World Wrestling Entertainment signed former WWE World Tag Team champion Lance Cade last week to a new contract. Cade, who had a previous run with the company from 2001-2008, reported this week to WWE developmental Florida Championship Wrestling.

Cade, originally trained by Shawn Michaels and Rudy Boy Gonzales in Texas, had a previous run with the company, most notably his tag team with Trevor Murdoch.

Cade had been receiving his largest career push, working as Chris Jericho's second during a feud with Michaels when he was suddenly released in October 2008. WWE announcer Jim Ross reported at the time that Cade was let go after he had a seizure on a flight that required emergency treatment with the belief being that something Cade had taken caused the seizure.

Since departing WWE, Cade had been working for the NWA's Championship Wrestling from Hollywood TV project and made appearances in Japan.

I thought for sure TNA would sign this guy. I hear though that WWE signed him back when tey found out that he would be taking part in Hogan's Aussie tour.

I just wonder where he's going to go when he debuts and what position he'll be in. I'd rather him not go to RAW as I'm waiting for Kingston, Swagger, MVP, or Miz to step up and with Cade resigning, that may push them down the ladder. Then there's ECW, but I think if Cade were to go there, then it would push down Ryder, Shelton, Shamus, Hurricane, Burchill. SD is just meh.

Bearing in mind they got Ziggler, Drew & Escobar on the heel side of the SD midcard to develope, I couldn't see Cade getting a suitable amount of attention there.

Further considering the fact that they have Miz & Swagger (as well as Carlito & Masters doing fuck all) on Raw and Seamus & Ryder on ECW... It doesn't really seem like they have room for more lower/midcard heels...

IMO we're lacking faces (particularly on SD cos Finlay, Truth & Matt all suck the fat one).... Anyone seen Cade work as a face?

Good. The guy was decent from what I saw of him.

Oh and this doesn't contribute much to the thread, but Trevor Murdoch had probably the worst physique in wrestling. EVER. IN HISTORY.

Off topic but this is why it was stupid of WWE to split up The Colons. At least as a tag team they would have something for them to do instead of them being single until WWE releases them.

Back on topic, if I remember correctly Cade was somewhat face for a little while or at least acting face. If they decide to go face then I think they should drop the cowboy act and start him fresh. Plus they have to avoid him running into people he's dealt with before unless they plan on pushing him. I think their best bet on pushing him would be as a face on Smackdown or stick him with another tag team partner.

Speaking of which I guess it's only a matter of time before Murdoch is released from TNA since their original plans for higher him was to also high Cade and form a tag team. Cade was going to sign with TNA after he finished in Japan but I guess either TNA changed their minds or WWE offered a better deal.

Cade messed up big, it's good to see him get a second chance. I don't really like him as a face, there's nothing that screams exciting about him. But WWE's already loaded with solid midcard heels, so I don't know what his role could be. I doubt they bring him back with Jericho/Show.

or maybe they signed him so he can job to Danielson...

LOLZ u say that like Cade was some major star last year when he left. He is an addition WWE creative will not push cade for any reason when he returns. Hell, he might even be repackaged. IMO, cade was best as Garrison Cade with his partner Mark Jindrak

Yeah, when he received zero crowd reaction everytime he came out and completely jobbed in every tag team match he was in, to say he was at his best when he was a tag team with Jindrak is absolutely pathetic TBH. It's quite obvious that he was at his very best when he was associated with Chris Jericho.

Like it or not, he was receiving nice heat and impressed me when he helped Jericho take out Shawn Michaels etc. Disappointed to see him written off though in a six minute match against Michaels, but I suppose that's the way it goes. Hope the guy is given a nice push, although I would've preferred if he signed for TNA.

I don't think he ever has been a face in WWE. He came in with Jindrak (who would now become awesome in Mexico lol) in 03, as Garrison Cade. Then in 05, he was teamed with Murdoch until November 05, where until May 06 he was single, then with Murdoch again, until 08 when they broke up, and then Cade did his singles stuff with Jericho and Michaels. All that time he's been a heel.
