AJ Styles was recently streaming on his Twitch channel and took the time discuss his thoughts on the third party edict update that Wrestling Inc. exclusively reported last week. WWE stated that they will officially be taking ownership of the talent's third party accounts in four weeks and the talent themselves would "receive a portion" of the revenue. The portion that they receive will also be counted against the talent's downside guarantee in their individual contracts.

Styles relayed his disappointment in how he found out the news. Styles revealed that he learned of the news from the internet and he is disappointed in the fact that there has been no clear direction given on what can and can't be done.

"I don't know what's going to happen," Styles said. "I don't know what they expect from us when it comes to our channel. I don't know if it's something that they're like, 'We just want you guys under an umbrella like a WWE Twitch and have a set lineup and here is who is on when'. If that's the case - great! Then fans would know where and when to find us. I don't know if that's going to happen. I literally don't know and unfortunately I found out the same way a lot of you did - through the internet, which is a shame.

"You'd think it'd be better than that," Styles added. "For guys who are on here trying to, not only work for WWE, but get on here and Twitch and stuff like that, you'd think it'd be a lot easier to communicate with us and us alone instead of whoever it is behind the scenes and them going to Joe Blow and them having more information than us. Is anything set in stone? I don't think anything is. I think it's going to come down to communication."

Styles added that they are not making millions on Twitch and they are not professional gamers. He said the Superstars feel like it's simply an opportunity to interact with fans, especially in a time where they haven't been able to see the fans in several months due to the ongoing pandemic.

"Nobody is on here making millions on Twitch," Styles said. "We are not pro gamers. That's not what is happening. I feel like, for us, it's an opportunity to do what we love - play video games and interact with our fans. It's a chance to appreciate you guys appreciating us - that's basically what's going on. Especially with what's going on in the world. We don't get to see you guys anymore unless you're on the video screen in the ThunderDome.

"We don't get to see you; we don't get to talk to you; we don't get to do much," Styles continued. "This is the next best thing. I don't know what they're hoping to get out of this. The communication has not been as great as we'd like. There's a lot of us who are all on the same page - we've talked to each other. We're facing the same thing. It's all doom and gloom or, 'Oh, that's all they want.' I feel like this is an opportunity for me and my channel to say, 'This is what's really going on' and debunk some stupid rumors that are going on."

He went on to say that, despite what's going on, WWE is a great place to work and the talent just needs to have clear direction and understanding of what is expected. He also briefly touched on the "misclassification" issue that has been brought back to light recently by Andrew Yang and said it's a whole issue that he hopes doesn't get opened up.

"WWE is a great place to work," Styles said. "Despite what you may think and despite what's going on with the Twitch and stuff like that. There just needs to be better communication and direction - lines in the sand, I guess you could say. Like, 'You don't cross this; You can't do this' because there is that crazy thing about us being an independent contractor.

"It sounds crazy, I know," Styles added. "Yes, we are [independent contractors]. Although, we have all these rules that we have to follow as if we are not independent contractors. That's a whole other can that you don't even want to open up, trust me. I don't want anyone else to open it up, to be honest with you. I know what's expected of me and I'd rather keep it that way. We just need to know exactly what they want when it comes to - we need to figure out what is needed of us when it comes to our platforms. It seems like a roundabout way to tell you I don't know what's going on."

Damn really fucking good response from AJ. He's right that if they do some WWE Twitch umbrella that it would be cool (less revenue aside, its technically more exposure that could help some, not the real famous ones tho)

But the major issue here is definitely lack of communication :maury this fucking company

Man this is so fucking stupid

Yeah it really fucking is.

Like does Vince and Co forget they aren’t the only game in town? Plenty of places these wrestlers can go, you piss them off and you might lose them come contract time. Probably will stop others from wanting to sign there as well. Let these people keep their shit.

The funniest thing is, I sincerely doubt this is "no more Twitch bitches" - Vince. WWE probably is planning some sort of official streaming umbrella like they did for podcasts last year, but there's such a clear lack of communication between talent just judging by their reactions to all this like fuck, most of them probably just wanna know what's up :lol

From reports, it makes it seem everyone will be on a schedule. So it seems it will be on one channel, and you only stream when you are told to do it, not when you wanna do it.

Yep that's kind of what I assumed it would be. As a viewer (if I watched these streams), I'd enjoy that personally. If I only watched one or two....not so much. If I'm the content creator, probably not at all but with the less freedom, hopefully it comes with some more perks at least

Yeah. Like as a viewer it’s probably better, because now it’s no chance of two people you like being on at the same time. But for them I feel bad. Probably going to make way less money on it now also.

Just gonna throw random thoughts out there on the whole subject of Twitch/YouTube/Cameo.

Taking Cameo away, I understand. They do their own virtual meet and greets, so Cameo's would potentially hurt them in that regard.

YouTube. Dunno if anything will happen with these but I would like to think not. There is no reason for them to interfere with these.

The whole Twitch situation is just super fucking messy and feels like they're in so deep now that they can't turn back. Originally when I thought the whole drama was about them using their WWE personas, I understood it and didn't think it was that big of a deal for them to stop using WWE property? trademarks? whatever the word is.

But then it starts getting muddy, what about talent who use their real name in the WWE, what are they supposed to do since I imagine WWE holds some kind of ownership to that name.

An official WWE Twitch account (Which PWInsider has confirmed is coming) sounds super cool actually but again, it's super fucking muddy. I like the idea of it having a schedule where on X Day, Y superstar will be doing Z at this particular time. So lets say all the people who are suspending their personal Twitch accounts start streaming for the WWE on their channel, how the hell are you gonna break down the sub revenues fairly?

Lastly, I wish some people would grow some balls and fight this situation if they are that heavily pissed off about it. Newsflash, WWE isn't going to fire AJ Styles, New Day, Black and Zelina if they stand up and fight for this shit. They could either make real change, get told to sit at home and see out a fat contract or at absolute worst get fired and move to another fat contract over at AEW.

Damn I pretty much agree with this 100%. Cameo especially I think is what tipped this off anyway. And yeah this last paragraph is what gets me too....seems Paige might be? She will get fired if she's the only one though :heston

She started ranting yesterday live on stream talking about unions and shit, but seems like she kept backtracking aswell. Talking about how she broke her neck twice for the WWE and this is what they pull :tom:

Instead of Twitch these superstars should branch out to PornHub.

Someone else postin' their sex tape doesn't count.
