PAY PER VIEW
The AEW Full Gear 2019 pay per view event went live with a 21 tag team Casino Battle Royale to crown the first set of AEW World Tag Team Champions. During the duration of the opening contest, the likes of Best Friends, Dark Order, Lucha Bro's and Private Party. As well as thrown together parings such as Darby Allin & Joey Janela as well as several debuting teams all took part. In the end though only one tag team could and would gain the honor of being crowned AEW World Tag Team Champions and it would be the Lucha Bro's who did so.
Next up, Cody Rhodes and CIMA faced off in a thrilling first time encounter between the two men it lasted about fifteen to twenty minutes. The former aka the "American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes got one over his opponent with the Cross Rhodes for the pin.
In the third match the quartet of Awesome Kong, Dr Britt Baker DMD, Emi Sakura and Riho squared off with each other. To determine the next woman in line for a shot at the AEW Women's World Championship, which saw Baker submit Sakura with the Lockjaw.
Then Bea Priestley(c) aka the reigning and defending AEW Women's World Champion found herself having to contend with Hikaru Shida once again. Despite a good showing from the number one contender aka Shida she would fall victim to a Double Foot Stomp off the top rope from her opponent.
After that Chris Jericho(c) attempted to retain the AEW World Championship against the very man he defeated to win the gold in the first place, "Hangman" Adam Page. In a match that would also be the challenger's only shot at the gold while Jericho was champion. Jericho ended up disracting the refree which allowed for Jake Hager to hit Page with the title belt, and hand the victory to Jericho.
Finally the event closed with a brutal No Dq Light's Out match between the duo of Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega to put an end to their feud. Everything from steel chairs, singapore canes, tables, ladders and even the exposed beams of the ring itself were used. In both men's attempts at delivering the most punishment to their opponent in the end though. It would be Moxley who got the win after he drove Omega's head into the exposed boards of the ring with an Elevated Double Underhook DDT called the Paradigm Shift for the win.
