All good shit... but there really hasn't been a death metal album that has done it for me in a good while. It's all becoming very cookie cutter and easily churned out.

Death Metal is very cookie cutter. There's 5 good bands for every 500 bad ones. To be fair, three of my top 5 were Black Metal, which has alot more variety and range of sound.

Yeah, however finding black metal without horrific production and ridiculous lyrics/themes can be quite the chore sometimes. The thing that really started turning me off to the genre was when bands like Dimmu who completely got me into it started stepping outside of it. Their live show has become atrocious and lord knows wtf they're gonna do without Vortex and Mustis.
