Explain to me how this is suppose to be funny.

Animal cruelty is not fun in joke or in real life. I'm not some tree hugger hippie but that was just not right to joke about.

100%. I've seen too many stories about people who chain their dogs to a post and leave them out in the sun with barely any food or water. It's a very sad reality. Onion News Network needs to be sued for being Blue.
