The Video of Kirk getting shot made me want to throw the way the blood was flowing. We know the guy and his antics but I worry about his kids and family and hope he does pull through but I don't know after seeing that clip if that will happen.
Didn't know he had kids, awful way of going, the video of the shot is brutal indeed.

I’m going to keep it at a buck, this whole thing has me fucked up. First the situation itself, but then seeing the reaction to it by certain people.

You might not have agreed with his opinions on politics, but he was one of the most mild-mannered, conservative influencers out there and most of what he did was he just wanted to cross the aisle and have public discussions with people on policy. He encouraged people to have open dialogue with people that you disagreed with, and that was the reason why he was on a campus in the first place. If people are celebrating the death of someone as middle of the pack as him, it just makes me wonder if we can ever come back together as people if we’re this divided that we’re gonna celebrate the death of anybody that doesn’t think politically as we do.

My heart goes out to his family. His wife and his kids who not only have to deal with this tragic loss, but to see it all unfold on social media. I’ve seen the video of his death now timeless times and my heart just continues to break thinking that his family has probably seen that video.

It’s such a shame that at a public forum meant for open dialogue, this person couldn’t have just come down and had a discussion with him and instead he chose that shooting him in the neck was the better option. We’re honestly fucked.

I’ll also add onto the prior discussion that I do think celebrating death does feel a little classless at all, but I do feel that certain exceptions can be made if we’re talking specifically about terrorists and dictators that caused the death of many people. I’m not even saying then it’s any classier, but you can certainly understand the difference. I wouldn’t certainly say that you shouldn’t celebrate any death because I don’t try to look like a hypocrite, but I do think if you’re talking about a political commentator and not someone that’s terrorizing people for political reasons then we should give these people grace in death.

Much like many other deaths, I'm not really going to celebrate it. I do feel really bad for his family. Especially his kids. That has to be horrible.

Has this been the worst decade for political violence since the 60s or is that just recency bias? I mean the capitol storming was a big one but you had the Nancy pelosi stuff, the Minnesota stuff this year, Trump got shot, Kirk. Shit is just flying to the point of no return

Maybe the political violence will cause actual change to happen that decades of children in schools being shot didn't do

I'd say yes, because this very decade we flung unhesitatingly into a fascist government, which thrives on violence, political and civil.

It has to be. I’ve been around almost four decades and I can’t think of any other time in my history where there was this much political strife. The only other time that comes to remotely close was obviously 911, but even that event itself was really the only thing and that actually brought our country together. I think we might have just crossed the point of no return.

At least we’re getting close to tipping over it when we can’t even agree together that political violence is bad regardless of which side it’s affecting. That’s nearing critical mass. I will say at least politicians on both sides of the aisle have come to go out today to both condemn this violence, but it’s just getting crazy.

Yeah no on this lol. He is one of the main grifters and not middle of the pack. Hell even today if you listen to his comments before he dies were right after saying there were too trans mass shootings. He has even said himself some deaths are worth it to keep gun control. I could go and find some of the stuff he has said over the years.

I get disagreeing with celebrating his death but to white wash him as some moderate does not sit right with me.

they only stop weaponizing violence when the violence targets them though

Can you name me a conservative political commentator that you would consider more middle of the pack? I don’t think you can. I didn’t say he was a moderate politically. I was saying that as a conservative influencer, this is a man that spent his entire career and life, literally holding open forums to cross the aisle, have political discussions with people that he disagreed with. The problem is you’ve gotten to the point now where you can’t tolerate anybody that disagrees with you.

In September 2023, the media watchdog Right Wing Watch reported that Kirk called transgender people a "throbbing middle finger to God" and "an abomination".
Kirk was a strong voice in the movement to ban gender-affirming healthcare. He called on former President Donald Trump to make the issue a central part of his campaign.
He was an outspoken opponent of transgender women participating in women's sports, a stance he voiced publicly and in a March 2025 podcast discussion with California Governor Gavin Newsom.
"I'm urging all my millennial peers and the young people coming up behind us to look for signs and symptoms of them being in a Democrat-induced delusion. Don't confuse the dream state of the socialists with any sort of reality. If you spot any signs of this politically terminal affliction within yourself, please seek help."
Cultural Marxism that has permeated all of Europe and has been the driving force that has brought France - the nation of Liberty, Fraternity and Equality - to the brink.
America's young people deserve more than a mediocre future - and we now have demonstrated proof that President Trump is building a path for our success.
He said that theists can define "evil" but atheists can't because [they] don't have objective morality.

Yeah no, stop white-washing him as this "I'm just asking questions and want dialogue" guy. He was a grifter who consistently only tried to talk to people who are not equipped for debates so he can stonewall them and do what Ben Shapiro does to underequipped college students.
