any celebration from the veteran tonight, whilst Xia Brookside leaves the ring licking her wounds. Corey Graves says Naomi will be hard to beat in this tournament, with Beth Phoenix confirming Naomi will face the winner of Carmella and Nina Samuels in the next round, as we cut to a commercial break.

*THRONE OF GOLD*

DEONNA PURRAZZO
slowly walks out to start the 2nd hour of SmackDown Live! She is getting loud boos from the live crowd, but she looks at the fans with disdain, not bothered by their negative reaction. Corey Graves says Deonna has earned herself a WWE Women’s title match at Queen of the Ring after her win on the Armageddon pre-show. Beth Phoenix says Deonna has been unbeaten since coming to SmackDown and could prove a huge threat to Taynara Conti’s WWE Women’s title reign!

Deonna steps into the ring with a microphone in hand and a smug smirk, telling the crowd she has chosen to speak to them directly instead of her home, so they should treat her with respect. The crowd, of course, responds with loud boos, which makes her shake her head. Deonna tells the fans she is already regretting being out here, but she will indulge them because she needs to correct their ignorance. This further boos, but Deonna shakes her head, making it clear that she is not allied with Ember Moon.

Deonna wags a finger and makes it very clear that it was a mutual agreement that benefited both women. The crowd boos, but she says she wouldn’t expect the fans to understand her logic. Deonna states that if Ember had already cashed in the briefcase, she wouldn’t have to worry about her potentially getting involved in her title match in 3 weeks. She smiles and says people didn’t see her thinking of that because they are not as smart as the Virtuoso! Deonna is about to carry on until…

*SHAKE SHAKE*

TAYNARA CONTI
storms out with a microphone and the WWE Women’s title around her waist! She is joined by her tag team partner XIA LI, who looks even more crossed, but Conti makes it clear that she doesn’t appreciate Deonna trying to screw her out of the title by helping Ember win it. Deonna chuckles that it was nothing personal and she was just doing the smart thing. Conti and Li get into the ring as the Brazilian Badass confronts Deonna, asking if she did it because she is scared of Conti!

The crowd loudly cheers, but Deonna looks furious and denies that claim, promising that Conti is going to learn very soon that it is stupid to piss her off. Xia Li, at this point, steps forward and makes it clear she wants to kick Deonna’s ass first! Purrazzo chuckles and calls Xia Li a peon in the way of the actual gold, but if she has to hurt her one more time, she will next week. Deonna finishes the promo, promising to take another piece off the board before she is crowned champion, bringing the promo to an end as Conti watches on with an angry glare.

After the break, ALEISTER BLACK sits in a dark room, icy stare fixed and burn marks from Karrion Kross’s fireball still visible. But now, a new rage burns within. He says WrestleMania should be the stuff of dreams, but for him, it was his greatest failure. Clips show Black losing Hell in a Cell to Seth Rollins before returning to his snarling face.

Aleister says he was supposed to expose Seth and bring him to Hell, but he was too weak to complete the task. Black slowly rises to his feet, full of anger, and looks at the camera, saying he came back to stop Bray Wyatt. He didn’t do it to save Kevin Owens; he did it because he needed to confront the darkness within himself. No man is truly good and no man is truly evil, but he has forgotten that by becoming too good, so now he will destroy the Fiend to re-find the darkness he needs!

ROWE
marches out when we cut back to the ring, getting a decent pop from the live crowd. Corey Graves mentions that Rowe has had to get used to singles action with his tag team partner Hanson, who is still on the shelf due to an injury picked up last year. Beth Phoenix says he faces a tough challenge when he steps into the ring with…

*DEAD SILENT*

KARRION KROSS! T
he crowd boos as Kross is joined by SCARLETT BORDEAUX as his siren of sin leads him to the ring. Corey Graves highlights the fact that the devil of the Church of Seth Rollins was the only member to pick up a win at Armageddon! Beth Phoenix also confirms that Seth Rollins is not here tonight and we will hear from him next week. Karrion Kross steps into the ring with Rowe as the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway!

Match 3: Karrion Kross w/Scarlett Bordeaux vs Rowe

Match summary:
Kross and Rowe lay into each other with hard strikes in the middle of the ring. Rowe has a good showing and even shows off his legit agility for someone his size but in the end, Kross traps him in the KROSS JACKET AND ROWE HAS TO TAP OUT GIVING KROSS THE VICTORY!

Winner via submission: Karrion Kross (4:01)

Kross drops the lifeless body of Rowe back to the mat and gets to his feet, celebrating another victory tonight. The commentary team puts over the Devil’s strength and his dominance tonight as we cut to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, we cut to inside one of the locker rooms, and we see TUCKER KNIGHT sitting down, visibly furious as he clenches his fists and scowls at the floor. His mood doesn’t improve when his tag team partner, OTIS DOZOVIC walks in hesitantly. Tucker instantly gets to his feet, blocking Otis’s path, and confronts him directly. He demands to know why Otis wasn’t focused on the match. Otis, shifting uneasily, stutters before explaining he was checking on Mandy after she was put through the tables. Tucker shakes his head in frustration, insisting that Mandy shouldn’t have even been at ringside.

Otis points out that she only came to the ring to stop Tamina from trying to steal the match from the Bloodline. The door opens behind them, but they don’t notice SONYA DEVILLE walking into the room. Tucker says it doesn’t matter, and their sole focus should have been on becoming WWE Tag Team Champions for the 3rd time. Tucker says they could have gotten revenge for him getting injured, but instead, Otis was more focused on getting a bit… SONYA CUTS TUCKER OFF TELLING HIM TO WATCH HIS MOUTH!

Sonya says Mandy was there because she cares about Otis and wanted to make sure you both got your revenge, but you are clearly jealous that Otis is at your beck and call! Tucker fires back, saying he wants Otis to focus on work at work instead of his love life. Knight says they come here to win titles, not get a new girlfriend. Otis tells Tucker that is enough and spins him around as the two men look ready to come to blows… WHEN AN INJURED MANDY ROSE WALKS INTO THE ROOM AND STANDS BETWEEN THEM!

Mandy tells them both to stop, and she doesn’t want them to break up! She turns to Tucker and says sorry for getting involved, but she saw Tamina and didn’t want The Bloodline screwing Heavy Machinery again! Tucker shakes his head and says he needs to clear his head. He storms off as Otis turns to Mandy and gives her a kiss, with Mandy saying to go after Tucker and clear the air. Otis leaves as Sonya asks Mandy if she is OK. Mandy says she’ll be fine for her match with Shayna Baszler next week, though Sonya looks unsure as we cut back to the ring.

*FORTUNE RISING*

XIA LI
walks out for the 2nd time tonight, this time to her own music and gets decent cheers from the live crowd. Corey Graves says this is a big opportunity for Xia Li and says winning Queen of the Ring could add a rocket to her career to take her to Conti’s heights. Beth Phoenix says she has been given a tough first-round draw as she faces Mrs Money in the Bank…

*ATHENA*

EMBER MOON!
She has a scowl on her face, getting loud boos from the crowd, and proceeds to trash-talk the fans on the way to the ring, slapping her briefcase and shouting she will soon be a double champ! Corey Graves says Ember Moon has to be one of the favourites to win the entire tournament in his book. Beth Phoenix chimes in to say she may not like the attitude of Ember, but there is no denying the talent. Ember steps into the ring as the two women stare each other down, and the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway!

Match 4: Queen of the Ring 1st Round match: Ember Moon vs Xia Li

Match summary:
Ember starts by trash-talking Xia Lia—XIA KICKS HER IN THE HEAD! Ember falls, and Xia nearly gets a 2 count. The next few minutes belong to Xia, who exploits Ember's lack of respect and unloads a series of kicks. Ember rallies with a DRAGON SCREW LEG WHIP then targets Xia's leg with a RINGPOST FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK!

Ember targets the leg throughout the rest of the match, looking to slow down Xia Li and stop her lethal offense. Xia tries to fight through the pain and damage being inflicted by Ember Moon, but now Mrs. Money in the Bank is taking it seriously; she struggles to keep up. In the end, Ember Moon heads up top and waits for Xia Li to struggle back to her feet before finishing her off with THE ECLIPSE!

Winner via pinfall: Ember Moon (7:57)

Ember gets back to her feet and smirks for the first time since coming out to the ring. Ember Moon lifts her Money in the Bank briefcase into the air as she celebrates the victory. She shouts and gloats to the live crowd that she is going to be Queen as the commentary team hypes up the clash in two weeks with Dani Luna, as we cut to the commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, we cut to the E.S.T. BIANCA BELAIR, who is standing backstage with a slight smile on her face. She calls Armageddon a successful night for her, where not only did she kick Ember Moon’s ass, but she stopped her from cashing in the Money in the Bank Briefcase! Bianca makes it clear that she will keep on stopping Ember Moon from cashing that briefcase in because she hates the bitch. She says Ember is entitled and thinks she deserves everything when she isn’t on Belair’s level!

Bianca says she used Ember’s own briefcase against her, but Ember can’t help but make excuses for her own failures once again. Bianca makes it clear that she is now focused on winning Queen of the Ring and getting the Women’s title shot she has earned! Belair says it will be fun stepping back to her old stomping ground of NXT and wishes Stevie Turner luck because she is going to need it stepping into the ring with The E.S.T.!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We next cut to a hype video showing IYO SKY and ZOEY STARK from NXT! We can see them working together and bonding as tag team partners (no, not that segment from NXT 2.0). We also see Iyo Sky’s time as NXT Women’s Champion and even highlights of her Stardom run. The video package ends with a short promo from the team with Iyo throwing out a challenge to either of the tag team champions to fight her on NXT next week!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut to the BOSS ‘N’ HUG CONNECTION standing watch the video package on a TV screen backstage, looking unimpressed, before they are interrupted by BYRON SAXTON for an interview. He asks what their thoughts are on what they just saw, but SASHA BANKS is dismissive, saying that they might be good, but they are great, and there is a level above the teams on NXT. BAYLEY reminds everyone that they put NXT on the map and made people pay attention to NXT. Bayley says she accepts Iyo’s challenge and will see her next Wednesday as SmackDown Live goes to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, see KEVIN OWENS sitting backstage deep in thought when he is approached for an interview by KAYLA BRAXTON! She asks him if he heard what Aleister Black had to say earlier tonight, and Kevin nods. He says he viewed Aleister as a friend these last few months, but he gets the darkness that can seep in when you think you have become too weak and let yourself down. Kevin brings up his history with Sami Zayn and the things he did to him in NXT.

He says he has done many bad things over his career and listened to his dark side… which he felt coming out when fighting The Fiend last Sunday. Kayla asks how he is holding up, and Owens says he is a bit sore, but mostly because he didn’t get the chance to finish off the Fiend. He thanks Black for his help on Sunday, but makes it clear that he still has unfinished business, so if Black wants to fight The Fiend too, they can fight him together, or he’ll go through him to do it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut back to the ring as THE SINGH BROTHERS are standing in the ring talking to each other and playing to the fans in the crowd. Corey Graves says he heard The Wiseman managed to pull a few strings and got them a match on SmackDown tonight. Beth Phoenix says it is a good opportunity for them to get into tag team title contention as they wait for their opponents to make their entrance!

*EL GRITO DE METALIK*

GRAN METALIK
makes his way onto the entrance ramp, getting a decent pop from the live crowd. He has a smile on his face as he waits for his tag team partner and ally since WrestleMania 37 in…

*RISE FOR THE NIGHT*

DAMIAN PRIEST!
He storms to the ring looking furious and Gran Metalik can barely keep up with his tag team partner. The commentary team says Priest is still likely angry after his loss to Karrion Kross at Armageddon as he steps into the ring and BIG BOOTS SUNIL SINGH OUT OF THE RING! He grabs Samir Singh and demands that the referee call for the bell, which he does.

Match 5: Damian Priest and Gran Metalik vs The Singh Brothers

Match summary:
Damian Priest doesn’t even waste any time as he batters Samir Singh before finishing him off with THE RECKONING!

Winners via pinfall: Damian Priest and Gran Metalik (0:34)

Damian Priest wins the match in a decisive fashion without even needing to tag in his tag team partner. Gran Metalik comes into the ring looking to celebrate with his tag team partner, but Priest is not in the mood, storming off to the back. Metalik shrugs his shoulders and sighs, celebrating in the ring alone as we cut elsewhere backstage.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We see ALPHA ACADEMY MINUS KURT ANGLE walking down the hallway and heading towards the ring led by DANIEL BRYAN! All of them look to be wincing in pain after the attack earlier tonight, when BYRON SAXTON stops them, looking for a quick word. He asks if Bryan is still going to go ahead with his open challenge even after The Bloodline’s attack earlier tonight. Bryan looks at the interviewer with an angry glare before confirming nothing is stopping him from defending his Men’s Universal title, and he marches to the ring ahead of the main event for the evening!

We return from the commercial break; we cut straight to the commentary desk as Corey Graves and Beth Phoenix look confused as they tell us there is a situation backstage that was taking place during the commercial break. We cut to footage backstage as a bunch of cameramen are running to see NAOMI AND OTHER RANDOM FAMILY MEMBERS BLOCKING A BUNCH OF LOCKER ROOM DOORS SO NO ONE ELSE CAN ANSWER THE OPEN CHALLENGE FOR THE MAIN EVENT! The commentary says this must be the Bloodline’s plan for tonight’s main event as…

*FLIGHT OF THE VALKYRIES*

DANIEL BRYAN WALKS OUT!
He looks to still be wincing in pain as CHAD GABLE, BUDDY MURPHY, and DANIEL GARCIA are behind him as backup to make sure of no funny business by The Bloodline. Corey Graves wonders if it is a good idea to still do the challenge after the damage earlier tonight and coming off a tough title defence at Armageddon. Beth Phoenix says Bryan is too much of a fighting champion to consider otherwise as he stands in the ring ready to find out who is accepting the challenge…

THE BLOODLINE MEMBERS JACOB FATU AND THE USOS ATTACK ALPHA ACADEMY WITH STEEL CHAIRS FROM BEHIND OUTSIDE THE RING! They laid a beating on the members of the Academy. Bryan realizes what is going on and DIVES OUT OF THE RING, WIPING OUT THE USOS! Daniel Bryan gets back to his feet… BUT JACOB FATU RUNS THROUGH HIM, WIPING HIM OUT! The crowd loudly boos as Fatu rolls Bryan back into the ring!

He gets into the ring and starts to lay a beating on Daniel Bryan as he tosses him around the ring using his size to batter Daniel Bryan. Bryan tries to fight back, but Jacob Fatu is in total control of the match, dominating Bryan to the point where he can’t get off the mat! Fatu carries on the beating and SLAMS HIM DOWN TO THE MAT WITH A POP-UP SAMOAN DROP! Jacob Fatu then follows up by leaping to the top rope and hitting THE MIGHTY MOONSAULT!

Jacob Fatu stands tall over Daniel Bryan as we can see the referee step into the match to check on Bryan. The Men’s Universal Champion can barely move but tells the referee to call for the bell… BUT THE USOS PULL THE REFEREE OUT OF THE RING?!?! The referee looks confused, but The Usos point to the stage as PAUL HEYMAN walks out with a microphone in hand! He does his usual spiel and introduces himself as Paul Heyman, as we can see The Usos and Jacob Fatu attacking Alpha Academy members outside the ring, taking them through the crowd!

Paul Heyman smugly wanders onto the entrance ramp as he looks at Daniel Bryan on the mat, who is still struggling to stand. Paul Heyman says tonight is the end of Daniel Bryan’s false reign atop the WWE Men’s division because tonight his open challenges come to an end, which was always destined! The crowd loudly boos, but he tells the fans that this is not a prediction but a spoiler and confirms that the man answering the open challenge is THE TRIBAL CHIEF…

*HEAD OF THE TABLE*

ROMAN REIGNS! The heat is nuclear, but Roman doesn’t care as he slowly saunters onto the entrance ramp with Daniel Bryan, realizing how much danger her Men’s Universal title reign is in! Corey Graves says Daniel Bryan’s open challenges are backfiring on him because he now has to defend the title against the Tribal Chief. Beth Phoenix chimes in to add that Paul Heyman has executed this plan perfectly, and we might be seeing the end of Bryan’s Universal title reign. Roman steps into the ring, but BRYAN GOES AFTER HIM AND CATCHES HIM OFF-GUARD! The referee looks confused, but Bryan tells him to ring the bell!

Main event: Men’s Universal title match: Daniel Bryan © vs Roman Reigns

Match summary:
Bryan is firing everything he has at Roman as the commentary says he is smart enough to know if he doesn’t end this quickly… he isn’t walking out of Hartford with his Men’s Universal title! Bryan is getting the fans behind him… BUT ROMAN CUTS HIM OFF WITH ONE LARIAT! Roman stalks Bryan, happy to take the pace out of the match, and starts to grind Bryan down on the mat. The crowd is booing the loudest we have heard all night as Roman works over him in a headlock!

The crowd is still willing Bryan on as they hope to see a miracle and him to escape from tonight as Men’s Universal Champion! Bryan starts to mount a fight back, but at every hope spot, Roman cuts him off with a power move as he shows his dominance over the Men’s Universal Champion! The commentary team notes that Bryan can see his World title reign slipping through his fingers as Roman charges in looking for the SPEAR… BRYAN COUNTERS WITH THE BUSAIKU KNEE! Bryan makes the cover, but Roman kicks out at 2!

Bryan doesn’t act shocked and stays focused, looking to press the advantage as Bryan grabs hold of the head of Roman, proceeding to lock him in the YES LOCK! The crowd loudly starts to chant “YES” as Bryan hooks his arms around the neck of Roman Reigns as he looks to force him to tap out… BUT ROMAN REFUSES TO GIVE UP AS PAUL SHOUTS WHERE THE ROPES ARE! Roman crawls and crawls, but BRYAN PULLS WITH EVERYTHING HE HAS… ROMAN IS SO CLOSE TO TAPPING… BUT HE GRABS THE ROPES!

Bryan holds on till the count of 5 before finally letting go of the yes lock! Bryan doesn’t even play to the fans and instead stays on the attack by going back over to Roman as he starts to lay into him with a SERIES OF STOMPS TO THE HEAD! Bryan is laying into Roman with everything he has before he heads back to the corner, ready to go for a SECOND BUSAIKU KNEE… BUT ROMAN REIGNS CUTS HIM OFF WITH A SPEAR! Roman makes the cover 1 2 BRYAN KICKS OUT!

Roman Reigns looks stunned and can’t believe that Bryan kicked out, leading to the Tribal Chief panicking a little until outside the ring, PAUL HEYMAN CALMS HIM DOWN! He tells Roman to stay on him, and he grabs Bryan, who is struggling on the mat, LOCKING HIM IN THE GUILLOTINE CHOKE! Roman wrenches the hold tightly around the neck of Bryan, ready to choke the life out of him as BRYAN TRIES TO FIGHT OUT OF IT… BUT HE CAN’T, AND HE PASSES OUT!

Winner via submission and NEW Men’s Universal Champion: Roman Reigns (10:53)

The crowd is furious, and the boos reign down, but there is no denying it: Roman Reigns is now a 7-time World Champion! The Wiseman Paul Heyman enters the ring and lifts his Tribal Chief’s arm into the air as they soak in the loud boos from the fans, enjoying every little bit of the anger they have created with this outcome. Corey Graves says The Bloodline had a plan and executed it to perfection tonight. Beth Phoenix says Bryan was a true fighting champion, but Roman has made him die on his sword.

Roman looks at his Men’s Universal title with a big smile, whilst Bryan slowly staggers to his feet… ROMAN CLOCKS HIM WITH THE TITLE BELT TO EVEN LOUDER BOOS! Roman passes the title to his Wiseman before grabbing Bryan and tossing him out of the ring! He looks to the announce table and tears it apart before SLAMMING BRYAN THROUGH IT WITH A CRUCFIX POWERBOMB! Bryan is laid out in the wreckage before Roman returns to the ring with Paul Heyman, holding his Universal title as the show fades to black!

- The Tribal Chief...The Head of the Table Roman Reigns is back and he answers Daniel Bryan's Open Challenge for the WWE Universal Championship and wins the title back after The Bloodline did most of the damage not only taking out Alpha Academy but softening up Bryan enough for Reigns to take advantage

- Reigns didn't just beat Bryan...he destroyed him...payback for what happened in the main event of WrestleMania and I knew it was just a matter of time before Reigns would return and he has his family more dominant than ever plus a Wise Man in Paul Heyman on top of it

- ☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝ Roman is once again acknowledged as not just Tribal Chief but as Champion but now who is going to stop him or The Bloodline for that matter? I dare any man or faction that is on this brand to try especially now that he has Heyman and The Bloodline by his side...all is right in the world again thank God

- Aleister Black vs KO is bound to happen now because they both want The Fiend

- I just have a feeling Seth Rollins is about to be kicked out of his own group because Kross will realize that he doesn't need Rollins after all and that they all have been winning without him and that Rollins is the weak link...hence them kicking him out and turning on him

- Adam Cole now that he is the leader of The OC...you have him, Devlin and The Good Brothers on this brand but will they target gold?

Swerve Strickland out of in-ring action for the rest of the month:

The injuries keep piling up in the WWE, as Swerve Strickland is the latest superstar to pick up an injury on a house show. He has a broken nose, which will rule him out of in-ring action for the rest of the month, but he is still expected to appear on the show in the coming weeks as a major part of the current stories on the Red brand.

Swerve out if only for a month is okay because in The Hurt Business you have AR Fox right there to pick up the slack in Swerve's absence

HOUSE OF MEMORIES - P!ATD

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Match 1: Big E w/The New Day vs James Storm

Match summary: This week’s edition of Monday Night Raw starts off by going straight into the action as Men’s WWE Champion Big E takes on James Storm in singles action. The veteran comes into this match with a point to prove. Storm is crafty and looks to use any tricks he can to pull off what would be a huge upset in this match, but Big E is in the form of his career and puts him away with the BOOTY DROP!

Winner via pinfall: Big E (6:03)

Big E gets to his feet after the match and is joined inside the ring by the rest of the New Day, with all 3 men once again having their titles on show for the live crowd. Big E takes the microphone first, giving James Storm credit for the tough fight he gave him, but says there is another level people will need to get to if they are going to take this WWE title from him. Big E proceeds to call out Cesaro, saying he heard his comments last week. He tells the Swiss Superman not to take his respect for him as weakness, and he’ll see him later tonight.

Big E then passes the microphone to Kofi, letting him speak now. Kofi says he gets to find out later tonight who will be fighting him for the Intercontinental title in 2 weeks. He promises to sit on commentary and watch first-hand who gets the chance to fight for this, showing off his Intercontinental title. Xavier Woods takes the microphone last out of the group and says that later tonight, he will show everyone why they believed in him, and he will keep the Cruiserweight title around his waist!

When we come back from the commercial break, we see Alexa Bliss and Mickie James in a locker room hanging out together. Mickie James is shown getting ready for her Queen of the Ring first-round match. Alexa Bliss is talking to her and saying they need to plan for Alex’s last 16 match, but Mickie says they can after she takes care of her business. Bliss chuckles, and Mickie gives her a dirty look, asking why she is laughing. Bliss initially stays quiet, but Mickie pushes on it.

Alexa says she will need to see her win to believe it. Mickie fires back at Bliss and asks why she doubts she will beat Ruby Riott. Alexa says she knows how great Mickie once was, but she hasn’t exactly been showing it lately. Mickie fires back, saying neither of them has been on top form lately, but Bliss says she is already in the last 16 of the Queen of the Ring and has years ahead of her. Bliss smirks to end the promo, asking Mickie how long she has left?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We then cut to the ring as Randy Orton slowly makes his way out. He gets his signature loud mixed reaction from the live crowd, but pays little attention to the fans in attendance. He steps into the ring and addresses the live crowd, saying once again that his attacking Drew McIntyre was nothing personal. He says, like Bobby Lashley, he looked around and surveyed the landscape before making a decision to go after the toughest man around, which was Drew McIntyre!

He gives Drew McIntyre credit, saying he has beaten him before and last year, he was on top of the world. Winning the Royal Rumble and then the WWE title at WrestleMania is only something legends can do… but Orton has made a career of killing legends. He says Drew has fallen down and is now in a position where someone can strike to overtake him in the pecking order. Orton says he wants to make sure he is next in line for a shot at the WWE or Universal title, no matter which brand he ends up on.

Drew McIntyre would then make his way out with a microphone in hand and tell Randy that if he just wanted a match, all he had to do was ask. Orton shakes his head, saying that exact response is why Drew hasn’t got his WWE title back! Orton says Drew is lacking the ruthless edge he needs to stay at the top. He has all the skills to make it there once, but after you make it, it gets so much harder to stay at the top of this company. Drew shakes his head, saying he can be ruthless when he needs to be, and challenges Orton to fight him right now!

The crowd loudly cheers, wanting to see the two former World Champions collide in the middle of the ring, but Orton tells Drew he won’t fight him tonight. The crowd loudly boos as Drew asks if he is scared now that Drew is expecting it, but Orton shakes his head. Orton says he is a legend and a star, so when he fights, he wants to make sure people are watching. He tells Drew McIntyre he will fight in two weeks here on Raw and show Drew that he has some way to go, ending the segment.

When we return from the commercial break, we can see MVP, Swerve Strickland, and AR Fox meeting in what appears to be a conference room. Swerve noticeably wears a face protector over his nose as MVP, and thanks them for meeting him privately before he discusses it with the rest of the group. Swerve says it is not a problem and that they just want to do what’s best for the Hurt Business. MVP smiles, saying he hears that, but then outright asks Swerve why he went against their wishes for his match with Lio Rush!

Swerve says he was proving that Lio Rush was not ruthless, doing whatever it takes to get a job done, whilst AR Fox, after listening to Swerve, is. AR Fox says he was floundering on Monday Night Raw when he wasn’t listening to his close friend, but now, he has listened to him and sees the light; he knows they can get gold back into the group. Swerve points out that adding AR Fox would be a good business move because he can compete for titles, whilst the rest of the group cannot.

MVP looks to be thinking about the offer and says Swerve has a good point, but he asks how they can do business with someone who would go behind their backs. Swerve says he gets why MVP is wary to trust him, but reminds Montel that he was the very first recruit into the group for a reason. He says MVP saw that he was the future, and he will help get gold back in the Hurt Business. MVP says he will talk to the others and consider what Swerve said as he shakes their hands before leaving.

Match 2: Queen of the Ring 1st Round match: Tegan Nox vs Tamina

Match summary:
Tamina comes into this match not at 100% after going through the tables at Armageddon. Tegan controls the majority of the match using her speed and kicks before putting away Tamina with the SHINEST WIZARD to advance to the last 16!

Winner via pinfall: Tegan Nox (3:14)

Tegan gets to her feet and celebrates to loud cheers from the fans in the crowd. The commentary team talks about her run to the semi-finals next year and confirms she will face the winner of Mandy Rose and Shayna Baszler in the last 16 in a couple of weeks as Raw goes to a commercial break.

We return from the commercial break to see British Strong Style standing next to Cathy Kelley, ready for an interview. She asks them about their recent issues with the Grizzled Young Veterans and Trent Seven. Tyler Bate speaks first, saying it has been a rough time for them because it is never nice to be betrayed by someone who is meant to be one of your best friends. He turns to Pete Dunne and says they are angry about what happened, but they have each other’s backs.

Pete Dunne says Trent made the biggest mistake of his career by betraying us as he did, but we have no plans to take it lying down! He talks about snapping the fingers of anyone who gets in their way before TRENT SEVEN AND THE GYV ATTACK BRITISH STRONG STYLE FROM BEHIND! The numbers game proves too much as the young British duo try to fight back, but, in the end, all 3 men lay them out. Trent walks over to Cathy and says That’s why he ditched them.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Match 3: Ricochet vs Humberto Carrillo w/Angel Garza

Match summary:
Ricochet comes into this match with a point to prove after a rough year, but Humberto has no intention of giving him an easy victory on Raw tonight. Humberto shows a lot of the improvements he has made in the ring ever since he joined The Ungovernables towards the end of the year, but it is not enough to stop Ricochet, who manages to put him away with RECOIL!

Winner via pinfall: Ricochet (7:44)

Ricochet gets to his feet and celebrates the victory, though he noticeably doesn’t celebrate too much. The commentary team hypes up Ricochet as a potential Cruiserweight title challenger, but his celebration is cut short by a sneak attack by Angel Garza! He grabs hold of the One and Only before planting him to the mat with the WING CLIPPER to loud boos from the crowd as Raw goes to a commercial break.

The 2nd hour of Monday Night Raw starts with Rhea Ripley making her way out to the ring. The crowd gives Rhea loud cheers, but Rhea Ripley is angry on route to the ring. Rhea gets into the ring before she makes it clear that she is not a patient person and has never been that way. She says she knows why Charlotte Flair is ducking her after her antics at Backlash, but she doesn’t plan on waiting any longer to fight her to loud cheers from the crowd.

She paces around the ring and makes it clear that she told her friend Tegan to stay in the back so that Charlotte had no excuses about a numbers game. Rhea keeps on pacing, but there is no sign of the Queen, so Rhea says she is more than happy to go to the back and drag Charlotte to this ring by her hair if she has to! Eventually, Charlotte Flair walks onto the entrance ramp, getting loud boos from the fans, but the Queen has a cocky smirk on her face as she points at Ripley in the ring.

Charlotte Flair asks Rhea what the hurry is and says the damage she did to the right leg, Rhea should be counting herself lucky she can even make it to the Queen of the Ring. Rhea looks unimpressed, but Charlotte carries on, saying fighting with Rhea Ripley tonight will do nothing for Rhea except hurt her ahead of the biggest match of her career. Rhea scoffs and says she already had that when she won this Women’s Universal title at WrestleMania 37!

Charlotte shakes her head and tells Rhea Ripley that stepping into the ring with her is the highlight of anyone’s career. Rhea scoffs and says Then why doesn’t she give her the highlight early. Charlotte shakes her head and says she is more than happy to wait. She also quips why she would attack Rhea when she can get someone else to… AS NIA JAX ATTACKS RHEA RIPLEY FROM BEHIND! The crowd loudly boos as Nia Jax starts to beat down Ripley using the sneak attack to her advantage!

Charlotte Flair tosses the microphone to the side and sprints down the ring, happy to attack Rhea Ripley when the numbers are to her advantage. She and Nia work together to target the right leg of Rhea Ripley, but before they can do too much damage… TEGAN NOX RUNS OUT WITH A STEEL CHAIR IN HER HANDS! She sprints to the ring and slides inside before chasing off the heels. Tegan dares them both to come back, but Charlotte and Nia are happy to retreat for now as Raw goes to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, we see Charlotte Flair talking to Nia Jax backstage and pays her with a wad of cash. Nia smirks, looking happy, before the pair are approached by Raw’s commissioner, Wade Barrett. He says it is good to see his talent getting along and asks if they like working together. Nia says as long as I’m getting paid, which makes Wade smile, as he says, since they are paid by him, in that case, they can fight Rhea Ripley and Tegan Nox on next week’s Raw!

Match 4: Bobby Lashley w/Lio Rush vs Cedric Alexander w/Shelton Benjamin

Match summary:
Bobby Lashley comes into this match focused, but Cedric catches him off guard early on in the match! Cedric fires off on Bobby Lashley and lays into him with a series of hard strikes, peppering the All Mighty, who has to take a step back and replan how he is going to take down his opponent tonight. Shelton and Lio outside the ring cheer on their tag team partners as the commentary team makes note of the fact that MVP is backstage conducting business as we speak.

Cedric, as the match goes along, starts to struggle against the power of Bobby Lashley, who starts to take control of the match. Cedric tries to stay alive in this match and even tries to go for the LUMBAR CHECK… BUT HE CAN’T GET LASHLEY UP! Cedric follows up instead with a SUPERKICK, keeping him down before heading to the corner of the ring looking to dive off with OVERDRIVE… BOBBY CATCHES HIM WITH A MID-AIR SPEAR, CUTTING HIM RIGHT OFF! Bobby makes the cover and picks up the victory!

Winner via pinfall: Bobby Lashley (8:45)

Bobby gets to his feet and flexes to the live crowd, impressed with that brutal spear, as Shelton slides into the ring to check on Cedric after that brutal impact from the All Mighty. The commentary team puts over Bobby Lashley's performances as of late and even makes note that he is on a bit of a winning streak after losing to Orton at Backlash. Lio Rush slides into the ring, chatting to Bobby Lashley as Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin also rise to their feet, offering a handshake, but Lio and Bobby say we will talk, leaving the ring as Raw goes to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush are talking to each other as they walk through the back, when they are stopped by Tom Phillips. He asks them about what we just saw and Bobby is starting to believe The Hurt Business had nothing to do with AR Fox’s actions. Bobby pauses and says he is still unsure what to make of it. Lio says he trusts them, but they are also going to focus on themselves for now and get payback on the people they know screwed him for now bringing the interview to an end!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We then cut back to the ring as Samoa Joe makes his way out to the ring with a microphone in his hand and looks to be all business. He takes a moment to pace around the ring and starts by saying he has his thoughts on what Swerve Strickland pulled to stay in the Hurt Business. Joe says he is not a good person, but he is a man who believes in honour among thieves. He tells the crowd that Swerve told them he did not need help to win, yet used AR Fox to make sure he didn’t lose to Lio Rush.

Samoa Joe says he will be talking to MVP, but if he had any say, Swerve wouldn’t be in the Hurt Business any longer. This gets loud cheers from the live crowd, but Joe doesn’t care as he says he didn’t come out here to talk about that. Joe says he came out here to talk to a man face-to-face who wanted to challenge him to a match next week. He tells Keith Lee to get his ass to this ring right now. This gets a loud pop from the crowd, and we don’t have to wait long as Mr Money in the Bank, Keith Lee, walks out to a loud pop from the live crowd.

Keith Lee takes his time walking to the ring, with Joe staring down his challenger next week. Keith steps into the ring and comes face to face with Samoa Joe, taking a few seconds before speaking, saying Joe wanted to see him. Samoa Joe tells Keith Lee it takes a lot of guts to challenge him to a fight, saying most men wouldn’t challenge him to a fight. Keith quips back that he isn’t most men and lifts the Money in the Bank briefcase into the air, which annoys Joe.

Joe says he might have that briefcase, but he still needs to prove he is good enough to be a world champion. Keith smirks and tells Joe that’s why he issued the challenge. Joe tilts his head as Keith brings up his loss at King of the Ring in the semi-finals last year. Keith Lee says that was the first ceiling on his rise, and until he beats Samoa Joe, he ain’t even going to think about cashing this briefcase in. Joe smirks and tells Keith Lee he might be smarter than he gave him credit for.

Samoa Joe says he is the measuring stick of this business, and he has every intention of getting back into the World title picture as soon as possible. He looks at Keith’s briefcase and looks back at Keith Lee, saying beating the limitless one will give a claim to that, and if he gets the briefcase, he cannot be denied his rightful spot in the World title picture. Keith says he can try, as Samoa Joe tells Keith Lee he will find out everyone thinks they have no limit till they meet me!

When we return from the commercial break, Andrade Cien Almas is walking through the back with Zelina Vega when Cathy Kelley stops them for an interview. She asks how Andrade is feeling ahead of the main event and the co-leader of the Ungovernables is cocky as ever. Zelina says Andrade is fully focused on Sami Zayn and getting The Ungovernables back to the top of Raw, where they belong. She points out the power vacuum currently in place with the Hurt Business locked out of the title picture.

Cathy says Zelina brings up an intriguing point, but also says the whole landscape on Raw could change in a few weeks due to the WWE Draft. Andrade smiles and tells Cathy that’s exactly why he wants to win the Intercontinental title. He says winning the title will prove how valuable the entire Ungovernables are to a brand, locking them in more money and more opportunities for gold. Cathy thanks them for their time as they walk off with cocky smirks on their faces.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We then cut to Piper Niven as she sits backstage looking pissed off after the recent losses on the last two Raws. Piper says she came to Raw with high hopes; she just came off a quarter-final run in Queen of the Ring before losing to a legend and a Hall of Famer in Beth Phoenix. Piper says the performance during that tournament was what earned the chance to compete on Monday Night Raw, and she felt it was only a matter of time before she became Women’s Universal Champion.

She thought it was going to happen in Scotland last year, but she fell just short of Shayna Baszler. Piper then thought it was time to get some guidance, so she turned to Melina. She is full of praise for her friend, but says it still wasn’t enough to help her, and now she is gone. Piper says she avenged her friend, but when she tried to get into title contention, Charlotte injured her, causing her loss to Natalya. Piper says she needs some time to refocus, but promises that when she comes back, she will do whatever she needs to if it means having gold around her waist.

Match 5: Cruiserweight title match: Xavier Woods © vs Oney Lorcan

Match summary:
Oney starts off this match in aggressive and typically smash mouth fashion as he lays into Woods with a series of hard strikes. He lays it in thick to Xavier and the champion has to weather a bit of a storm. Xavier though, uses what he has over Oney Lorcan and uses his agility to start to take control of the encounter, catching Lorcan out. The American looks to fire back, but Woods is ready for him, hitting a TORNADO DDT INTO LIMIT BREAK to pick up the win and retain the Cruiserweight title!

Winner via pinfall and still Cruiserweight Champion: Xavier Woods (6:32)

Xavier Woods gets to his feet and celebrates the victory whilst Oney Lorcan sulks in the corner of the ring, having been proven wrong about Woods not being able to get the job done alone. The commentary team puts this over as a big win for Xavier Woods in his first one-on-one Cruiserweight title defence before wondering who could be next for him. Xavier heads up the entrance ramp and carries on his celebrations as he gets ready to head backstage… CESARO MAKES HIS ENTRANCE WITH ILJA DRAGUNOV BY HIS SIDE!

The crowd gives the Swiss Superman loud cheers as Ilja Dragunov sprints towards the ring, whilst Cesaro stays at the top of the entrance ramp and trades words with Woods off-mic. It gets a little heated before Cesaro ends the argument by SHOULDER BARGING PAST WOODS AND MARCHING TO THE RING! Xavier looks furious but chooses to leave before we hear the entrance for Tommaso Ciampa and Baron Corbin as Raw goes to a commercial break.

Match 6: Cesaro and Ilja Dragunov vs Baron Corbin and Tommaso Ciampa

Match summary:
The 3rd hour of Monday Night Raw starts with this tag team match underway. Ciampa and Corbin try to work together as a tag team, but they bicker quite a bit with each other during the match. Cesaro and Ilja, as former tag team champions, work together a lot better, and it becomes clear as the match enters the closing stages that there is only going to be one team winning. They take care of Ciampa with a RICOLA BOMB INTO A DIVING UPPERCUT FROM ILJA before CESARO HITS A CESARO SWING INTO A DROPKICK FROM ILJA for the victory tonight!

Winners via pinfall: Cesaro and Ilja Dragunov (8:31)

Cesaro and Ilja get to their feet, celebrating the victory over Ciampa and Corbin tonight on Monday Night Raw. The commentary team praises both men for their impressive performance tonight and says Cesaro is in the form of his life, so it will be a big challenge for Big E to overcome. The celebrations carry on whilst the heels argue outside the ring as Raw goes to a commercial break.

Kofi tries to play peacemaker, but Ilja shouts back at him, saying Woods was disrespecting them, prompting Woods to fire back that they interrupted his celebrations.

Cesaro says he was taking too long and wonders if it is because it took so long to win a belt on his own… BIG E PUNCHES CESARO FOR THAT COMMENT! Cesaro clutches his jaw as Big E tells him to watch his mouth… BUT CESARO FIRES BACK WITH AN UPPERCUT DROPPING BIG E! Both men are ready to throw hands with one another, but their friends pull them back as tensions are starting to flare between the two men about to fight for the Men’s WWE title!

We cut back to the ring, and we can see The Miz's TV set in the middle of the ring, ready as Miz stands ready to host the show once again. He takes some time to play to the fans who are cheering for him before hyping himself and his achievements surrounding the Intercontinental title over the years. He calls himself the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time, and if anyone knows how to make someone an Intercontinental Champion, it is him!

He welcomes his guest at this time, the Celtic Warrior Sheamus! He gets loud cheers from the crowd and pounds his chest before walking to the ring, looking a bit annoyed on his way to the ring. He steps inside and looks at The Miz’s hand before slowly shaking it. He takes a seat, and Miz thanks him for agreeing to this. Sheamus sighs and says he is willing to give Miz one chance to prove why he should listen to the fella. Miz says it is all he will need before cutting to a video package he has made.

We see images of Miz winning the Intercontinental title 9 times over the years and clips of each other's wins, plus his over-played on Twitter Talking Smack promo. Sheamus is shown throughout watching on looking not particularly impressed, before the video package comes to an end. He turns back to Sheamus and asks what he thinks. The Celtic Warrior takes a moment to answer and says he respects what Miz has done, but the way he has managed on most occasions is via methods Sheamus wouldn’t use.

The Miz then proceeds to show a 2nd video package, which shows all the times that Sheamus has come close to winning the IC title and ended up losing. Sheamus looks furious at this, but Miz looks at him with a smile and says This is why he needs the help. Sheamus, though, loses his temper at this point and knocks his chair down, squaring up to The Miz! Miz backs away a bit and says he has one other way to prove it, challenging Sheamus to a match next week. Sheamus scowls before telling Miz he accepts bringing the segment to an end!

We then hear a few words from Kay Lee Rae, who says she has dominated NXT UK and now it is time for her to dominate the entire world, bringing the short promo to an end!

Match 7: Queen of the Ring 1st Round match: Isla Dawn vs Kay Lee Ray

Dawn does her best to keep up with Kay Lee Ray, but it becomes clear that the NXT UK star is on another level, and she picks up the victory, hitting Isla Dawn with the KLR BOMB to advance to the last 16!

Winner via pinfall: Kay Lee Ray (5:33)

Kay Lee Ray gets to her feet with a cocky smirk and taunts the fans, having gotten heat for some of her cheap shots during the match. The commentary team confirms it is an all-NXT affair in the last 16, as Kay Lee Ray will fight Lyra Valkyria in two weeks on SmackDown Live for a spot in the quarter finals, as we cut to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, we cut to inside the Hurt Business locker room as MVP sits on a chair in front of Samoa Joe, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander and EJ Nduka. He takes a moment to speak before saying he has filled them in what Swerve had to say in regards to his actions and help from AR Fox. MVP turns to Joe first and says he heard what Joe had to say in the ring earlier. The former WWE Champion responds with a nod saying silent as MVP turns to EJ Nduka.

EJ says Swerve just did what he needed to do to win, and maybe if we did a little more of that, we would still be holding titles. The other 3 members of the Hurt Business in the room with him give him a bit of a death glare before MVP turns to Cedric and Shelton. They both say it’s not how they would have taken care of the business with Lio Rush, but he stuck to his word on a technicality. They both want a bit of time to think about it, but at the end of the day, it is MVP’s call. MVP nods and says they will talk during the week before making the final decision next Monday as we cut back to the ring!

Match 8: Queen of the Ring 1st Round match: Mickie James vs Ruby Riott

Match summary:
Ruby comes into this match with a serious look on her face, still chasing her first gold in the WWE. Mickie James, meanwhile, has a scowl with the veteran on a bit of a losing streak as of late and wants to get back on track. Mickie, during the match, controls a lot of it, even using dirty tricks she would not normally use, but Ruby stays alive to the delight of the live crowd. Mickie’s frustration starts to build and, in the end, it gets the best of her as Ruby catches her with the RIOT KICK to advance to the last 16!

Winner via pinfall: Ruby Riott (7:41)

Ruby Riott gets to her feet, having picked up the victory over a multiple-time Women’s Champion. Mickie James looks furious and rolls out of the ring, kicking the steel steps in anger before she storms off backstage. She shakes her head as KyLinn King walks up to the pair of them and towers above both women before putting a hand on Shotzi’s good shoulder.

KyLinn says people aren't treating Shotzi with any respect, and she needs a friend who will not only have her back but also won’t leave her behind when she gets injured. Shotzi takes a moment to think before saying Ruby has been a great friend and brought her to Raw, but King asks her what Ruby has done for her lately, which leaves Shotzi deep in thought. KyLinn tells her to think about who is actually there for her as we cut elsewhere backstage.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut to the inside of what looks like The Hart Dungeon as we can see Marina Shafir grappling with some poor woman who is getting her ass kicked as Natalya and Shayna Baszler watch on. Natalya speaks first, telling the camera that no one expected her to beat Piper Niven, but that’s because the fans haven’t been paying attention to her history, her family legacy. Marina snaps the arm one more time and breaks it as the person screams in agony, rolling away.

Natalya says she is sick of being overlooked, and it doesn’t matter who wins on NXT, out of Emma or Jinny, she is doing what she needs to if it means making it to the quarter finals of the Queen of the Ring. Shayna says the group had a slight setback when Marina got caught, so we are having her undergo a bit more training to sharpen up, but I am ready to get right back to the top where I belong. She tells the camera that Mandy is too busy worrying about her boyfriend when she should be worried about which limb she is going to break on the way to becoming Queen!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut to a hallway backstage as Sami Zayn is shown walking to the ring when he is stopped by Tom Phillips for an interview. He asks about Sami now being one match away from a shot at getting back the Intercontinental title. Sami tells him that becoming a champion on Raw was something he had worked hard to get in contention for, but tonight he has the chance to get a rematch for the title he lost and will fight with everything he has. Tom then asks about Mustafa Ali’s reaction to losing last week. Sami shrugs and says if Ali still has a problem, he can come find him after Sami fights for the Intercontinental title! Main event: Intercontinental series final: Andrade Cien Almas w/Zelina Vega vs Sami Zayn

Match summary:
Both men come into this main event confident and determined to walk out with a shot at the Intercontinental title in a couple of weeks on Raw. Zelina Vega is full of instructions for her client throughout the match and keeps Andrade focused on getting the job done, whilst Sami keeps an eye on her, knowing Zelina has no problem making an impact on a match. In the early stages of the bout, both men are quite evenly matched, but the crowd is rooting for Sami to walk out the victor.

Sami Zayn as we enter the middle stages of the match is starting to look like he is taking control of the match but thanks to a well-timed Zelina distraction Andrade takes control of the match and grinds down the Underdog from the Underground on the mat! The crowd are behind Sami Zayn and hope for him to pull out the win as he starts to mount a fight back and puts Andrade on the back foot as the match starts to end the final stages. Sami Zayn is taking control and even sends Andrade into the corner of the ring as he charges in and connects with the HELLUVA KICK!

Andrade falls out of the corner, and Sami makes the cover… BUT ZELINA DISTRACTS THE REFEREE! Sami gets the visible 3 count but gets to his feet, furious when the crowd boos even louder… MUSTAFA ALI SLIDES INTO THE RING AND HITS A STANDING SPAINISH FLY! The boos are loud, but Ali leaves the ring as Andrade comes to see the downed Sami and doesn’t ask questions, planting him with the HAMMERLOCK DDT for good measure! Andrade hooks the leg and earns an Intercontinental title shot!

Winner via pinfall: Andrade Cien Almas (12:12)

Andrade gets to his feet as the crowd loudly boos him, but the former Universal Champion doesn’t care, soaking in the heat whilst Zelina Vega raises his arm into the air. NXT Update:

Bayley w/Sasha Banks vs Iyo Sky w/Zoey Stark

Match summary:
In the opening match of the night, Bayley comes back to NXT to take on a fellow former NXT Women’s Champion, Iyo Sky! Bayley starts the match acting a bit cocky and pays for it as Iyo Sky shows she can hang with the former Women’s Champion. Outside the ring, both women have their tag team partners, and Sasha Banks makes an impact as she trips up Iyo Sky, allowing Bayley to get back into the match to loud boos from the crowd.

The commentary makes note of the fact that the crowds are starting to turn against Bayley and Sasha Banks due to their recent behaviour, and the aggressiveness of Bayley once in control doesn’t do anything to change the crowd’s mind! Iyo Sky stays in the match, and as time goes on, it becomes clear that Iyo Sky is on the same level as Bayley and is actually giving her a run for her money before we enter the closing stages of this contest.

Bayley goes for the BAYLEY TO BELLY slamming Iyo Sky down to the mat, but it still only gets her a 2 count! Bayley looks angry about this but looks to go for the ROSEPLANT… BUT IYO COUNTERS AND WITH A GERMAN SUPLEX! She sends Bayley into the ropes before hitting a TIGER FEINT KICK! Iyo heads up top, and Sasha tries to get involved, but ZOEY STARK STOPS HER! Iyo dives off the top rope, hitting OVER THE MOONSAULT FOR THE WIN!

Winner via pinfall: Iyo Sky (14:47)

Queen of the Ring 1st Round match: Emma vs Jinny

Match summary:
Emma comes into this match with Jinny full of cool and calm confidence, with the NXT crowd behind the veteran in this match tonight. Jinny comes into the match very cocky and even during the match mocks the veteran, saying she failed in the big leagues. This cockiness soon comes back to bite Jinny as Emma locks in the EMMA LOCK and forces a tap out from the cocky Brit.

Winner via pinfall: Emma (4:49)

Queen of the Ring 1st Round match: Bianca Belair vs Stevie Turner

Match summary:
Stevie Turner comes into this match as an underdog, but Bianca Belair does get a bit taken aback by how good the Brit is in the ring, making Belair have to bring her best. Deonna Purrazzo picks up a hand injury on a house show

Deonna, this week on a house show, picked up a hand injury, which means she has to miss some ring time. It is unknown how this will affect her upcoming PPV match with Taynara Conti, but officials are hoping she gets cleared in time for the PPV. We will see how this impacts her feud with Conti on SmackDown Live this week.

SmackDown Live recap
Brooklyn, New York
Barclays Centre

May 21st 2021

SmackDown Live starts with the signature cold open, and there is no other group we should be focusing on as The Bloodline has arrived! Roman Reigns leads the way with the Men’s Universal title on show, but has Paul Heyman by his side. The Usos stand behind with their WWE Tag Team titles, and Jacob Fatu is also behind them with the United States title on show. Naomi and Tamina are talking to each other in the back when Kayla Braxton walks up looking for an interview, but Paul Heyman says The Bloodline will address everything in their ring before heading into the arena.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HALESTORM – MAYHEM
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Bloodline, as promised, make their way out to the ring, getting nuclear heat from the live crowd on the way to the ring. Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman stand front and centre in the middle of the ring with the rest of the group standing behind him. Roman has a smug smirk on his face, now a 7-time World Champion! Paul Heyman speaks first, doing his usual signature spiel before introducing Roman Reigns as not only the Tribal Chief but the 7-time Men’s Universal Champion!

Paul gloats and says they planned it out perfectly, ending Bryan’s false reign with Roman’s title. Heyman is about to carry on, but Roman raises a hand and signals for the microphone, which prompts Paul to pass the mic over. Roman Reigns says people thought he went into hiding, but as soon as he lost the title at WrestleMania, he was plotting to get what is his back around his waist! Roman, though, makes it clear he didn’t just want his title back; he wanted to make sure Bryan suffered!

Roman says Bryan was breaking his body week in week out with the open challenges and the constant fights, whilst Roman waited in the background for the right time to get back what is always his. The Tribal Chief lifts his gold into the air with The Usos and Jacob Fatu behind him, joining in before Roman says this is the family that runs SmackDown Live, before he looks directly at Naomi and Tamina, who now look a bit nervous as Roman brings up their lack of gold. Before anything else is said, though…

ALPHA ACADEMY makes its way out onto the top of the entrance ramp! Kurt Angle has a microphone leading out Chad Gable, Buddy Murphy, and Daniel Garcia. Noticeably, there is no Daniel Bryan, and Kurt Angle quickly confirms that Bryan is not here due to his injuries tonight, but they are ready for a fight. Alpha Academy heads to the ring, not caring about the numbers game, but the commissioner, Shawn Michaels, stops them. He tells Alpha Academy that they need to save it for the main event, as they will take on The Bloodline later tonight. The segment comes to an end with both groups staring each other down.

Match 1: Queen of the Ring 1st Round match: Carmella vs Nina Samuels

Match summary:
When we return from the commercial break, Naomi has taken a seat on commentary and has put on a headset. Nina Samuels from NXT UK is cocky during the match, but Carmella is a former Women’s Champion, so she stays focused on the job at hand. Naomi is watching closely and comments that she is going to beat whoever walks out of this match with the win. Nina gives a good showing, but in the end, Carmella drops her with the PRINCESS KICK to advance to the last 16!

Winner via pinfall: Carmella (5:05)

Carmella gets back to her feet after the bell and gets into a stare-down with Naomi. Both women trash-talk each other as the commentary team confirms that in two weeks, they will collide in the last 16 of the Queen of the Ring!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We then cut backstage as we can see the WWE Women’s tag team champions, The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection, standing backstage. Bayley is pacing up and down, furious, whilst Sasha Banks stays stoic as she looks at the camera. Bayley complains about the loss on NXT, calling it a fluke and demanding that she be respected. Sasha grabs her friend and looks to calm her down, saying they are still the longest reigning tag team champions of all time, plus she is calling out Zoey Stark, telling her to meet Sasha on their turf next week, which seems to calm Bayley down for now as we go to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, we see AJ Styles hanging out backstage with his friend Big Cass. AJ says it was a bit of a setback losing to Adam Cole at Armageddon, and he views it as a personal loss since he was the man pinned by the new leader of the O.C. AJ takes a moment to sigh as Big Cass puts a hand on his friend’s shoulder. Cass says they win and lose together, but AJ shakes his head, saying he is meant to be Phenomenal, but he is starting to wonder if age is starting to catch up with him.

He looks at Big Cass and says he has had a long career, even wrestling back in WCW towards the end. He has toured the world and won world titles everywhere since those days. He says, though, it is time they get back on track, and they can start by making The Good Brothers pay for what they did! Big Cass says they got to duck their challenge from before, using Finn’s injury as an excuse, but they are not waiting any longer and want an answer from The Good Brothers by the end of the night!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We then cut back to the ring, but instead we hear the start of the Firefly Funhouse introduction, and we cut inside the Funhouse to see Bray Wyatt in his Mr Rodgers style jumper waving at the camera with a sinister smile. He welcomes everyone to the show and says today’s show is going to be about how to handle loss. We see a painting on the wall of Seth Rollins standing over Aleister Black inside of Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 37. The camera pans back to Bray, who has a huge grin on his face.

He says a loss like that can break a person; it can make them go down a dark path as we see flashes of the Fiend showing on the screen. We then cut to another painting on the wall, this time showing The Fiend hitting Kevin Owens with the mandible claw. Bray goes on saying you can look to friends for support or you can look to break others as a way to cope with loss, but we will all suffer setbacks throughout our lives. As he is about to carry on, rambling rabbit comes running into the shot well, rambling.

He complains about the noises coming from the basement, prompting Bray to grab the rabbit by the throat and lift him up, choking the puppet! He says he is spoiling the surprise before the head pops off the rabbit! He looks at the dead rabbit and looks to the camera, shrugging his shoulders, going oops before tossing the corpse to the side. Bray says he has been learning that the best way to deal with loss is with friends, before we cut to a painting showing Braun Strowman lying on a car in front of Jacob Fatu.

Bray then laughs like a madman before the camera shows Braun Strowman on the way out of an ambulance at a hospital, but the lights go out… THE FIEND ATTACKS THE MEDICAL STAFF HELPING BRAUN STROWMAN! The Fiend then turns to Braun, who is struggling to stand, and CHOKES HIM WITH THE CLAW BEFORE KIDNAPPING BRAUN! We cut back to the Firefly Funhouse and cut to what seems to be the basement underneath the usual set as BRAUN STROWMAN IS TIED UP BEFORE THE SCREEN GOES TO BLACK!

Match 2: Queen of the Ring 1st Round match: Franky Monet vs Sonya Deville

Match summary:
Franky Monet and Sonya Deville come into this match knowing this is a big opportunity for both of them. Sonya spends the match trying to work over Monet’s arm, but the veteran is crafty and fights through the pain, keeping alive in this match. As the match reaches the closing stages, Sonya tries to get the win with a KIMURA LOCK… BUT FRANKY GETS TO THE ROPES! Sonya breaks the hold before coming back on the attack… EYE RAKE FROM FRANKY! A cheap shot, but Monet pounces on it, hitting Sonya with ROAD TO VALHALLA! Franky makes the cover and advances to the last 16!

Winner via pinfall: Franky Monet (6:45)

Franky gets to her feet and gloats after her victory tonight, a step closer to becoming Queen of the Ring. Corey Graves makes note that she uses the same finishing move as last year’s Queen of the Ring, his fellow commentator Beth! She comments that Franky has good taste before saying Liv Morgan is going to be a tough task to get past, before we cut elsewhere backstage.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Singh brothers are walking through the back, counting their money from last week when CHAD GABLE AND DANIEL GARCIA ATTACK THEM! Both men connect with a chop block each to the right leg of one of the brothers before going after their leg and twist them in ANKLE LOCKS! Both scream in pain before they get hoisted off the floor and SLAMMED DOWN WITH A GERMAN SUPLEX! Gable and Garcia look at the two men before going to one another 2 down 1 to go!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut elsewhere backstage as Byron Saxton approaches Mrs Money in the Bank, Ember Moon, for an interview! She asks how she is preparing for her last 16 match with Dani Luna on next week’s SmackDown Live. Ember scoffs and says she is going to beat Dani Luna because this is her division. She taps the Money in the Bank briefcase and reminds everyone that she still has one guaranteed Women’s title match in the bag, but winning this means she can win both the WWE and Universal title!

She goes on saying a fluke win by someone like Bianca Belair doesn’t matter… and if by magic the E.S.T. appears, confronting Ember Moon! Belair reminds Ember she is still in this tournament and next week she is going to beat her friend Alexa Bliss’s ass the same way she beat Ember’s… PROMPTING EMBER TO ATTACK BELAIR! The two women throw hands with one another and brawl until a swarm of security and referees pulls them apart from one another!

When we come back from the commercial break for the 2nd hour of SmackDown Live, Xia Li makes her way out, joined by her tag team partner and WWE Women’s Champion Taynara Conti. They wait in the ring as Deonna Purrazzo makes her way out with her right hand in a cast. She tells the fans in attendance that if they heard the news, she is not cleared to compete tonight. She shows off the cast but does state that she plans to be ready to compete when it matters the most at Queen of the Ring!

She says she knows the fans are disappointed, but she is doing the smart thing, unlike what someone like Conti would do. Taynara looks annoyed, but Xia calms her down to stop her from going up the ramp to attack Deonna. Purrazzo says she spoke to both the commissioners for Raw and SmackDown before coming to a business arrangement, confirming that NIA JAX will be taking her spot in tonight’s match. The Raw superstar walks to the ring and steps inside, towering over Xia Li before the referee calls for the bell to get the match underway.

Match 3: Nia Jax w/Deonna Purrazzo vs Xia Li w/Taynara Conti

Match summary:
Xia Li struggles early on in this match, having prepared for Deonna Purrazzo, who is a submission specialist, and now is facing a powerhouse in Nia Jax. The Raw superstar dominates and controls the match as she tosses the Chinese superstar around the ring. Xia tries to use her martial arts experience and kicks to bring down the giantess, but Nia Jax takes over the match and, in the end, puts away Xia Li with the FIREMAN CARRY INTO A FALLING POWERSLAM for the victory!

Winner via pinfall: Nia Jax (4:31)

Nia Jax gets to her feet and soaks in the boos from the live crowd, happy with her handiwork on behalf of Deonna Purrazzo. The commentary team puts over the brainpower of Deonna to find Nia Jax as a replacement, but it seems Nia isn’t done. She lays into Xia Li with a bunch of hard blows as Conti tries to make the save… DEONNA PURRAZZO TRIPS UP CONTI, STOPPING HER FROM MAKING THE SAVE! Nia pounces on that and hits the running leg drop as Nia Jax stands tall over both women in the ring, and Deonna backs away, smirking as SmackDown Live goes on a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, Mr Money in the Bank, Keith Lee, and Dominik Dijakovic are standing together backstage, with Keith slightly smirking. Keith Lee says he has important business to take care of on Raw this week ahead of the draft, but that doesn’t mean he is done on SmackDown. Dijakovic brings up the 8-man tag at Armageddon, but says there was another match that they were meant to have at that show, and they want to take care of that business.

Keith Lee says they want to get their hands on not just Jordan Devlin but Adam Cole as well. Dijakovic says they are pretty happy to let the pair of them pick the terms whether it is a two-on-two match or two single matches but they are not done with The O.C. members. Keith Lee says he is familiar with Adam Cole from their time together down in NXT but he is giving him a chance to prove that he might have become better than the last time he beat him otherwise Adam is going to have to bask in his glory!

Match 4: Queen of the Ring 1st Round match: Mandy Rose vs Shayna Baszler

Match summary:
Mandy is nowhere near 100% as she enters this match, and Shayna shows no mercy, targeting her cruelly and focusing on the arm. Mandy tries her best but can barely fight back, and Shayna picks up the win with an ARMBAR!

Winner via submission: Shayna Baszler (3:57)

Shayna holds on for a few extra seconds before dropping Mandy to the mat and soaking in the heat from the live crowd. Mandy screams in pain, and Shayna takes that as a signal to twist her arm on the mat and STOMPS ON IT TO LOUD BOOS FROM THE CROWD! Mandy screams even louder as Corey and Beth put Shayna over as potentially the most dangerous person left in the tournament, whilst medics come out to make sure Mandy is OK, as SmackDown Live goes to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, we can see Mandy Rose being taken to an ambulance, and she is followed by her friend Sonya Deville! Mandy is in a ton of pain, but notices that Sonya is wincing as well when Otis Dozovic comes into the scene to check on his girlfriend. He asks how she is, and she says she is not well. A medic confirms she will need to go to the hospital. Sonya offers to go with her, but Mandy says she has her own injuries that need to be taken care of and instead asks Otis to come with her.

Otis nods and says Of course but just as he climbs in, his arm is grabbed by TUCKER KNIGHT! Tucker asks Otis what he is doing as they have practice. Otis says he needs to take care of this, but Tucker says they need to focus on the tag team titles and stop worrying about Mandy… OTIS PUSHES HIM DOWN! Otis shakes his head, and the ambulance door closes with Mandy and Otis leaving the arena. The camera then pans to Tucker Knight, who looks furious, before we cut back to the ring.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We see The O.C. start to make their way out to the ring, getting boos from the live crowd. Adam Cole leads the way with Jordan Devlin and The Good Brothers following behind him. They all step into the ring as Adam Cole takes a microphone and teases the crowd, asking if they want another story time with Adam Cole? The crowd gives a mixed reaction as he smirks before telling the fans the only story they have to talk about right now is addressing a group of people they have already proved they are better than!

The crowd boos, but Adam Cole says that at Armageddon, the O.C. proved why they are at the top of SmackDown Live when they defeated AJ and all of his friends! Adam says he finds it funny how they are issuing challenges to them again, but The O.C. are always happy to prove they are on top. Adam Cole says he will fight Dominik Dijakovic on next week’s SmackDown, whilst he will give Jordan the biggest opportunity of his career, and he will fight Keith Lee.

Jordan has a big smile on his face and thanks Adam before borrowing the microphone for a little bit. He says that when he beats Keith Lee, he will prove he should get a shot for his briefcase, and then he will be next in line for the Universal title. Karl then also asks for the microphone and says they will fight AJ Styles and Big Cass in two weeks on the condition that they meet them in the ring next week. Luke Gallows chimes in to say they want to see AJ in the face and tell him why they need to put him down before Adam Cole finishes off the promo, saying they will soon start to take over!

When we return from the commercial break, we see Rey Mysterio hanging out with his son, Dominik Mysterio, when they are approached by Kayla Braxton looking for an interview. She asks how they are feeling two weeks removed from losing out to The Usos at Armageddon for the WWE Tag Team titles. Rey Mysterio says you have setbacks during your WWE career, but they will overcome this, and they are far from done when it comes to chasing those tag team titles.

Dominik says he is proud to be teaming with his dad, and there is nothing more important than doing what is right for the people you love. As the interview is about to carry on, Tucker Knight appears and barges past them. Dominik spins him around and asks what his problem is. Tucker says they were in his way, but Dom rightfully points out they were in the middle of an interview. Rey tells Tucker he should learn some respect, leading to Tucker challenging Dominik Mysterio to a match next week, which the young rookie accepts!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We then cut backstage to see members of The Church of Seth Rollins kneeling in front of a pew as they wait for their leader, Seth Rollins, to appear. He slowly walks onto the stage with his arms outstretched, then takes his place on the pew and addresses his disciples. He says Armageddon was a bad night for the Church and all of them suffered setbacks, prompting Karrion Kross to raise an eyebrow, having walked out of his match victorious.

Seth Rollins says he was supposed to save the Men’s Universal title, but he was unable to; Daniel Bryan escaped and got lucky to survive. Seth smirks and chuckles to himself, boasting that the damage he did to Bryan was why his former brother was able to pick the bones and become champion… again. There is a lot of anger on Seth’s face as he talks about his former tag team partner, Roman Reigns, but the self-proclaimed God looks to regain his composure.

He says that a time of change is approaching with the WWE Draft in the distance. This makes the disciples look up at Seth Rollins, confused, as he explains he has spoken to the commissioners, and if fate chooses to let some of his disciples move to another brand, he shall allow that. Kross smirks and doesn’t seem fazed by that, whilst Nathan Frazer looks confused and concerned, whilst The Authors of Pain look annoyed. Seth wraps up the promo and says it is time for them to look for their new path before we cut elsewhere backstage.

Shinsuke Nakamura is walking through the back, looking smug, when he gets CLOBBERED FROM BEHIND BY BUDDY MURPHY! He lays into Shinsuke with a series of hard strikes and hits him with a KAMIGOYE! He then looks at the table nearby them and drags Shinsuke Nakamura off the floor before PUTTING HIM THROUGH THE TABLE WITH MURPHY’S LAW! Buddy gets back to his feet and tells Shinsuke to stay out of his business from now on before heading to the ring as the commentary team confirms the main event for the evening is up next!

Main event: Alpha Academy (Chad Gable, Buddy Murphy and Daniel Garcia) w/Kurt Angle vs The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso) w/Paul Heyman and Jey Uso

Match summary: The Bloodline chose to have Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu, and Jimmy Uso representing them in this match, with Jey Uso staying outside the ring throughout the match with Paul Heyman. Murphy starts the match with Jimmy Uso and is aggressive right from the off with Alpha Academy wisely isolating the weak link in this match until Jimmy escapes and manages to get Jacob Fatu into the ring for his team as he turns the tide of the match by dominating Daniel Garcia!

Garcia is in trouble as Roman and Fatu spend the majority of the middle stage of the match working over Daniel Garcia with their superior power. Daniel Garcia fights with everything he has to not go down easily, but struggles against the powerhouses of the Bloodline. Kurt Angle, outside the ring, can be heard talking straight to Daniel, and eventually he manages to break free, hitting a DDT TO JIMMY USO BEFORE MAKING THE HOT TAG TO BUDDY MURPHY!

Buddy Murphy runs wild and even takes it to Jacob Fatu, catching the big man off-guard in a way we haven’t really seen anyone do since he appeared on SmackDown Live. Buddy looks to get him up on his shoulders for MURPHY’S LAW… BUT HE ESCAPES AND TAGS ROMAN BACK IN! Roman goes for the SUPERMAN PUNCH and sends Murphy back… GARCIA BLINDS TAGS BACK IN! Roman charges at Murphy, looking for a SPEAR… BUT MISSES AND COLLIDES WITH THE RINGPOST… GARCIA ROLLS HIM UP FOR A CLOSE 2 COUNT! Garcia doesn’t let up there, though, and looks to get Roman Reigns in a HEEL HOOK!

Shades of Daniel Bryan as Roman is in a ton of pain in the middle of the ring! Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso try to make the save for him BUT GABLE AND MURPHY TAKE THEM OUT OF THE RING! The crowd wills Garcia on, hoping for the tap out… BUT PAUL HEYMAN CLIMBS ONTO THE APRON DISTRACTING THE REFEREE! Jey Uso uses that to sneak into the ring and SPLASHES GARCIA! He rolls out of the ring, and Roman runs off the ropes, hitting Garcia with the SPEAR! He hooks the leg as the other two stop Buddy and Garcia 1 2 3 The Bloodline wins again!

Winners via pinfall: The Bloodline (13:18)

Roman Reigns gets to his feet, and if there was some concern on his face whilst being locked in the heel hook, it is gone now as the Wiseman raises his arm into the air. The crowd loudly boos as the rest of the Bloodline enter the ring and pose for the live crowd. Outside the ring, we see Alpha Academy regroup as Kurt Angle tells them they will get them back, but SmackDown Live ends with the Bloodline on top once again as we fade to black.
